A cyberstalking campaign leads to real-world tragedy

Ойын-сауық

Case 275: Michelle Hadley
** Content warnings: Sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking **
When Angela Connell met Ian Diaz, the pair began a whirlwind romance that quickly led to marriage and a growing family. But their newfound happiness was soon disturbed by a cyberstalking campaign with real world consequences.
Angela and Ian told detectives from the Anaheim Police Department that they knew exactly who was behind the scheme: Ian’s ex-girlfriend, Michelle Hadley. But all was not as it seemed…

Yep. Utilizing or Donning something when you don't have to is a massive red flag as it speaks to the kind of insecurities found in people with no shame, guilt, conscience, heart or soul. People who put on a good show and may come across as very confident when really they are just hyper sensitive, fragile and unable to take even the smallest slight or perceived slight. Diaz is just one of those sociopaths that managed to slip through the cracks

Ian Diaz was a love bomber much like Scott Peterson, a trait indicative of a narcissistic personality. If a man comes on too strong too soon with the charm, sends or brings you flowers constantly and texts you like he's keeping tabs on you, run like the hounds of hell are on your heels. Because for all intents and purposes, they are.

My very first thoughts were that Ian and Angela rushed their relationship way too quick, and if she was pregnant, no way was he the father. Things can happen fast, but not that fast. Then it just seemed a little bit too obvious that Michelle was targeting Angela, but the way things unraveled and concluded kept this case interesting from start to finish. Good job, casefile.

I'm not so sure the police are to be "commended for their hard work in unraveling what happened". They'd have had her still sitting in prison if it weren't for Michelle and her family's hard work! When the story began, I could smell a rat but I hadn't figured what transpired! Bonkers and frankly very scary! It's a good thing Michelle is clearly a very intelligent clever woman with enormous inner strength, and a loving supportive family. I'm so pleased that despite such a horror story happening to her, she has not let it stop her and has found success and happiness.

absolutely horrifying. but no matter how much the story twisted and turned, all i could think was, "hmm. i wonder how this loops back around to the pig who used legal f***ery to try and steal a condo he didn't pay for, (or half of the money for its sale) and had a clear financial stake in both of these women being played against each other." and given that Michelle was cavity searched, (and the fake attempts made to procure someone to r*** angela) both ian and angela should have been charged with r*** by proxy, and put on a s** offender registry for life.

Most phones didnt have the name and number at the top of a text. It just said the contscts name. So she changed of her friends names to my number. Took screenshots snd made it look like i was threatening her while st was home with a high risk pregnancy. I was on bed rest doctors orders. Bc my body has tried to give birth way too early. I was in so pain and suddenly being cussed out by my ex husband bc i "just cant leave her alone".

The way you handled this crime story is really unsettling, and I even think you made Michelle the antagonist so you could later twist the story to "surprise" the viewers at the conclusion. But poisoning the minds of the viewers and then reporting the truth about her doesn't help Michelle. When I originally heard this case a long back, the narrator did a much better job of focusing on the toxic connection between Ian and Michelle and how Ian gradually changed Michelle's perspective to the point where she agreed to do things that she would never have otherwise. It seemed sense that she was attempting to reclaim the person she was before the abuse when the story discussed her emails to Ian. Nevertheless, the narration I've heard managed to surprise me in the end by reporting the events in a chorological order without going out of their way to undermine Michelle's character.

I can't believe they did a deal for her to serve only 5 years the victim is lucky she wasn't raped or murdered and the boyfriend needs to be watched he's no hero either 😢and hearing about her and Ian's relationship I don't believe he had nothing to do with the harassment of the victim 😢

The cops behaviour is not an exception. Its the norm. And they have Angela as another victim who shouldnt be in jail.

He 100% is referring to the city in Southern California. Makes sense considering Southern California is where all the events in this case took place.

@@JohnGaltShadow yeah there’s some epic ones on this channel!! I can’t think of lots off the top of my head but have you heard the case of Mark and John? That episode is INSANE. Also the Original Nightstalker case I think he’s called EARONS - multiple episodes, chilling and crazy, with a conclusion that took _decades_ :o and the Batavia shipwreck case is one of my favourites. Love the twisty weird ones!!! Edit: the Ivan Milat series on here is also actually just legit terrifying, like the stuff of horror movies but worse. His case is called Belangelo (but it’s not for the faint of heart!)
