When I first picked up a guitar, it was as if I had to be a magician to play it. It was so very difficult for me. My guitar teacher said to me, "Son, some people weren't meant to play. You should find another hobby." But I couldn't. I loved the guitar. It was so cool. I just struggled for years trying to play. It was sad, because I thought I would never ever be any good at it. I went at it so half hearted. With no faith I kept on practicing, and today I'm a professional musician. Amazing!

I heard somewhere, that when we ( if we) ever get to see another human being as they actually are, we will burst into tears at their beauty and we will be in awe. That is quite a wonderful thing that the ego cannot get to grips with.!

+Mary Hall That makes sense that this book is an answer to your prayers. Since the "god" you pray to is actually Satan, he has sent you his book in response. But do him a favor - Never forget: You have never sinned and you don't need a savior. Now lets get back to all the love and forgiveness fluffy, soft wool that this wolf sufficiently hides himself under .

In 1992 I met a girl who claimed to be a victim of rape. I said, "You look fine. Maybe you're actually a rape survivor." She actually appreciated the new perspective. The next time I saw her she said, "You're right. I'm not a victim. I'm a survivor." So many had pitied her. All that did was strengthen her victim mentality. I didn't show her much pity. Instead I showed her that she was undamaged. "Well thank God you got through that okay!" It was such a shock to her to hear that she almost hit me

No one is a stranger if you see them as they truly are. The ego sees only strangers. The spirit sees the children of God. The greatest joys I have ever experienced is when I rescued someone. It doesn't have to be from a burning building. A lift to the gas station for someone who ran out of gas is enough. This truth really sunk in deep when I rescued a stray kitten from the Tucson desert. Eight weeks old and homeless for 3 weeks she was sickly. Today she's 8 years old and so dearly loved.

PART 2 I was in a state of bliss, and could see everyone busily go past on their way doing their business and they were all heavy in their thoughts, believing them and was a sort of teacher sharing truth. I could see the world with TOTAL clarity and peace of mind, and there was NO ego. Sadly, I went back to sleep and havent had it since but each night I hope it returns. I have been hoping for it ever since. Was this a visit from the HS? My ego is telling me not to be so stupid but it was so real

The more you meditate, the more this world will reflect back Heaven to you. I did the lessons as directed and by lesson 60 I was talking to Jesus, listening to the Holy Spirit, performing all kinds of miracles, etc. The world became ALIVE. Everything is alive. Death really is an illusion. We are blind, but we are deaf too. What I heard from meditating was incredible. I became very telepathic. But everything is alive! Everything has something to say if you are willing to listen to it.

When my father "died", he would not leave me or my sister alone. Everyday he made sure we were well aware of his presence. My sister and I would sometimes look at each other and say, "Yes, I see him." he would just light up the room! Not a physical light, but a spiritual light. It was as if the house had no roof and the sun was right over head. I would often look up to see if the roof was gone. There is no death! This my dad made sure I knew!

I can now see that, and that those images are just images and nothing more. It is amazing how powerful belief is........... I have always believed my thoughts and never questioned them before. I have never even thought about thinking about them !!!! Now I am looking at them, I can see that they have no power unless I empower them. Thanks Superlead. you are a great help

That is beautifully true and simple, but also the hardest thing to do !! I get panic attacks, and when having one I think that I am going to have a heart attack or go crazy........I then BELIEVE those thoughts at the time and try and run away from them. Looking when you are in terror/panic is the hardest thing to do, but I also know that I am going to have to face it some day, to overcome and defeat it. Thanks Superlead. :)

Many people seek eternal life, but we already have it. THIS IS IT! We are experiencing eternal life right now! That often blows my mind. I can watch the world do all it's changes and I can still feel the permanence in myself. Like watching TV. I can run through the channels, but I'm still just sitting in my chair.

