My Quest 3 Honest Review - • The Quest 3 Is Everyth...
---
For starters, this device is great and I can honestly say if you get it - you'll enjoy it.
I think the price point is what's going to be most people's deciding factor so the Quest 3 is the better option in many cases. For people that love apple products and also like their products being connected and seamless, this is for you.
Overall, I really enjoyed the Vision Pro and will be keeping it. For someone like myself that works on my MacBook daily, I think it's a great purchase. The immersive mode is by far the best I've used and something that can truly allow me to lock in and focus when I need to. This device has a bright future and I can't wait for more/better apps to be released.
Don't fall into the realm of which one is better, I see this debate often and it's pointless. You'll have fun with both! If you are already in the apple ecosystem, you'll have more fun with the AVP.
Let me know if you have any questions, peace!

8:04 - gaming is not where this device shines
9:10 - the passthrough mode on the AVP
10:00 - watching content/movies/music etc
10:30 - having access to your iCloud
11:26 - immersive mode is better on the AVP
13:24 - the AVP is more of a blank canvas, it's truly what you make it
14:00 - Apple has effectively boosted the VR market as a whole with this release
15:20 - how does the AVP compare to the Quest 3?
16:20 - if you like apple products and want VR, you'll def love the AVP
16:48 - both devices are great
17:15 - I don't think any VR headset is going to get used 24/7

17:55 - if you work on your MacBook a lot, you'll enjoy the AVP
18:00 - casual VR people should stick to the Quest 3

I am noticing an issue where if I look down fast or sometimes even to the side quickly the passthrough does some kind of weird autocorrect and kinda re centers itself although it doesn't need to. It pretty disorienting but it happens so quick. Does this happen to you as well? I'm just trying to figure out if this is something unique to my device

Great review. I think you did a good job. Especially early on establishing the devices are for different audiences even if you never said it directly. The Quest is for the people who want the ability to do certain things. The user experience is NOT as important as the price. The AVP is for people who want the ability to do certain things and the price is NOT as important as the user experience. I love how Apple has created a sense of physical 3D space, it’s the little things like how the light from the REAL world reflects off virtual images even creating shadows and Spatial Audio. I love how it’s real 3D with windows stacked behind other windows and staying fixed. It literally convinces my brain they are there. I have watched videos from true videophiles blown away by the media fidelity. Many swear they can no longer watch their 4k 75 inch tv (or 3D TV’s) because the AVP is just better. I think one XR enthusiast explained the 4k tv measurements are different than 4k VR’s. The pixel count is more concentrated in VR.

thank you for watching. I thought it was def important to knock out pricing first so that we could truly look at the device itself for what it currently is. and I do agree, apple is trying to create a real 3d physical space which in itself is a difference experience. I hadn't even noticed the lights reflecting which is pretty amazing. I was somewhat familiar with Spatial Audio being that I've been using the pro max for a few years now but I don't think they always called it that (unless I just missed it.) It's interesting about the TV's though, I still prefer my Samsung tv but it is very soothing to watch content on here. you def can tell the difference when looking through the 2 screens, so I can def see how it's more concentrated as well. overall it's a dope device and it's only going to improve

@@11.Pierre I’m so glad you kept yours. It’s people like you who know where improvements are needed most. Plus competition helps EVERYBODY, regardless of what manufacturer we prefer. I’ve said it before, Apple, developers and engineers are all listening to the real buyers, not people complaining on the internet. You were so right about the purchase can be justified depending on how you use it. I could not afford this one but I am fascinated that something like this is coming my way. I’m leaving you MY wish list hoping you will wear out that “Product Feedback” portal with your suggestions. I want the ability to share with family and friends. It’s so much easier to convince people it’s for everybody not just me. I would like to see new head straps and heat shields for comfort. More environments, why not bring over those BEAUTIFUL dynamic screensavers from the Apple TV?. PC direct connection and Apple Pencil support. Looking forward to your next video.

