Thank you so much. It feels good to get rid of this old inventory. I may make this an annual thing 😜 But I do have to say listing on eBay is a hundred times easier than putting on a garage sale 😬😳😵‍💫

I am part time as a retirement hobby and I have been going through my totes once a year. Plus I only try to keep about 5-6 active totes. I get anxious if I have too much stuff ! LOL I could never do this full time too much "stuff" gives me anxiety. LOL.

It was good to get confirmation that it's okay to get rid of things that aren't selling, so thank you for that! I'm also in the desert (Phoenix) and have started to clear out items I won't be able to sell on whatnot (whenever I get the nerve up to do my first one) and were just not great buys to begin with. It's definitely a learning process and after being at it for over a year now I feel like I've got a better grasp on what not to pick up and my spidey senses seem to be getting better on things I can't comp (app won't work, etc.)😉 Great teaching video!

Howdy neighbor! 100%!! We learn so much as we go, why keep hanging in to items you would never buy again 🤷 that is why the #1 rule in reselling is buy it right! So if/when the item doesn't sell it's a very small loss.

I do the same thing... I have a sale about 2X a year... spring and fall.. That's also where I get rid of the "why did I buy that?" pile 😄

That is a great question. I kind of include it when I'm talking in a few different videos. But the whole idea is you want to take the number of what is available divided by how many are sold you always want more sold than available. That is when the cell through rate is over 100%.

Such great sales! Really love the idea of going through inventory, yours is looking great! I’m so new I have less than 100 listings but I’m learning so much from your channel. I’m curious what items did you start with when you first started reselling and did you slowly add different items? I’m only listing clothes, shoes and books right now. I don’t want to take on too much being so new at it.

You are doing it 100% correct. Focus right now on items that you know and are easy for you to research or test. I personally started with electronics because I know them and like them. And then slowly added other hard goods like kitchenware and small appliances. But I only added another niche as I perfected the one prior. So that's just a Google sheet. Different tabs for each month and a master tab for inventory. I put the box info inside eBay under custom SKU.

Great video! Question… prior to completely delisting and putting aside for a garage sale, do you price change? I Would think that it is possible to sell some of the older inventory at cheap prices but still more than a garage sale price. Thoughts?

I do. For the past 6 months I was running markdown sales. Based on age I would offer a percentage off. Older items would be up to 50% off! That did help clear some inventory but not all of it

I have some books listed for months now with zero views what do you think the problem could be

Books are very slow sellers for me. Keep listing a variety of items and items that sell fast. Always watch the sell through rate. My business completely changed when I focus on fast selling items with high sell through 😁

Do you find it better to sell the silverware in small lots rather than a full serving set?

That depends on the style. I base it on what sold in the past for that style. This particular style does better split up. Most of the time, I list flatware as a SET. This would have been over $500 as a set, and I know that is a lot to ask for silverware.

Thanks...just found you! I have a question: How do you ship a large number of books that will require more than one box? And ship Media Mail? I have 53 books that total 90 lbs! Cant even figure out how to get the listing done.

Thank you so much for watching. If you have to split it up I would still do calculated shipping and put the 90 lb. And once you ship it you can load the second tracking number for the second box.