Ashley Taylor It has worked for me. Because I wanted peace, I took the road to finding it. ACIM was my guide through all of the bumps, and this past Spring I experienced a profound awakening. I uncovered my strong longing to return to God while simultaneously releasing deep pain. The peace that settled after that moment in time was beyond understanding. This course is not easy because the barriers we have erected against God, Love, and peace have been given truth to us by our belief. Thank God for His Voice, the Holy Spirit, to show us the difference between truth and illusion, else we would all be lost forever. When I gave my wholehearted willingness to be led out - when I cried out in the midst of pain that I did not want to be afraid anymore - my journey accelerated. One thing that I have learned is an incredible learning tool is agreeing with a partner to join in the single purpose of being whole. When this is sincerely done, the purpose of your relationship is handed over to the Holy Spirit. It blows my mind that something so simple as a mere agreement can give you so much. To learn with your partner the meaning of love and holiness by simply agreeing to a single purpose seems impossible. It’s like gaining everything good that ever was or will be for a dollar. Yet that is what is given. I pray that this helps. There is so much more that can be said. Stay well.

Hearing the Holy Spirit is a telepathic experience. You don't physically hear the Holy Spirit. You hear him telepathically. THOUGHTS from seemingly nowhere pop into head, and you wonder where those thoughts came from, until you understand the thoughts, and then you KNOW where they came from, for the Holy Spirit says the most amazing things. Things you would never ever think of. So incredibly beautiful and wise. So kind and thoughtful. So personal and moving. I wonder why I don't meditate more!

Something tells me you are right there !! Also, being of service to others, even strangers, knowing that you may help someone or maybe give them a bit of hope. Looking back on my life, the more selfish that I have been also seem to be the times when I was not really the happiest. When I helped others more, they were actually the best times. That is definately the opposite to what the ego teaches.

I agree !!........ I feel for probably the first time in my life that I have some peace. It is not perfect yet but I am working on it and I am not going to give up now and go back to my old ways. It is only thanks to youtube that this has been possible for me, and without it, I would still be suffering terribly now with my illusions. It is nice to know that there are some free minds in the world, because every one I know here in the UK are still stuck in the old ego system.

Superlead, I went on a long walk in the woods yesterday, and spoke to Jesus and I got back a simple message that I am a powerful being, and have just been silly to believe otherwise. The voice was not sorrowful or pitying, it was sort of finding it quite amusing but not in a mocking way, but in a lighthearted way. It sort of said that we are so powerful, that we can actually believe that we are not powerful!!..... just a thought and BANG we can trick ourselves. I need to explore this one !!!!

That's the reason I was so compelled to read ACIM. Even though the information was so contrary to what I believed....the pieces fit so perfectly. There is no contradiction in ACIM. That's incredible when you consider what it's saying. No real detective in the world could doubt ACIM's story. It "airtight". Detectives always look for contractions when questioning a suspect. When there is a contraction, the detectives know something is not true. I was a cop in my last "life".

The spiritual path is much like rescuing kittens from trees. These beautiful and adorable kittens are lost, stuck, hungry, frightened, cold, lonely, in danger, etc and so we brave the rain and cold to climb up old ladders to save them, only to have them claw and bite us when we reach out to them. Yet we reach them anyways and just ignore their teeth and claws, for the immense joy of rescuing a little kitten obliterates any little pains we might have experienced.

Right! On an intellectual level we quickly learn that we are the eternal, invulnerable, love addicted, all powerful, all knowing, wildly creative children of God. Someone asks us who we are, and we can give them that answer. But we know it only on a most superficial level. We don't know it in our hearts. But like a seed, this knowledge of who we are grows roots that grow deeper. As we dwell on this knowledge we nurture it. Certainty strengthens, and we occasionally really notice it's growth.

Just be willing to face your fears and be willing to see them differently. I love, "I am upset because I see something that is not there." It's one of my favorite truths when I'm upset. Whatever is bothering me I can say, "I can suffer nothing." and it quickly lessons my fears. To remember the truth in our times of fear is so powerful!

A person's beauty is easily identified when we stop to think about what is a person's motivation. Our motivation is ALL things is our personal happiness. Yet, what makes us happy? Few people know what makes them happy. Ask an average person what would be paradise for them, and they have answers like, "All the free beer and sex I want." They have no idea what would make them happy. The truth is that what makes us happy is not getting anything, but being of service to those we love. How beautiful!

