Tips for keeping the Yankee Candle jar clean: 1) trim the wick before lighting it; 2) don’t put it near an air flow; 3) instead of blowing out the candle, put the wick in the candle’s hot wax: this way there will be no black smoke. Plus, if your jar is already black, you can clean it easily with a wet cloth!
