Thanks for sharing Jesse :) Your videos are always great. Believe it or not, but your dedication is a true inspiration for me - so may I ask you a, quite personal thing? I wonder, what are the things, that 'kick you off balance' in your everyday routine (in karate) is it like 'not enough students show up' or something like this? I don´t know where this question comes from, but you seem to be always in such a great mood, dedicated and focussed - Really impressive :) greetings o/

Progwale Thank you! To answer your question, I'm my own worst critic. Therefore, my biggest challenge is simply to live up to my own expectations. I'm hard on myself but easy on others. :)

@jesse Enkamp , nice video, just loved it. But watch it with symbols. dont use the rising sun symbol (the kamikaze emblem, the one in the cover pic of your video!) with japanese masters, unless you look forward to get a Master Ken treatment, get kicked out or be given the cold shoulder. My sensei's sensei (lol) is son to a kamikaze pilot and, on a gasshuku, some dude came with the rising sun embroided on his gi. He had to be convinced not to kick out the poor dude. JFYI :) My first time here, but i'll subscribe, this is excellent :)

At 50 i have just re-started karate. I used to train and teach (at a low level) shorin ryu attaining my shodan. My hips are gone and arthritis prevents my old high kicking ways lol. I have started goju ryu and it is great to be back. Just discovered you site and will subscribe. It is really good. May even get one of you gi's lol. Be safe. Graeme

Hello Jesse! I have a few questions. This video made me think of some things. 1. Are you happy in life? 2. Do you have any free time in your life or you follow strict daily plans? 3. Do you sometime call off or miss trainings or not practicing? Like as a holiday for one week or you need some more rest than usual or stuff like that. 4. How much time do you spend with friends and/or girlfriend? If you are married or in relationship, could you have the same strict daily plans done as now? 5. Is being up late bad for your future plans? 6. What is your opinion about practicing 2 different martial arts at the same time? That's it for now, if I have more questions I will ask :) Oh, and as a Ninjutsu practicioner, Nin has lot of meanings: peace, stealth, endurance, winning, willpower etc, not just patience :) Thank you very much, I love your videos :) keep it up :) Greetings from Budapest, Hungary :)

Hi Jesse sensei, thank you always for your videos. I really appreciate it. I have a test coming up and I hit a wall. I'm having balance trouble, it seems, and I need to do some 'ura' katas as part of my test. And I can't seem to turn correctly without losing balance or finish my turn too early at a wrong angle.... Is there any secret to it? In some turns I manage by using arms to use it as a weight to turn but some I cannot. I know I need to lower myself more too but for some reason, I just cannot turn. I've hit a complete wall. I would appreciate it very much if you could do a video on that. Thank you for all that you do. You're an amazing Karate Nerd. Osu.

15:10 Oh man... push-ups for dropped weapon. Its been a long time since I was in a dojo that did that. In my current dojo you don't have to do pushups, your just not allowed to use your hands to pick it up. Instructors think it is a suitable punishment but also produces more agility.