I have a cat I love dearly. She is 8 yrs. old and I know I will probably out live her. This pains me greatly, for I know I will miss her dearly even in the illusion of form. ACIM's goal is that we never suffer again, but we as long as we see this world, we will still have some heartaches. Just like a sad movie, even though we know it's just a movie with actors and a story line, we still cry. It's such a sad story!

The ego wants to change and control others. The spirit doesn't care what anyone does. It only cares what it does. What incredible freedom then to follow our spirits! Love me, hate me, abandon me, save me, whatever. It matters little to me. Now what I do to YOU. That's what matter to me. If I rob you, I have damned myself. If I bless you, then I have blessed myself. It's that simple. So much freedom in truth! So much to gain by being unselfish! Karma is real. Bless everyone!

What was shear hell became an incredible journey with Jesus. Every dark moment was turned into a glimpse of Heaven. It was dozens of miracles a day for 3 1/2 years! My blackest days were the most wonderful days of my life. I learned so much!!! Like, I learned I can easily survive anything if I have Jesus' eyes.

What I mean by gratitude is.......we have to value people. We have to love people. Surprisingly, we don't have to be loved to be happy. We ourselves need to love people. Even animals will do. I care for 9 feral cats. They do not love me, yet I still get great joy from seeing them healthy, happy and safe because I take care of them. I delight at seeing them enjoy the giant insulated cat house I built for them. I love to watch them eat and play. This is the joy in life! We must be heroes! Simple!

I was always taught by my father to think and think and think and I did well at school, university etc....... but it made me deeply troubled inside and very unhappy, but I never understood why. All one needs to do is LOOK........ so simple, yet enormously hard to do and more pwerful than any thoughts !!

Okay, so you're new to ACIM. Well, ACIM is like music, there is no limit to what you can learn. You can learn a little, and that would be wonderful, or you can go further, much further even. You can learn only certain styles too. But you CANNOT fail ACIM. And that's an extremely important thing to know about ACIM. You can't learn it all, you cannot fail, all effort made will have a great reward. You cannot come up empty handed. The ego focuses on results, but the spirit only on intentions!

  • @1971SuperLead
    @1971SuperLead11 жыл бұрын

The key to feeling the truth is to dwell on the truth. ACIM has us meditate on the truth, "I am not a victim of the world I see." and "The son of God can suffer nothing, and I am His son." are a couple examples. Wow! Do you believe it? No, not fully. Probably just barely. So dwell on it. Say it. Scream it. Say is with all the conviction you can muster. "I can suffer nothing!!!!" Repeat it hundreds of times a day. Say it slowly. Grasp it. Own it. Know it is TRUTH. The results will blow your mind

Within 2 months of starting to do the lessons of ACIM I was telepathic. What's funny is that I didn't know it. ACIM says to listen for the Holy Spirit's voice, and I kept thinking it was a physical voice I would hear. I had no idea it was otherwise. I would just keeping say, "Where did that thought come from???" and that thought was the Holy Spirit speaking to me! LOL And then talking to people...I couldn't understand the liars anymore. I thought I was losing my hearing instead of improving it.

A Course in Miracles tells us that Jesus has been selected to be the teacher of the Course. In the "Use of Terms" section it states, "[The Holy Spirit] has established Jesus as the leader in carrying out this plan, since he was the first to complete his own part perfectly."" Ok, so my question is, since Jesus was "the first" to complete his part perfectly, who was second? After Jesus, has anyone done this? Can anyone name somebody who has completed "his part perfectly"?? btw, the quote from the Use of Terms section is a perfect example of why ACIM is a works-based theology. It says, you must "complete" your "own part perfectly." On the other hand, Christianity is the ONLY faith-based theology in the WORLD. Christians know that there is no "works" we can do to achieve salvation. In fact, we don't have to. It has already been done by Jesus Christ and now "it is finished." (John 19:30)

Very astute. All I know is, as I read it and simply by doing this, I am peaceful. I even wake up this way. I no longer lose sleep over problems and am better able to communicate to others especially if their by acting 'confused'. I have traversed many spiritual, philosophical, psychologist etc texts and I can say it works. All I ever wanted is not to be tormented. However I do understand and respect no view here as my father is a born again Christian. I have no doubt in your words. I just find, within the realm of this physical life, I needed more than prayer, for, every time I prayed for I got a strange in impression that this is my work to achieve in life, for in heaven, this is a given. I don't have to accept that Jesus is actually talking in this book. However, I can't deny the power of its words and it's affects on my mind. I just wish y with the dreams 😁 of which have stopped.

