a Cozy Bookish Weekend ☁️ Early morning cottagecore meets indie city life dreamer 📚 A Reading Vlog

Hello, sweet friends!
I've spent a good part of my twenties looking at pictures on the internet of people living beautiful lives, wondering when I will have the confidence, when I will feel "cool enough" to live a life that looks like those pictures. It's so so SO obvious to me now, but I've only just realized that I won't ever feel "cool enough" and there's no magical age when I'll have alllll the confidence I need to dress and be the way my heart desires. All of this is to say-- You do not have to be extraordinary to live an extraordinary life ❤️
So join me for a bookish sleepover in which we pretend to be indie-city-life dreamers, followed promptly by the coziest of cottagecore mornings concluding with a magical, hobbit walk through the forest (inspired by the Lord of the Rings trilogy I'm reading in this video). We get to be whoever we want to be. Our life can feel however we want it to feel. It doesn't all have to fit into one theme, and it's okay to decide to be entirely different day-to-day.
Thank you so very much for being here ❤️
Big big hugs,
Morgan
VEGAN PANCAKE RECIPE:
This is my favorite vegan pancake recipe: www.noracooks.com/vegan-panca...
**I don't add all the water, only about 1/2 of what the recipe calls for-- this makes the pancakes fluffier. Also, in this video I didn't have any soy milk or almond milk, I only had brown sugar oat milk creamer. I used half a cup of creamer and half a cup of water and the pancakes were the best ones I've ever made!

Morgan - when I heard you say you were feeling old, I almost spit out my coffee. 😉And that's not to invalidate your experience - I remember so clearly in my mid-late 20's feeling like I was getting old and comparing myself with others. Here is my advice now as a 48 year old woman: All these people who look like they have it figured out haven't actually figured it out. No one has. And that's the beauty of it. We aren't supposed to have it all figured out and reach some sort of pinnacle of having "all the stuff". We are supposed to enjoy this beautiful, magical, gorgeous existence we have and reinvent ourselves over and over and over again. Love yourself at all your ages and all your forms. Each and every one is beautiful. Be gentle and kind to yourself. And remember that there are others who look at your life with a wistful envy too. You are so good about reminding all of your viewers that they have the exact magic you have right at this very moment. We just have to notice it's there. Thank you for sharing your life and ENJOY your late 20's - - it's a beautiful time in life. But so is being 48. 🙂

I just turned 66... 67? No, I think 66, dang, I can never remember. Doesn't matter, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. Still, while I've been pondering that, I've had decades of adventures. And I've been many different versions of myself, and yet still feel like the same me that I can remember being as a teeny tiny child. I've always been an advocate of using the good china, wearing the favorite dress, drinking the fanciest tea. And yet some of my favorite memories happened in moments that would be far from Instagram worthy photos. It's the experience that counts, not the presentation. And without segue, I love your Solmate socks. My 87 year old mom loves buying them for me and I have pairs in all sorts of colors.

Thanks for the video Morgan. The Idea of "Falling in love with your life " stuck with me, and made me think of little games I play with my two young kids. We make a list of things we want to spot in our day, like a blue car, a singing bird, a yellow leaf... and I find it makes me smile throughout the day when I spot them, and think of the precious moments with my kids. Bringing a little magic to make them smile and wonder, like silly tricks and funny words or recipes, also makes me see the world through a kids eyes again, even if I don't completely feel like an adult at times. Little things that transform the ordinary into an adventure and a story...

"The wisdom of the tree..." ❤️ Very much reminds me of the tribe of Treebeard and the Ents of Fandom forest and The Giving Tree... Thanks for inspiring me to finish my tasks through your video and music... Please be assured that while you may feel lonely from time to time, you are never alone. Your own tribe is here... 😊 And we all fall off from our games from time to time, but it's important that we get back on track, and we can, in our own time and pace... As for those "beautiful" posts in other social media, I am again reminded of Tolkien: "all that is gold does not glitter... " You may feel you do not glitter, but for us who are here, you are definitely gold... Thanks, Morgan...

Hey Morgan! I'm turning 30 this year, and even though some of the things in my life haven't gone quite the way I thought they would when I was younger, I have moments when I stop myself and sit in awe of the fact that I am living the core of the life I dreamed of as a kid. And that helps me to put things in perspective and be more patient with the things that aren't going "just right" at this point in my life.

Life is an amazing ride! I had no idea what I was going to do with my life. I never really fit into society and I wasn't very confident. Like you, I was waiting for the moment when it would change. In my case, that moment actually came. Once I became a mother to my amazing son, my perspective changed. My view of the world will never be the same. I suddenly had a lot more self-confidence and today I do things that I would never have been able to do before. I'm not saying that having a baby will change life perspektive for everyone, but it did for me and I'm very grateful for it. ❤ Thanks for the positive vibes and unique videos. I love watching them almost every day!

