    As wonderful as you think your regular walking foot is the Dynamic version is just that. Dynamic. I was having problems with my original one giving me intermitant awful stitches on the back of my quilt and after turning a corner on binding the corner would get caught under it. So off to the store I went yesterday. Was first horrified at the price but figured I had enough fabric to work with I could spend the money on a good tool. Worth. Every.Penny. Thankfully my quilt shop gives a 20% discount on accessories if you bought your machine from them so I'm thrilled.

    Very helpful. I just purchased a Brother CS700i, and was confused why the manual tells me not to use the walking foot that came with the machine for decorative stitches. The instructions only allow a straight or zig zag stitch with the walking foot. I’m brand new to quilting and everyone in the quilt group I joined uses their walking foot to do curvilinear stitching for quilting (the wavy stitch). The manual states that the walking foot is not made to handle any reverse stitches, but that wavy stitch (and a few others) don’t require any reverse stitches. It’s a help to know that this dynamic walking foot is a better option. Frankly, the walking foot that came with the machine is not doing a good job on a quilt sandwich using the zig zag stitch. The stitching is very uneven. Could be the operator however😅.

    @stlmama7643 Yes this foot is fantastic for those decorative stitches when quilting! It also has the interchangeable toes which makes it super versatile!

    I just bought a brother after using an older singer. The plastic walking foot that comes with the NEW brother goes on crooked when it is attached securely. Thus risking a broken needle and possibly more damage. I hope brother isn't going to change an arm and a leg for a proper walking foot that should have been provided when their machines are purchased.

    Hello Sir, very nice demonstration. I've just very recently learnt how to use a sewing machine though I've got knowledge of sewing as I've always been a hand sewing person. I want to do some quilt placemats using 2 cotton fabric and batting. Having watched different tutorials, some recommend the use of a walking foot. My sewing machine (a Silver Crest brand from Lidl) does not have this equipment and it seems it's difficult to get one. My query is, should I face any difficulty using the standard presser foot of the machine, or this might cause a problem either to the machine or the finish look of the placemat? Thank you in advance for your time and help. Happy Holidays, Greetings from Cyprus 🎄☃️🎅🎁

    @annitagalvan9049 It is best if you can use a walking foot. If you can take your foot pressure right off you could possibly be able to get no puckering. Baste the three layers really well together before starting.

    I just got this foot and I found I had to adjust the thread tension to get a good stitch. The only problems are that sometimes I get loopy stitches, and also in reverse mode, the top stitches get wonky after about an inch. ANy advice?

    @@EchidnaClub I am using the Brother Simplicity SB3150 which is like the Babylock Brilliant. The problem happened with fleece fabric, polyester sew-all thread and I tried stretch, ballpoint and universal needles.

  • @EchidnaClub

    @EchidnaClub

    Жыл бұрын

    @knittysong With any fabric it is normal to adjust the tension to suit what you are stitching on. If the fabric is not a light one, we would recommend you use at least a size 12/80 - if it is a stretch fabric, use a stretch needle. Sometimes to get it to stitch nicely on stretch, a stabiliser does help as well, depending on what you are sewing.
