A Candid Conversation with Ricky Carmichael on Triumph’s All-New TF250-X Dirt Bike

Ricky Carmichael's role at Triumph America is much more than you'd think. He's not just taking pictures and signing autographs, but he's helping test and develop the all-new 2024 Triumph TF250X, he helped develop the new 250F, he's currently helping them develop the 2025 Triumph TF450X and he's helped steer them in the right direction with their race team as well. We enjoyed hanging out with Ricky at the Triumph intro in Florida the other day, he was very open and easy to talk to about the exciting new venture for Triumph. This is a candid interview between Josh Mosiman and Ricky Carmichael, with an impromptu visit from Dennis Stapleton jumping in for the later portion of the video.

Man this is one of the best interviews I've seen in a while. I love Ricky Carmichael, he's so humble but confident in himself and their product and I really appreciate the MXA crew bringing us such solid content & for continuing to release a print magazine! I've been a subscriber to MXA since I was 9 years old & I'm now 31 and I'm still loving MXA just as much as I did when I was a kid.

🐝🏁 Great video 👍. I remember the old day when Ricky's mom used to tell him to get out of the chair and go ride the motorcycle. Ricky's mom was awesome making him a world class athlete. One of the best motorcrossers ever. Love the Carmichael family

Motocross action is hilarious. They critique bikes and aren’t afraid to offend anybody. My favorite quotes were “when entering a corner the back wheel refuses to follow the front, but it will surrender after a fight. “(2003 Ktm 250sx). And my other favorite,”the frame is overly stiff so you would think they would overcome it with plush forks. Instead, the forks feel like they are filled with cement. Between the forks and frame this bike feels like you’re riding a jackhammer. “(2003 rmz 450). Hilarious. I love MXA. 😂

Very good Josh! And RC, the GOAT... well, I know nothing, but just presumed they had him on board because was the Goat. But you can tell from this, he was very invested in it, and very proud of his work and involvement of this bike. Have a few new brands this year and so on, is so good for the dirt bike market.

I understand the focus is all about this being their first MX bike to market, however you have to know many many of us want to know two things : when will they actually be available to take home, and what it the current time line for the 450?

@@MrKnnthc93 💯% agree. 350, or anything between 350 & 390 built on the lighter 250 crank is the next gold mine for dirt bikes. Based on "this" 250 I would be the first person at my dealership for a 3xx.

I have the highest respect for Ricky Carmichael. I've watched him throughout his entire career. Having grown up in the 70s riding motocross, I've been deeply involved in dirt bikes. I know he worked with Roger Decoster, who, to me, was one of the greatest and most influential riders of his time. I believe Ricky will continue to be one of the most consistent and positive figures in motocross, supercross, and dirt biking in general.
