There was a time in Australia when absolutely no one cared in the slightest what people did in their own homes behind locked doors. Court telling the homosexual world that they don't (or shouldn't) have the same rights as "the straight" world, smacks of arrogance, prejudice and intolerance. She can have any view of society she wants, but "freedom of speech" should not give her "clearance" of consequences just because she was a former great in some sporting field. What right do they have to come here and make political statements. Evonne Goolagong was a great player but Margaret Court was a champion player far longer and deserves this honour. They are entitled to their opinion but they should not come here and tell us what we should do. I do not agree with Court's opinion in regard to gay marriage but I will defend her right to say it. John McEnroe was a cheat who used his emotional outbursts to unsettle his opponents and was also a bully towards the umpires and lines people. He is no role model. As for Martina, she was a very talented player and I admired her tremendously. Now though I feel the opposite.
