A Man, a Gatekeeper who guards the mighty garden, Shangri-La which is said to be a healing place for the one with sorrows. The gatekeeper, a punctual and law-abiding employee duly performed his duties day in and day out. His existence is suddenly questioned when he encounters an old man with so many mysteries. A day of realisations, the guard was about to contemplate existence as a mysterious medley of time and space. What if space, time, truth, lies are all part of a magical realm where everything is understood by "Mu", an expression which can be read as "nothingness".

Uddharani (English title: Allusion) is an independent experimental film made in Malayalam language. This film is shot in black and white while emphasising some distinguishing colours. Uddharani is set in a fictional garden named "Shangri-La" after the fictional place from James Hilton's renowned novel "Lost Horizon". The film is about the Gatekeeper of the garden, Shangri-La, and tells about the existential crisis he faces.The film has inferences from the Malayalam novel, "Dharmapuranam" written by O V Vijayan and from Hermann Hesse's magnum opus "Siddhartha".
The film discusses topics like Kalachakra, Immortality, Spirituality, Purpose of life, and war.
