A day in Carriacou 🇬🇩 | Ferry ride + Hillsborough + Paradise Beach
In this video I take the ferry to the island of Carriacou, still part of Grenada. The island is located just north of mainland Grenada about 1.5 hour ferry ride or 15 minutes flight. I walk around the largest town of Hillsborough and chill at one of the most beautiful beach in the world, Paradise Beach.

Paradise Beach is beautiful! And no one is on the beach, so it would be so peaceful to be there.

Much appreciated. More coming.
Oil down is more common on Grenada. In Carriacou their main dish will be Cou Cou similar to ugali made with yellow corn eaten with fish and okra.😊

Wow really i didn't know that. I would have definitely tried that dish. I like Ugali. I tried a similar dish to Cou Cou in Tanzania.

Cou Cou is also Barbados’ national dish. It’s made of cornmeal, salt fish and okra as well 🙂.
Botswana In the Caribbean, epic. ❤ Enjoy Carriacou and stop over to St. Vincent and the Grenadines for a visit 🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🥳

You can get oildown on Fridays during lunchtime (noon- 2ish) at Ethlyn's place which is near Paradise Beach kind of by Cobra's Snake Pit. Ask the locals around there and they'll point out Ethlyn's place.

Thank you for the information. That's good to know. I did finally get some in St George's a few days later. Thank you for watching 🙏🏿
Carriacou was my home for 12 years. I hope your experience was unforgettable. Hope you make it to Petit Martinique ❤😊

It is a really beautiful Island and will cherish that experience forever. Unfortunately I couldn't make it to Petit Martinique. Hopefully next time. Thank you for watching 🙏🏿
Can’t find local food in Grenada it’s a shame, I spent a week there and loved it but no oil down, too much catering for the whites 😊

Yeah it was a bit disappointing that a local cuisine was that hard to find. A very beautiful island though. Thank you for watching 🙏🏿

A main dish that is hard to find...😂😂😂 I hope you tried making oil down with friends. As a Grenadian I never bought oil down. It was either cooked at home or I was part of a cook up. Paradise beach is a gem and one of my favorite hang out. Next time spend a couple days in Carriacou.

Haha i was really surprised it wasn't readily available lol but I did end up finding it in St. George's. I agree Paradise was by far the best beach i have ever been to. Just amazingly beautiful. And yes I do plan to stay a bit longer in Carriacou next time. Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏿
Oil down is not a common dish not even in grenada,it being the national dish is only because it's unique only to grenada that's it!!, but it is not commonly made because of the expense, availability of certain seasonal ingredients, and also cooking time!!

True but I always freeze my breadfruit for when it’s out of season so I can make my oil down whenever I want
