I once had a Case 870 power shift tractor. Good tractor, did alot of heavy work with it. However when those power shifts go bad you can have some problems! The clutch disks do wear out eventually on those tractors. Also and what scared the heck out of me was when my tractor was sitting in the barn idling in neutral it slipped into gear on its own! When the synchronizers wear out in the transmission you can leave the tractor sitting still idling in neutral and the tractor will all the sudden slip back into gear. Needless to say the tractor tore half the barn up. The only thing that stopped it was a post big enough to stop the tractor and made the wheels spin down. I'm posting this to warn anyone around a 70 series power shift tractor to be extremely careful. If you get off the tractor for any reason it may be a good idea to shut the engine down. It wasn't long after the barn incident that 1st and 2nd went out on my power shift. Only 1st and reverse were working. Also the transmission got to where it wouldn't go into 2nd and 4th range. Probably synchronizers again? At that point it was going to cost me way more to repair the tractor then what it was worth. I'm very thankful that I didn't get myself or someone else hurt or killed during the barn incident! So everyone please be careful around the old power shift tractors or any tractor for that matter. God bless

I was honestly really hoping you’d leave the cab on. It gave the tractor a lot of character. Besides that it wasn’t that loud and the a/c worked. But that’s just me. Just kinda sucks when a video pops up of a tractor with a unique cab and the first thing that happens is it gets taken off. I understand with this one being a rare bird and all so maybe you can put it on a different open station tractor that’s less rare or sell it to someone that could use it. I personally would love one with the shades like that because I’m more sensitive to the heat. Not to mention how much character it gives. To be completely honest, the cab is what made me click on the video. I think if I read the description beforehand, I would’ve closed it and moved on. I was hoping you’d keep the tractor as is and use it, but that’s just me. I guess you have to do what you have to do when running a business. Hopefully you or someone else can get some good use out of that cab.
@tmonteIH
Ай бұрын
I seriously doubt someone would ever show up and give me $100 for that cab. Every time I leave a cab like that on a tractor all people do is complain. Go to take it off and people complain. Good thing is it’s my tractor and I coughed up the catch for it. My call that it comes off.
@TheRealKyonko
Ай бұрын
@@tmonteIH I get you. It’s your tractor and ultimately it’s your decision on what to do with it. You paid for it and you own it and that’s that. To be honest I’d give you $100 for that cab but I live several states away and lack a tractor to put it on. I’m not even sure I have the means to get it aside from paying to have someone ship it. In a perfect world I’d get it and throw it on a 50 series Oliver, get the a/c working, and farm all day with it. But that’s just dreaming. Hopefully I didn’t come off as rude in my initial comment. I wanted to be respectful but also voice my honest opinion on the matter. But I understand the frustration with people complaining regardless of what you do. If anything, you could do a poll on whether to keep one on or remove it. But in this situation you did what you wanted with it and that’s completely fine.