We are not saved by works, but we are still called to do them. We are called to live in love, and in that love do charity to all men, especially those of the faith.

Hello William Keeler. THe ACIMitself does NOT say that.... You must have found that in an editorsnote or an introduction/review. In prefaces editors tend to speak about the issue of the Authorship. But the original handwriting of Helen does not state that at all.... BUT it implicitly DOES transpire through the texts that the voice continuously refers to the teachings and words of Yashua. So. Yes, in general it is believed the ACIM is written by Yashua. But it DOES NOT say that explicitly in the ACIM itself.

@@Pilot333 In the "Clarification of Terms -- The Holy Spirit," it says "He has established Jesus as the leader in carrying out His plan since he was the first to complete his own part perfectly. All power in Heaven and earth is therefore given him and he will share it with you when you have completed yours. The Atonement principle was given to the Holy Spirit long before Jesus set it in motion." Please let me know if this is not in your edition for "Clarification of Terms." Thanks.

Then there is no need to go to church. There's no need to pray. There's no need to repent. There's no need to even read the Bible. Because those are ALL works. If all one needs to do to go to heaven (according to modern Protestant Christian doctrine) is confess out loud you believe in Jesus (and all the churches have their own particular prayer that they say makes the conversion legit) and then that's it. You can just sit back with your golden ticket to heaven. No "works" needed. You're washed in the blood of the lamb ( being covered in sacrifice blood is a remnant of blood sacrifice cults, along with other various pagan rituals that were integrated into the early formation of the Roman empire Catholic Church) The modern church is EXACTLY as Jesus described. White washed tombs filled with the dead's bones.

Yes it is, and that's why ACIM has daily lessons, so we practice being ready to change our mind. If we do it several times a day, when the big one hits, we will remember to change our mind. We practice so it becomes automatic. We practice with little fears all day long, and so when the big ones hit......we are far more likely to remember to practice what we have learned.

My story is just as dramatic, but in slightly different ways. I ended up getting poisoned by a jealous family member........and WOW 3 years on, after severe trauma, panic attacks, depression, anxiety., here I am !!!!! The only thing that has helped has been youtube. I still am bewildered, but things are OK and will probably be better than they were before. I must have asked for it, and needed to learn a lesson but WOW...what a way to learn it !!!

The first step in altering your perception is realizing you are perceiving. Most people don't make it to this first step. In their arrogance they assume that they are not perceiving but actually seeing ...actuality. The truth is that perceptions are based on our beliefs. Beliefs are rarely true. Beliefs are alterable. You can choose new beliefs, and so you can choose new perceptions. If you choose not to take control of your perceptions....you still have made a choice regarding your perceptions.

Even those who suffer, will eventually wake up from the dream and realise the nightmare. Is Gods plan to make us all have heaven on earth? Surely if it is, then with world leaders having all the power, what chance does a mere human have standing up against the world. I have trouble with the few people that I speak to. They think I am barking mad already, and I haven't even told them yet that they aren't their bodies !!!

Yes, beliefs are very powerful, and yet we give little attention to them. We believe all kinds of things and can't even remember why we believed them to begin with. Years of my mother telling me I wasn't a good son had it's effect. I believed her, after all she was my mother and I just a child. Why would she lie? At age 16 I questioned that belief, and found it to be ridiculous. The next time she chastised me I just laughed and said, "Think whatever you want, mom. I really like myself."

Most people only learn when confronted by dramatic events. That should be enough to keep us learning so we don't have to face dramatic events. It always seems that the worst things that happen to us are done by family members. Certainly this is no coincidence. We need such incredible betrayals so that we learn we can't be betrayed. The invulnerable cannot be betrayed. What an awesome lesson to learn! Still, you might want to avoid eating with this person anymore. lol

Words really are for the Holy Spirit to work with!!! Lessons really do lessen our fears! That's their purpose. Coincidence? Nope! There are no coincidences! Reality is coincidence free! There are no accidents! Wild! By lessening our fears does the love that was always there come to our awareness. That's all ACIM really is! A way to lessen our fears! So simple! Always so simple! The truth is so simple!

