If you don’t have a ton of experience editing and filming etc on actual professional equipment would it be recommended to start with their foundation to visuals program?

Do you mind me if you’re from Canada or an international student? I’m traveling from the US and am so curious about how it feels to adjust, find housing, etc

I'm a Canadian Citizen :D But you have nothing to worry about at all, because most of the students at VFS are actually international students, so you will definitely meet a lot of new friends who can relate!

this video was so helpful and fun!! i'm from ontario and i'm graduating next year and then moving to vancouver for VFS!!

Hi, I plan to attend VFS in 2022. I am just wondering if you recommend going to the Foundation Visual Arts & Design program to then go onto film production or should I just go to Film Production. Basically what I am asking is the Foundation Visual Arts & Design program a cash grab or no???

I plan to go to the full film production program when I can afford to live there but right now you can take introduction online classes I took a couple and they are worth it

Cash grab I’m currently in vfs it’s a horrible school and program. They make my life a living hell. They signed me up to 2 classes at the same time. Not only have they made it impossible to receive a refund being a foreigner they’ll say you need a Canadian bank they wanted me to pay the money wire transfer. Excuse me. Vancouver is beautiful but this school is a nightmare! Extremely unethical and unprofessional. Most of the instructors are nobodies

Do high school grades matter there ? Do you have to be an excellent student with good grades to be accepted ?

I don’t recommend it’s not a good school for Spanish speaking foreigners. They will make it extremely hard for you if you need a refund due to them canceling. They don’t refund the administrative fee even though they canceled the class. It’s a cash grab school with unprofessional staff and instructors

Hi Zoe! There are no English or Math classes involved in the Foundations program. Although there is a writing portion for scripts in the program, there is no English classes involved. Hope that helps! 😄

Hi Khalil! Thank you so much! I am a Canadian citizen, but I have heard a lot of stories about what studying and living in Vancouver is like from my international student friends :D Also, you are definitely not too old to attend VFS! I had classmates that were the same age as you, and some were even older! I will also definitely post a post VFS graduate video soon!

Lol 26 is definitely still very young. I'm 32 and thinking of attending. It's never too late to pursue your dreams or get a fresh start. Good luck!

Hi! Most students in VFS are actually international students, and there is definitely a different fee for Canadian students compared to International students. I would for sure say that VFS is a great school, but it really depends on the program that you are interested in when it comes to being worth it. I hope this helps! :D

Hello, I am writing a science fiction story about the adventures of a group of robots in the form of mythological creatures living in Portugal and I would love to go to the Vancouver Film School to do the television writing course. I would like to know if at Vancouver school I could find colleagues who could help me adapt my book for a TV series. I would love, for example, to meet students in the course of actors who could be interested in playing the role of my characters (in addition to these robotic characters there are also human characters, such as a young male student from a Robotics Institute in Lisbon who build these huge robots in the form of chimeras, griffins and werewolves. And there is also a beautiful young Countess who loves to explore the forests of Sintra and dreams of becoming an opera singer one day)

Thank you so much for your help!!! :) There are so many thing i would like to ask about Vancouver Film School, by the way i made some comics of my sci fi story "The Ornurenses" on DeviantArt and i use some fanart pictures and videogame screenshots to better simulate the scenarios and characters of my story in a more realistic and emotional way... :)
