I've been binging the hell out of these interviews. I was 18 years old and got into in flames, cradle, covenant, dimmu. I was there for all this shit back in the day and it's awesome hearing all these interviews with metal legends.

@@ScarsandGuitarspodcast Thanks man, it's much appreciated. Because of you I now know Astennu is back in action, has a new album on the way, and practicing to go tour with The Kovenant. I never stopped listening to new music, but there's something special about so many of those albums from the late 90s. Listening to your interviews I've learned so much about what was going on behind the scenes while on my side I was pre ordering my copies of albums like cruelly and the beast from rocking horse in Brisbane.

This has become my favourite metal podcast. Clearly you came up through the mid-late 90s extreme metal scene and share most of the same tastes that I do. Another solid guest! Jester Race and Whoracle are both pivitol albums for me. I worshipped Jesper for years as a young fan. I can't wait to listen!

Thanks mate! Yeah, my invested years were from 1994 to 1999. I made it a mission to get my hands on every copy of Metal Maniacs and spent hours chatting with people on those GeoCities websites that had message boards, all through dial-up internet. To me, all the crucial albums from that era remain the pinnacle of extreme metal. In Flames' material, in particular, stands as some of the greatest - and it still holds up!
With all respect to Jake and Cyhra, but when Jeppe joins the conversation jesterhead mode is on. We are all desperately want to know more about Jesper, his time in IF, his contribution to songwriting, his inspirations, way of writing music etc. Next time would be awesome to do it only with Jeppe with a bunch of questions for him. His swenglish is more than understandable. Cheers

On top of death metal, Jesper was also a crucial part of Hammerfall on the first three albums. The songwriting was the best in Hammerfall's career and it's no coincidence that Jesper is credited on nearly every song on Glory To The Brave, Legacy Of Kings & Renegade. Jesper was part of bringing metal back into good standing with Hammerfall in those days

I think Jesper kind of prefers that right now. I think he likes someone else to step into the conversation. And they were also in a time crunch for another interview

When the interview was booked, it was only to be with Jake. I don’t know for sure, but it’s my understanding that Jesper isn’t available for scheduled interviews. Apart from mine there is one other one out there with him recently (A&P reacts- would love to know how he got the 1on1…) and that’s it. Believe me, I would love to do a Stuart Anstis-style deep dive with Jesper and get the lowdown on everything, but I just don’t think it’s possible.

@@ScarsandGuitarspodcast If i may say so your cradle and anstis deep dives were epic level man . I grew up with principle , vempire , dusk and cruelty, what an era. I remeber teh cruelty cross-box-set came out with 4 extra tracks, it was my pride and joy !
