exactly. They do last forever (or they used to). This model is not the best example. Casio has decreased the quality standards for the gshock line in terms of construction . They used to be real tool watches (remember the commercial with the hockey player?) The "triple 10" philosophy is not a standard any more . Now they are targeting the fashion market. I guess it is the most profitable nowadays. Luckyly we still have the classic models that have at least some of the quality of the good old ones.

@@plle89 it's because of watches like these that generate a lot of money that they are even able to afford to keep the older designs around, however we can't just say this isn't a reliable or robust watch yet because we don't know how reliable the carbon core guard compound is

@@plle89 Your comment sounds definitive. You can’t say that. The Casio G-Shock line is vast. There are so many different models of g-shocks from $30 to $2K. They make some more fashionable watches and some tacticool models like the Mud Master and stuff, but they still make the affordable work horses that many military personnel rely on.

@@plle89 I think it depends watch to watch. The GA line has some pretty tough watches like the 100, 110, 700, 900 and 1000. The mudmaster is tough as hell. This one while it does not have that degree of toughness, will most probably be bought by people who do not need that level of toughness either.

Casio=God Tier

I have several G-Shock watches. I bought a grey 2100 with an urban camo face. A young man that works for me fell in love with it and is an aspiring watch collector. I took it off my wrist and gave it to him. I told him that if he wants to be a collector he has to have at least one G-Shock. He was blown away and I can always get another one. 😁👍🏾

Let him know that I would like to give him a Seiko 5 . If he hasn't experienced automatics he can. Us collectors shouldn't be snobs. If someone is interested in our hobby we should help out. When I started to get into watches, I only thought the only type of watches were quartz. My 1 watch is a Seiko SUR356 quartz , then I got a Movado 800series quartz. Teddy's videos is where I learned about quartz and automatic. Nothing against quartz! I love quartz. My 1st Seiko SUR356 I passed it on to my 15 yr old son and it's still running with the factory battery!

I own several Rolex, and I just purchased this. It's coming this week via the post. But I am just as excited for this as I've been for my other, more expensive pieces. It's a fantastic watch with a great design.

After a lot of digging, last year I got the scarce (at that time) full black Casioak, below MSRP

I've read that the "CasiOak" design is actually inspired by the first two G-Shock models: the DW5000 and the AW500. It was intended to combine the iconic elements of both models to create an ana-digi version of the DW5000. The similarities with the Royal Oak is unintentional.

True. There are multiple octagonal casios already, square g shocks and even AE1200 or Casio Royale series. They just increased the length of diagonal faced sides and made dial circular inside

I’m glad you give these G-shocks exposure on your channel teddy. I bought mine 2 months ago but the silver metal version. Gotten lots of compliments on how it looks and I love how comfortable it wears on the wrist.

@@Marc_prime actually it feels barely noticeable, not once have i felt uncomfortable wearing it. It’s a daily watch on me for now and gotta say Casio ticks most of the checkboxes for the price point

Whenever I’m thinking about a certain watch to buy I always search it on KZread and I almost always find a review on it from you and that’s how I base my decision! I love how much detail you give about everything and really helps me make my decision!

Never been a big fan of the bulk typical g shock models but found this one online a little while ago and loved it. Have the all black/stealth model. - took me a bit to figure out the settings but this video would have really sped things up! Excellent review @teddy. Thank you hard to beat the features for the price.

Just got my dad one of these for his birthday as a beater watch and he loves it. I catch him wearing it at least a few times a week. I was on the fence about it at first but can honestly say I'm a fan now and will probably get one at some point.

I love that, despite being an authorized dealer for some of the classiest watch brands out there, you still don't look down on practical tool watches like G Shocks! I've always been of the opinion that when it comes to watches, if you feel happy seeing it around your wrist, go for it.. which is why my daily driver is a mudmaster G shock

Love these watches! I own a GM-2100 (the metal version) myself and wear it almost everyday, can't think of a much better beater watch.

