A Club for Toy Soldier Collectors in Ottawa?
This video introduces the Ottawa chapter of the Ontario Model Soldier Society (OMSS). This is a club for toy soldier enthusiasts in the Ottawa area who meet once per month at The Barley Mow restaurant in Nepean, 1541 Merivale Road. Some of the members of the Ottawa chapter live a 60 or 90-minute drive from The Barley Mow restaurant. Details regarding the dates and times for meetings of the Ottawa chapter can be found on the "OMSS Ottawa" Facebook Group. New members are welcome.
Membership in the Ottawa chapter of the Ontario Model Soldier Society offers a broad range of benefits to toy soldier collectors.

Hi Mark and Scott, Thank you very much for this presentation on the Ottawa Chapter of the OMSS. Scott is right we have quite a diverse range of expertise within the club, from collecting figures either in pewter, or plastic, and other materials such as porcelain and even aluminium, which I did not know till one of our members brought one for us to see. Then there are the different sizes or scales covered by the Ottawa membership from 1/87, 15mm, 1/72, 25mm, 28mm, 1/35, 1/32, 54mm all the way up to 1/6th figures. In addition to collecting, some of us also design, make or paint our own figures, so one is bound to find others in the club with similar interests. With two modern, active pewter casters in Ontario just for historicals (Crucible Crush, Tundraworks), I wouldn't say that casting is a totally lost art.
