I was always told to grow howarthia in the shed, but I give mine almost full sun and they haven’t died on me yet, they do color up amazingly and you really can never overwater them when you’re giving them the conditions they need.

what a pity to have such a well known and respected plant man and not ask him the real questions. What is a good soil mix, fertilizer , pollination, germinating seed, potting on so many questions to ask this great man and we hardly got anything

For real, this was a little painful. No offense to our host here, but I found myself exclaiming out loud by the end of the video.

Wow! Interesting to see how the Haworthia collection of the master looks like. They are potted the way the plants survive in their natural habitat. And of course hear him talk. Would have loved if he demonstrated how to compose potting mix, suitable pot type/sizes for various climates, explain light requirements, plant care, shown how to repot a few different types of haworthia.

I visited many Haworthia in native habitat in Cape Provence most are extremely camouflaged in leaf litter well shaded by larger shrubs and small trees.

I have the spiral haworthia and i was wondering how long it'll take to flower. Also, mine is completely green (dark green) and super big with multiple layers of leaves and i was wondering if that's normal since the ones shown were super pink in color and didnt have many layers. Thanks!

Many different varieites. They need to dry out a bit when not actively growing, summer warm months.

I have good luck with bright indirect light. Grow lights work well. Too shady and they get more green. Too bright and they may get sunburn. Start out more shady and gradually increase until you find the sweet spot.