I’ve just finished this video and it was wonderful. I adore you, and I’m sorry to hear you’ve been sick! I wanted to tell you that you never need to thank me for watching these videos. I do not watch them for you, I watch them BECAUSE of you. Or rather, I watch them for me. Because you are so wonderful Morgan, truly. The way you reacted to Mary Oliver poetry is exactly how I react to your videos, word for word, because you somehow make me feel so deeply understood and comforted in a way no other person has before. You are magical, and you are a safe place for me and so many others. If I had the money I would join your patron in a second to spend more time with you. You cannot possibly feel scared or guilty or nervous about KZread because every last one of us love you more than you could understand. I understand being down about not doing things you thought you would have by now, but how exciting that you haven’t done it yet! How exciting that you still have that ahead of you! And also, if it helps, when I see your day to day life I just know (as a 20 year old university student) that THAT is what I want my life to look like in a few years. Even when you forget how wonderful your life is, just know that it’s a dream life to me (even with the inevitable and unknown pitfalls of life, of course). I’m not sure if you’ll read this, but I’m sending you hugs and raising my teacup to you always ❤

I prefer the shots of people living their normal lives, looking like their normal selves, that's what's real 💛 I think I had so much confidence in my late teens and early 20s, then it definitely went down. Then I found myself again and I'm comfortable - I don't feel cool anymore, but maybe that will come?! The 30s are the decade for figuring yourself out even more, I'd say 🥂 xx

I have definitely felt what you were talking about at the end and have a bad habit of comparing myself to others. I don't drive for disability reasons making it difficult to get around, and it is easier for me to live with my parents. I'm fortunate that they love having me live with them still and are more than happy to help me out. My situation is bit complicated where I'm still dependent on them, despite being 33 (34 in May), and I think it might have do with my recent realization that I'm on the Autism spectrum (Undiagnosed). It's embarrassing that at my age I'm not as independent as I feel like I should be, but I do know everyone goes at their own pace. Your fur baby stole the show once again. 😉

I’ve been in that period of time in my life when I was insecure of myself. But has u get older, u start to realize that you’re beautiful in ur own way. I’ve learned that u have to love yourself, cause no one can love u like yourself. So now at 54yrs old, I don’t care what people think, say. I’ve reached an age where I do what I want, if that is about clothes, shoes ,hair. How I dance or how I speak. This is me, i love me and everything about me. If someone can love, respect or like you for who u are. Then he or she or it , is not worth having in ur life!! Remember u are beautiful and precious and smart. Live ur life till the fullest. Yes we have bad days, but who doesn’t!! The important thing is that ur healthy ❤ you have a roof over ur head and food on the table to eat. And even if u don’t have fancy clothes, but the clothes u have is what makes u !!! Give yourself a hug and tell yourself…. You are a very beautiful special woman 😊

And when I read that your poet mentioned „my“ poet (Rilke), I decided to read her as well. (Have you tried Rilke? He evokes incredible feelings, notions, breathtaking beauty with his words, and I hope to see him in Heaven one day and tell him how much he moved my world.) (And I am so happy that I can tell YOU how much you influence my daily life today.❤️) You truly are never alone. There is always someone out there who thinks of you with a thankful heart. I really enjoyed your video today thank you for sending out your wonderful vibes. Remember that spring is very near and birds will be nesting on the forest floor. If a bird gets scared off by a dog they may abandon their nest. Sorry the animal lover in me had to share this with you. Love your pup by the way.

I am in my mid-twenties and I totally understand what you were saying at the end of the video. I'm trying to learn to be content with my life where it is now. Even if it doesn't look like how I thought it would. When I take a step back I realize just how blessed I am ☺️

Morgan, you're one of my biggest inspirations. I don't mean in a big way like some celebrity. I wish you could see yourself how we see you, and not compare yourself to women on Pinterest. You ARE doing beautiful artsy things! Look at these creative videos you're sharing to the world, the adorable bookshelf behind you with the string of fairy lights decorating it. I can never find the motivation to do these simple things with my everyday life. And, you're genuinely gorgeous and so photogenic and I hope you know how pretty you are both inside and out. I just know you would look absolutely stunning in a dress and I'm glad you've come to realize that you don't have to "feel" like you're cool enough to wear one. Just do it! Get some girlies together and have a dress-up photoshoot together! I did it once with my friends and I've felt so much more confident and "myself" ever since, even though I've always been camera-shy and hated looking at photos of myself. Long story short what I'm trying to say is you're wonderful the way you are; everyone grows and learns at their own pace and I hope you will no longer be so hard on yourself or disappointed in where you are in life. If I could have one thing in the world when I'm your age in a few years it would be to be as loving and kind and at peace with the world as you are.

I’m a huge LOTR nerd, so fun fact: It’s one book in three volumes! So there is no “book one”. The Fellowship of the Ring is the first volume. Originally in 1955, the book was published in six parts- two parts per volume. But Tolkien always intended for it to be a singular piece of work. ☺️

I am 66 years young, yet still love watching your young self, and all you and your lovely man and dog get up to. Love, and warm hugs from Devon, England. xxx

This video was just full of joy and Hygge moments for me Morgan friend. Just loved your walk in the forest and being a Hobbit in spirit. Like Bilbo would say "I'm going on an adventure!" There is always joy to be found in nature and the fresh air clears the head and makes one feel so good. Roo certainly enjoyed himself and had me laughing when he kept bringing you new sticks. Also those vegan pancakes with that yummy jam looked so delicious! It is making me crave pancakes! Ha. As for living your dreams all I can say is don't put things off if you can make them happen. Carpe Diem. Love and Light.

Loved seeing you and Roo experiencing joy; I feel the same about the PNW - there's never a time when I take the dog for a walk that I don't see some bit of nature that just awes me. I know what you mean about the "unsmiling woman in the Insta pic" - for me, it was always hosting an elegant dinner party. THAT would mean I'd finally "grown up." But, as with you, I've realized this IS my life and THIS is my version of "grown-up" and that can be anything you like, so long as it's the authentic YOU.