Superlead, the hardest thing for me is to stop judging myself. I judge myself constantly for every little thing, and I am trying to get to the root of it. I know it is from the ego somewhere, and also a lack of self-worth, but the real root of it is somewhere that is hidden away from me and my ego wont let me go there.

In many ways my dad did teach me ACIM. He never angered, insulted, cried, defended himself, etc. He was extremely peaceful. My mother, on the other hand, was quite the opposite. I was ton in the middle. It was quite the situation. In all family drama I was always presented with the ego's and the right mind cases. Which to pick from? I usually sat somewhere in the middle. As a child, and even a teen, I was not ready for ACIM. I think we really need to see what the ego has to offer first.

I saw a beautiful young couple dressed in fine clothes and driving a fine car, and it was obvious that they had worked hard for those things, and I had to pity them. "Frikkin clueless." Is what I thought to myself. I know, for I too was once a beautiful young man, wearing fine clothes and driving a Corvette, and I too had worked hard for them, and I was frikkin miserable. I see miserable people everywhere. The ego is cruel. Free yourself from your ego and you will truly be free! FREE!

Hi Superlead, I knew that ages ago after I was poisoned. I literally knew nothing, but not in a nice way :( Uncertainty YES....... I can go along with that one. That is why death was so scary. Once we are no longer afraid of death, then we can live again. That is the only last hold that the ego has. That is my last challenge.

  • @dalemcmahon123

YES To reach life, we MUST face and conquer ALL of our fears. If we cling onto just one, then we are stuck. Our fears are what traps us into this false world. Even though the fears are fake, we need to believe it, so we need to conquer them to then realise that they were just tricks and illusions. The fear of death has to be the ultimate fear. That is the last one that my ego has now got over me. Once I conquer this, then I am free to live again!! I know now my task, so here goes !!!!!!!!

As I first became telepathic I had all kinds of strange experiences. Like someone would say, "Good morning" to me, but I would also hear "Fuck you." at the same time. At work I was accused of bugging someone's office because I knew things I was not supposed to know. Try explaining you are just telepathic! At the store this lady looked at my shoes and thought, "Ugly shoes!" and as I walked past her I said, "Yes, but they are extremely comfortable." She nearly ran out of the store.

I too used to think that everyone was fine and happy and that I was the freak. I felt like the handbook to life had been handed to everyone but me. Somehow I didn't get the book, and no one knew I didn't get the book. I felt this way until I quit therapy. My shrink said I wasn't cured and shouldn't quit, but I told him, "What I've learned from you is that I'm not the only person who's fucked up. Everyone is." He said, "I'm not fucked up." I just laughed and walked away. Almost everyone is sad.

You're not alone. This world is far too busy for such silly things as self analysis. We are too busy with the externals to address the internals. Mind exploration is something hippies did while on LSD, after all! We are not dirty hippies! LOL But what's inside is actually far more powerful and interesting than what is on the outside. Oh the stories I can tell you! What great power there is in learning how to operate one's own mind! It's like getting our first car again! Now we are going places!

According to ACIM, man's greatest fear is facing the fact that he knows nothing. He knows not who he is, where he is, what he's doing or even if he is doing anything at all. Facing this uncertainty terrifies us, and this is a reason why we cling to the ego, for the ego seems like it knows a lot. It truly takes a miracle to let go of our ego, for we are terrified to admit the ego knows nothing. Uncertainty is our greatest fear.

Ah! So it but seems! In reality, no one can shatter our peace. We but do it to ourselves. This is a lesson we learn over and over again until finally we have learnt it. The instant our peace is shattered we have the opportunity to learn once again that no one can shatter our peace but ourselves. We but do it to our self! Peace is a gift from God! No one can take it away from us! A miracle is all it takes for us to learn this lesson once again. Learning involves repetition. So does unlearning.
