I swear to the Christ this song is such an earworm. The 80’s synthwave vibe always gets me every time (probably a taste thing lol). The bit about changing up the final chorus is something I think I agree with, especially with what they did with the extra stacked harmonies and whatnot. It definitely works, but there’s a lot of potential for so much more, like a key change or variation in rhyme scheme or something. Idk. But yeah. Super stoked you got around to this one!

I wish they would turn this into an epic saga.

23:20 that part is the best part of the song its just give me goosebumps its so good and i LOVE the build up to it and like you said the lyrics are amazing for it but even still the whole song is amazing

I love the attention to detail, the "you can beat my wife" scene changing the tone for the video is hilarious in a wholesome way. Also the attention to the many details that make such a hilarious song STILL feel really epic. A lot of simple dance moves while they sing (many of which you pointed out) just make it epic with mere body language. Top tier song AND video, AND reaction.

At 14:00 It's a comedy song narrating very violent things and they could have gotten away with showing "beat my wife" but as they prove, they don't need to show abuse, in fact they elevate into another comedy

I had no idea what they were saying with "parents parents" until this video, now it's one of my favourite clever bits of the song

I love how they turn it up to 11 and then go even further - and do it with such enthusiasm that it seems as though they're taking this seriously. Which makes it even funnier and even more catchy

27:20 I see the repetition in scene of beating the villain as "we now do to you what you did to us". Its kind of my interpretation on this.

Love this song and your reaction here. I also immediately thought of Don't Wear Those Shoes the first time I heard this, and that is one of Als lesser known songs and albums in general. Fun stuff.

The Hokey Pokey is amazing, and there is no need to justify it. Old aspect ratio was 4:3, so not quite square. And this is why we know that Frank's 2000" TV is 1600" wide by 900" tall. Ian: "There's a narrative going on in music videos..." Me: Unless you're TMBG. They're just utterly bizarre. Is it just me, or does Connor Boyd, the Cloginator, look like Ian? Thinking about List Songs, and One More Minute springs to mind, of course. But then so does The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything.

this is the first react to this banger i've found, that's worth a sub.

Spotify randomly recommended me this song (which is odd since a lot of my stuff recently has been between Folk, Metal and Grunge, yes I know it's a weird mix shut up), and having listened to it and then gone through the experience of watching the music video I can't believe how much of a banger this goofy song about wooden shoes is. i somehow got this song to my second most played song on spotify my number 1 was wonderwall with over 9000 plays haha-

One thing that bothered me was the disassociation the opening lyrics have with what is happening in the music video. It starts with "Years before I was born, Father told this to me", implying that the first verse is about when the Father was a child getting the clogs passed on to him from his father (the Grandfather). But in the song, the Protagonist is shown as a child there with the Father and Grandfather.

I figured it was just creative license, as the father is receiving it from the grandfather, but the son is there seeing it because the story is being told to him so he feels like he's there. This kind of thing happens in movie and shows all the time too.

Since you're a comedy musician, have you reacted to Julien Bam's "Märchen in Asozial" (fairytales, but it's antisocial) and "Songs aus der Bohne" (songs from the bean)? Note: The Saga at the end of the story involves characters from before "Märchen in Asozial" came out, but they should be easy to spot since they're Santa, Easter Rabbit, and Tooth Fairy. Tooth Fairy is a bit more like white grim reaper, tho.

Hello, New sub here! If your looking for a song with hilarious lyrics, I would recommend "You belong Here" by JT Music. It would make my day. (Or you could listen to the Fnaf 3 rap Another Five Nights. It's also a good one)

My thought was that it as a send-up of Blue Suede Shoes.

I've done a Bo Burnham reaction before (when Bo's songs from INSIDE were nominated for that year's Logan Awards) but it's a little tough to do because they get claimed and blocked by Netflix. I've seen all his specials before INSIDE tho.
