6 Skips but that's life, I find some customers do skip cleans in the winter ( not a many as 6). But I do find this can help me with the shorter daylight so ok on the positive.

Thank you appreciate that very much, it is hard sometimes to film and work at the sametime. But it is something i can do with work which i both enjoy.

On the forum I used to browse they'd say lose 1 house go and get 2 to replace. Then someone mentioned his wife had left him...a smart answer from a comedian to go out and get 2 in her place 😂

Hi @matthewwright7831 some of them can be replaced as you get to the point where you have to turn down work. So you know that you can replace those who skip regularly. Most of them though will have a good reason to skip and are not regular offenders. So i don't mind this time of year with the lack of daylight it does help me out. There is always someone with a smart answer, mind you i wonder what happened 😀

Congrats mate hope ur booming, but not seen any Trad work, WFP all good after 2 storeys +, but for anything else Trad on lower levels has a far more better result, good luck in your route to success!

Thank you for your comment mate much appreciated. I have very limited trad work now mainly the water fed pole. Trad I find therapeutic something different to think about. Trad and water fed pole both good methods to clean windows. On some first cleans I would trad first then water fed pole afterwards. Trad is defiantly better at knowing the window is clean compared to trusting the windows to dry without any run downs. Being able to do both is very good, I was water fed pole before I learnt trad, glad I didn't just rely on the water fed pole method only.

Hi mate, great videos! Always ask the customer why if they skip a clean. If they have a legitimate reason like building work going etc then that’s fine. But if it’s some BS reason then you have to decide if that that customer is right for you and your business. They are taking up space on your round and if they cancel last minute then it’s very hard to fill that space up so you are loosing money that day. I have heard all the crap in my time… just don’t let them do it because then they will always skip as and when they feel like it. Keep up the videos👍

Hi Dan thank you 🙏 great advice, it is annoying having work skipped unless it is for a fair reason. Window cleaning is not as easy as some people seem to think. Plenty of running costs thats for sure. Hope you and the family are well, loved your channel buddy.

I always ask why they’re skipping, I allow it once, If they want to skip again, I either charge them a bit more, or put them in the skip! Binned!

I understand if it is due to things like building work etc. but yeah if they are a serial skipper and you are turning down work due to being very busy. You sometimes have to swap them with a new customer to keep the cash flowing. There are a lot of outgoings to cover.

Great to see you all working together. 6 skips is a right pain, customers just haven't got a clue what it means when they skip! How did you get so many commercial jobs? It does look like your jobs are quite spread out due to the geography. Just one thing that might increase your/your sons safety, when going up a ladder it's much safer to extend your pole to the roof level and rest it on the roof/ladder side then you can maintain 3 points of contact when climbing the ladder and collect the pole when you get up there. Nice filming and a great insight into your day, thanks.

Thank you 🙏 most of my commercial jobs are from my customers. Some just have come in over time I haven’t advertised for them. Good point about the ladder I will get Matthew to read this. It was a pain having 6 skips but sometimes it is just nice to get an easier day. Thankfully that doesn’t happen to often.

6 skips is brutal. regarding laddrrs you can choose to take on ladder work or choose not to the round will still become full eventually. We have about 800 monthly customers and only use a ladder on 2

@rowanlewisuk thank you 🙏 Yes 6 skips was a bit out of the blue but that is life. Your right about picking your work once your in a position to be like that. Wow only 2 cleans that is really good, that will certainly save you time there mate! 👍

Yes buddy 6 skips of the round for that day. Happens rarely like that but at least it was on a day where I had shorter daylight.

How much internal trad work are you doing mate - or are you all external only?

  • @CrystalCleanWindows

I am lucky I do not have that much internal work. There are some I do but it isn't that much. I have done trad but I find for internal, that on hot days in direct sunlight it dries on the glass quickly. I have also found that in tight spaces the BOAB gets in the way. So we use Brite by Clover and use two microfibre cloths. Use it on the frames, sills and glass. You can use Brute in direct sunlight too and I am slimmer without the BOAB. I have tried the Unger Stingray but I wasn't 100% happy with it. It is good on monthly internal cleans, hard to reach areas and good on internal Conny roofs (polly ones) for regular cleans. Still find the Brits and cloths though better. Hope that helps mate.

If i have a customer that wants to skip a clean i want to know why. If its just a well tgeycare still clean or i just dont want tgem doing i sack them off. Keeping tgese customers is toxic to your business and while your business looks great on paper its not that strong. If you let um skip they will keep doing it.

Yes you do have to weigh things up, especially if you are turning down work you know that you can easily replace them. Bills need paying and it does cost money to run any business.
