There's another great quote that reminds me of him: "Find what you love and let it kill you."--Bukowski Love him or hate him, (I'll abstain from offering my opinion this time) Arpaio definitely found what he loved and let it kill him. Even if it didn't take his life, the thing he loved most about his job is also the very same element that led to his tenure in office coming to an end. One last quote which captures Arpaio's essence: "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Indeed it does. It usually always does that.

Arpaio is effective as a part of the system of getting the criminals locked up. BUT, that doesn't give him the right to only offer meals that are made of rotten, moldy, and expired meals, and forcing them to live in filthy conditions: huge bugs crawling on you literally as you sleep because the cells are infested, and health emergencies denied care. And strangely, none of this discouraged criminals from being habitual offenders. Looks like his abusive techniques didn't decrease criminal behavior.

John Walton truth stings doesn´t it john? it´s somewhat ironic that you chose a daughter being raped as an example when the MCSO under him has been criticised about his failure to investigate cases of child rape, and his clearance rate for crimes is appauling (according to the MCSO´s own figures released to ABC under request) with those casesbcleared by arrest sitting at between 15-18%, the rest `cleared by exception´, which means shut the drawer they are in and forget about it, and notably 3 cases of child rape treated in exactly that way. so joe let 3 child molesters *AT LEAST* stay at large to offend again maybe it´s YOU who should wake up and smell the coffee!
