Totally feel ya with some of the mandatory curriculum for the littles... It can definitely be difficult to get through, especially once the behaviors start to come up. I remember feeling how I had so many unique ideas to get standards taught/mastered but felt a little more hopeless when I was expected to follow strict guidelines. Keep hanging in there and fit in different things as you see fit! I found doing a quick game of Simon Says (even in the middle of a lesson) to get some wiggles out could help tremendously!

Your classroom is so cute! I love the desk fairy idea. Im in my observation and student teaching part of my degree and Im starting to get super nervous on if I will be able to do everything by myself every single day (lesson plan and attention span wise).

I've taught kinder, first, and second grade and not all kids can do criss cross...in our classes we have options for criss cross, mountain, or mermaid, and that seems to go well for different sitting options. Definitely choose your battles for sure. You are doing an amazing job! Looking forward to more vlogs!

I have so much respect for you working with the Kindergarten Age Group. I worked with that Age Group for 2 Weeks and Quit. I couldn't do it. I don't have the patience nor the personality for that Age Group. That's a NEEDY AGE Group. I work with High School Kids teaching Business and Finance and in the Dual Enrollment Program as a Manager and I love it.

Which one better 50 inch TV or projector for kindergarten class?

If you have to do sit down learning that requires the kids to sit for a lengthy time.. try to be more engaging and encourage teacher lead movement. Children are absorbing more than many people believe, even when they are up and moving. Take breaks in between lessons go breath/interact and get them reengaged. Then say “Miss Manda needs to talk right now. When I’m done, then you can have a turn.” I’m loud, obnoxious, engaging but focused… but make expectations match the development of the children I teach. I also have a stop and go timer that gives a tangible item for the kids to see how much time we have left in our learning spots.

I just dessert cleaning dess you guys are doing great thank goodness I have a dess and I can wait until miss manda ok😊

We have the same carpet. I have one in my classroom. Yeah, I can do a garden teacher which is awesome second grade.

I am about to go back to school to study Early Learning and Child Care. I will be moving all the way to Canada this December. I'm so excited!

Depending on if you get an associates or bachelors. With an associate only pre k or daycare with a bachelors you can do prek -3 rd grade :)
