Thanks for the clear explanation. I work from Lightroom, with the setting "Automaticaly open all supported JPG" in Camera Raw, "Edit in Adobe Photoshop 2021 ..." will only open Edit a Copy and Edit Orignal in Camara Raw, not Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments. This last one is immediately opened in Photoshop 22.3.0. This works at JPG. RAW (CR2) photos are not opened in Camara Raw from Lightroom but immediately in Photoshop. If you want to use enhance, you must first save the crop as a JPG.

Hey Anthony, if you are in Photoshop you can do File > Open and when the window pops up with your files, simply select the file and change the JPEG Format to Camera Raw. That way, if you don't want to be in camera raw every time you open a jpeg or Tiff file you won't be. Also, you.don't have to have a Raw file to change the File Handling settings in Camera Raw.

Hey Anthony: watched this one and the new Super Resolution youtube. . When I send a RAW file from Lightroom to PS via the "Edit with Photoshop 2021, I don't get a choice to open it in Camera Raw and take advantage of Super Resolution because the Camera Raw filter doesn't have that. So how do I send a RAW file from Lightroom directly to Camera Raw like you've shown here?

In Adobe Bridge you can open any file type (without layers) in ACR by using the shortcut Command (Mac) or Control (PC) R or File-->Open in Camera Raw.

Hi Anthony. What's your opinion of the advantage of this approach vs just importing all jpg and heic into LR as well as raw? (This is now days my approach and then I use LR for everything and launch PS from within LR only for those that need advanced processing or for multiple Topaz adjustments etc)

I prefer Lightroom and importing all of my images there and using Photoshop as a LR plugin. There are some people that use Photoshop and don't use LR -- this video is more for those folks.

If I am in Bridge and I select a camera raw image and say open in PS...PS opens the file in Camera Raw. How do I stop this? When I am in bridge and I say open in PS I want the file to open in PS NOT Camera raw. How do I get this to work? Thanks

Have PS 222.3.0 release and those file handling preferences are not what you show. Now What? Never mind I found it ... I apparently missed a step. Thanks

I'm sorry I'm dense about this, but why would you want to do this, go into ACR everytime? What do you get out of it.. I do use LR9.4, so I get that this is done internally everytime. I don't understand. Silly me. Thanks

Very useful, that "feature" has annoyed me for years and such a simple fix,

I have the latest version of PS and ACR and HEIC does not show in my file handling preferences. Only JPG and TIFF. Does HEIC only show on the MAC version of PS?

What is the HEIC format?

It's similar to JPEG but smaller and it contains more image info. For example, if taken with a compatible camera, depth info is in the file. With depth info, one could blur out the background or light the subject in post production. Mobile Phone cameras often utilize HEIC.

Better to explain that the full setting listings must be OPENED WITH RAW files, otherwise, it's confusing opening a JPEG file. The latter part of the video needs to come first. tnx.
