A cop pulled me over on a racetrack

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Ed has had some crazy cop encounters but this might be the strangest. During a Porsche track event at Atlanta Motor Speedway he got pulled over for going too fast.

Apparently there are many who are decent peacekeepers, but there are also a lot of a-holes that are power mad and some will arrest a nurse who is on duty inside a hospital or shoot you in the back or pull up and empty a 16-round clip into you when another cop's there and has more knowledge of what is going on. Not to mention one horse towns with one traffic light that only has two colours, red and green they can use to bust them rich turists fer "runnin' a red light and the fine's payable in cash right now isn't that handy for you?" kancer kid27 might be a safety issue usually when people break records like that there is a top speed that you can't exceed because if you do you'll just crash into the person in front of you and if you have over 200 Cars on a standard race track the chances of you crashing into another car is very high or going at high speed

  • @n0oo7

    @n0oo7

    More like they probably set a speed limit since there is supposed to be a shit ton of cars on the track, and he broke the speed limit. Or the speed limit is freeway speeds when not everyone on the road is properly trained in how to race. I do believe this wasn't a race so there should be no reason to drive as fast as you could.

    One time I was driving on an empty highway at 3am and I see a car coming up behind me extremely quickly. Thinking it’s someone enjoying the empty straight away I started to speed up to about 100mph because I like to have some fun too. That’s until the car has gotten closer to me and I realize it’s a cop with no lights on. I didn’t slow down but coasted hoping he wouldn’t realize me speed and thankfully he blew by me at probably 130mph and never slowed down or put on his lights. To this day I wonder if he knew I was going 100mph and didn’t care or if he was actually speeding with a purpose and couldn’t be bother by me

    I used to have an M5 and it’s the best car I’ve ever had. I paid £15,000 for a 7 year old car with 85,000 miles and a full service history. I kept it for 2 years and put just under 40,000 miles on it and sold it for £16500 and I had not a thing to do to it apart from check the oil.

    Yeah he really couldn't do anything, even escorting you off the property, unless by request of the owner. Similar thing happened few years ago in Indianapolis at Lucas oil race way at a car show. Cop tried to pull people over that were on the track. Event coordinator requested the officer leave the property due to harassing patrons on private property.

    "Yeah he really couldn't do anything, even escorting you off the property," You know they don't have to get permission on a case by case basis to kick people out right? The minute they are on the job in that hired capacity they are already given that authority. It's like you're trying to say a store manager can't kick someone out of a store because he's not the owner of said store... In both cases by the power of the job they have currently gives them the ability to kick you off property... But hey you're probably one of those people "I know mah rights!!"

    CLASSIC...reminds me of the 4th time I was headed south to the NOPI NATIONALS at the Atlanta Motor Speedway...went down with Super Street Magazine on their "Super Street Tour"...as a bonus if you signed a waiver you could do 3 LAPs with all the other cars they let out in that group..WELP since I had done this B4 in yrs past I got over the CRAZY degree of embankment of the track and floored it and passed EVERYONE including the pace car (1st yr with a pace car, no1 toldme) hit 111mph at MAX (just a 91 Chevy w/ a 3.1)....as we exited, had 2 track officials chase me down...a LONGER STORY but keeping it short, just apologized ("did it in yrs past & no problems"), played? stupid & was BS'in with them that day & the rest of the weekend....they had POLICE at all the high ends of the embankments but they never did anything2anyone

    They're not really acting as law enforcement in that situation. He was probably hired as a private security guard. Cops do that all the time and they still get to use the car, uniform, gun etc. The advantages are obvious, - if a person is asked to leave and refuses, the security guard doesn't have to call the cops. He could probably not have issued a ticket or anything in this case, as long as Ed left when asked. As for asking for an explanation (i.e. "and just what do you think you're doing" etc.) that's just something they're trained to ask to get you to say something incriminating. Probably not relevant in this case but old habits and all that...

    I was at a failed Nascar track that was down to running 1/8 mile "Run what you brung drag races" in about 2005. You could stand 5ft away from tubbed out supercharged cars doing burnouts with no barrier of any kind. Very safe. A young guy on a GSXR ran thru 1st gear and part of 2nd wide open from an infield parking lot down an access road to the track. There was NO ONE out there but him. A local cop lit him up and he was escorted from the track. I was very confused as to how this endangered anyone.

    My first ticket was when I was 16 and left high school on a bike out the front gate, which had a stop sign just outside. I was 2 miles down a hill when I realized I was being chased by a cop. Ticket was for not stopping at the stop sign at the top of the hill lol. I always wondered where that cop went, and now I know.
