A Day Bombing Detroit w/ Jason Revok | PORTRAITS: Ep.38
Ойын-сауық
We took a trip out to Detroit to hang out with Jaso Revok. We visited his studio, went to his latest show, The Artists Instruments at MOCAD as well as went out to go paint with him.

This dude is on another level in so many ways. Always has been. All the kooks talking shit because what’s on this video isn’t “graffiti “ to them ,couldn’t fathom the amount of quality work this dude has put in. When you get to the level that he’s at you can do whatever the fuck you want. He could burn the haters with a hand style and they would still need ten lifetimes to try and catch up to him. His graff is his own just like his gallery work. He’s in a league of his own and anyone who’s been following his work and watched it evolve over the last 25 years will agree.

This guy has come a long way from AM7 in Los Angeles. I think it was very important for him to move on to Detroit and immerse himself in his art. Keep up the great work brother!
Been following this Revok on the gram for years. I found this video very insightful as a fellow artist. Deeply relatable. Oh, and his artwork is incredible. Dude is an innovator. Truly creative.
Very cool! Thanks!
Revok's work always inspired me growing up. Glad hes still creating.
Easily the most connected I’ve felt to another graffiti artist. On point. Respects
world class content
Love REVOK and his work, but your title is very off, this isn't a graffiti video...
Good shit dude. 🤘
I love the spiral wheel… that’s so dope… a giant, kid doodle toy, for an adult! So sick
I’ve been seeing this art around my city for years crazy to put a face with it💪
Revok is one my favorite artists! 🔥
William Basinski playing in the exhibit. Great stuff.
Always been a fan of Revok's graffiti and artistic work.
He just bombed my eardrums with nonsense, that's for sure.

I related to everything he said in that first part. Damn.
Love this guy! Vandal vacation for lyfe🎉
This is one cool dude. I had the pleasure of randomly meeting in one time. Some years ago in Thousand Oaks, California. At the coffee, tea and leaf. He was at the DMV. Taking a break while waiting and getting some coffee.
Love this dude! Detroit stand up! I really want an original piece of his for my new house (first house). Thank you for showing this.
appreciate the heck out of this man 🫡
troppo stiloso Revok !!
REVOK is the best.
My twin in life period bro .this is my life story . No friends and always judged because they never got to know the true me
I like Revok's graffiti but not so much his Art. But give him props for following his path. Just miss the letters!
Is this a Nick Rochefort character?
damn I hear William Basinski's Disintegration Loops... sick

👏👏👏👏👏💪🏼
Down with his mindset man. He truly gets it. Make art to create a space to express yourself in.

8 minutes of incoherent blathering w/ Jimmy Revok.
Bombing?
Revoks brain is fried from inhaling all the spray paint.
Dude.
how he went from having such an understanding in colour theory, style, flow etc etc to go to drawing just lines is such a fall off. To each his own i guess.

So maybe it's just like the music artist you once loved till they develope their style into new directions you didn't like. Well artists need to form their own language, that's his i guess.

yeah i think your right, all good artists adapt and change over time. Just imo it feels like a cliche transition into temporary art.@@NiKa-yq6ev

Artists grow and writing on walls can get old after you do it as much as he has. Plus in the real world you gotta make $$$ and hes lucky enough to turn his passion and talent into something profitable

he still paints homie, dont get it twisted. We all gotta grow up at some point, so he just cant be out there in his late 40's still crushing all the time. Believe me though, revok still does graffiti lol. He will never stop, but he will never be as notorious as he once was.
Detroit needs more famous artist who aren't from there taking food out the mouths of the local artist that spent their entire lives trying to sell a single painting in their own city. We need more jasons!!!!!! brb, running out to grab more seat wipes and another building cause I'm a shithead.