Great video Teddy. I love my G-Shock Mudmaster I use trekking, it can survive anything other than an asteroid strike and maybe it might survive that too! These are very attractive casual watches and now of course there is the all metal version which is truly stunning. You might even manage to get away with wearing a suit with the dark green and blue metal Casioaks.

I want one now! Love the infectious adoration of watches that you have imparted to me! I love them all!

I got the virtual reality version they just released and it's great. The comfort factor is it's biggest quality I find myself wearing it for that fact alone.

Great video, I just bought the grey Casioak. I have 10 G shock watches in my collection plus a few other brands, Casio is my favorite watch brand. I have the first G shock watch that I got for a high school graduation gift in 1983, It still works. Thank you for all the information you have, I plan on buying more G shock watches to add to my collection. I love the solar and atomic time keeping features, Keep up the great work.

This watch made me start a watch collection, currrently have 8, 4 metal versions, 4 regular looking to buy more so I can customize.

I love the design and got myself the steel case version - in green. Love the way it looks and feel, just slightly heavier than the ones you showed in this video.

Just bought one the other day. This watch is absolutely terrific to say the very least. I recommend to anyone looking to buy a sporty watch that will last you a lifetime.

I bought the Khaki green version and i thought it wouldn't be quite as good as my atomic, square 5600, but was surprised to see it gained probably less than half a second over 1 MONTH, so it not having 'multiband 6' is definitely not a loss. It's an incredibly light and comfortable watch, i only wish the digital part was actually VISIBLE, It's just so tiny, so you need to be under good lighting to read ANYTHING on it. Still a FANTASTIC purchase though.

I own so many divers. But I ONLY dive with g shocks. Best utility watch ever. Ordering the army green casioak 😍

Man, I was looking for watch like this one: WR 20bar, lightweight, quartz, time zones. Firstly I found almost 10x more expensive citizen titanium with rc, it was gorgeous, but to expensive and now youtube recommended me your movie :D Thanks!

the problem i have with most of these g-shocks is the color schemes make it difficult to read the watch. the hour markers and hands of the watch need to stand out more from the dial color imo

I have a red face steel Casio oak. Very stunning in person. Thank you for tgis review.

The one feature that I need this watch to have before I buy one is to have it in Tough Solar. I don't like the hassle of having to swap out batteries, and there's a possibility that moisture can enter the watch should the caseback be opened (this is a tropical humid country).

I traded a cheap bike for a used solar g-shock and some cash twelve years ago. I have worn that watch swimming, showering, working, and everyday living, and it still looks like new.

Definitely will be picking up the Gray version when my Christmas gifts (hint its money to buy watches) come in ... as well as a sunburst red dial Orient Kamasu. Ok that blue and gray looks stunning too ... didn't know it existed.

I like the range of watches. I kinda tuned out during the tutorial of how to use the modes mixed with b-roll that doesn't relate to the tutorial. Most videos I just enjoy the b-roll. On a side note I liked the old background set. The old lamp and clock looked nicer.

Agree, Teddy the B roll did nothing to help with your explanation, if I was new to this model, I would not know how to set the watch

Really wish they’d make a small g shock, like 38mm I’ve got tiny wrists

I bought the black on black version for a work, beater watch. And didn't like the rubber straps at all. It's great on a nato strap though.

So far I have the all black that I was able to get on sale for $99 CAD, just got the red one for Xmas and I think.....I know, I have the all white one coming for my birthday. Gotta catch them all.

Wanting this model to become my EDC work watch.

As someone that has all black G-Shocks I have no idea why im gravitating more towards the red one this time.

Yeah, they are perfect Beaters. Not as wild or larger as the other G-Shock models. I have Mudmaster for the outdoors. GA-2100 for manual work or "quieter" sports like cycling and archery.

My all red is a necessity.

I love this watch and bought one a couple months back but I think I made a mistake buying the all black color. It is just too dark, the watch design isn't eeven properly visible indoors. These dual tone colors look really good!

Debating between the red, white or black. I think the red could be more value because it’s limited to 1 per customer.