1000% agree. Competitive is better for all consumers and it’ll just challenge folks to get it right. With any purchase, people have to know what they’re getting themselves into. Once you know, I can still say people will enjoy this product. And yeah a lot of people buy things just to rush out content but when it comes to expensive stuff I always do my homework and make sure I know what I want before I get it. I’m sure the 3rd party accessories are coming and pencil support would be interesting. I def have one laying around that could use some use aside from drawing on my iPad

I have 7 headsets so far. I'm covered for games, my meta 3 is excellent. But i REALLY want eye controls. Navigating with my eyes seems like an awesome experience. The Meta 3 has hsnd tracking, yet MOST apps force you to use controllers and leave out hand functions completely, which sucks! Once I saw the AVP actually uses the hand and eye control options, I got really excited. But... I'm on the fence because of price. I want a productive headset with clarity to actually read better and more options for multiple flat apps running at once. Also: meta has no movie options. No actual 3d vr movie experiences. I joined an avp group and hearing them watch and buy major movies and watching them in true 3d sounds very exciting. I saw Immersed has an avp app: I'm curious if that will let me connect my avp to my pc.

For fraction of AVP price you can buy multiple good 4K monitors and run as many flat app as you want. Just wait few years for quest 4 or next quest pro, I’m sure that meta will reintroduce eye tracking with major ui overhaul, and micro oleds should become more available. AVP is just ultra expensive tech demo at this point

I feel like they'll end up bringing that feature back on the Pro version of the quest. The price is definitely on the expensive side and that's from a user who isn't heavy into gaming. I found value in this device through immersive mode for video editing and mainly screenwriting. I have a hard time focusing on my script so it helps big time. It has a lot of things coming in the future once the other apps are out. I'm apart of a FB group for both devices to really stay on top of what's happening. I think you'd def enjoy it. I haven't experienced the 3d movie, but im this close to trying it. Im sure the immserved app probably will. I'll have to test it on my other laptop

lol I wouldn't call it an ultra expensive tech demo but hell apple is known for pricey stuff. you're right though, there is a lot you can do with $3500 so I think for everyone on the fence - this isn't for them. (if price is the concern) it's just a lot of other options out there. I personally use a 4k curved monitor for daily work but I agree, the quest 3 pro will probably be pretty bad ass.

@11.Pierre i agree. I have a 4k curved monitor as well, but i still like using my apps in vr, especially just while in my home or around the house. I mean, I can't just carry my monitor around, lol For me personally, I'm not treating these as competitors, but rather as separate use devices, both excelling in their own ways. I found your channel last night, and it's very refreshing finding someone who seems fair and can appreciate both for what they offer.

No glasses. I tried a demo again at the Apple Store today and I saw it on that one too. I’m at a cross roads if I should just return it. I see it most vividly in a dark immersive environment (i.e cinema mode, Disney plus theatre). It’s like I can see the reflection of whatever I’m watching. If I’m using pass through or in a lighter immersive environment it’s less noticeable. I’m unsure if this is a normal experience for VR headsets or not.

The problem is it's the same price or MORE expensive than an 83 inch LG C3. There ain't a universe that exists where this mid VR headset is a better purchase than the LG C3 at 83 gigantic inches. Maybe if you already have an LG C3, okay... might as well consider it maybe... but functionality wise... the only thing the AVP excels at is watching stuff and only for a couple hours because it gets uncomfortable after that. AVP was supposed to be transformative, but it fell short. Especially when it comes to gaming. Dang thing can't even be used to play FRUIT NINJA well. I swear, if your $3.5-4k VR headset can't absolutely nail a FRUIT NINJA gaming experience... what in the hell is you doing Apple? Now there is ONE ideal use case for this product. And unfortunately this segment of consumers ins incredibly niche. It's in-flight entertainment. Yeah not many people fly that often to justify the price.

  • @11.Pierre

Very well said! It’s hard to pass up a big nice premium tv and that’s easily a better value for most of the world. It’s very niche but still in the early stages, I enjoy working on my screenplays in immersive mode. (Just helps me have tunnel vision) But even then that’s just something for me, inflight seems like it would be cool but planes usually suck lol. It’s a fun and neat device, it should only get better but if price is the main key I think 99% of people will love the quest 3 tbh.

I can tell that you favor the AVP, and that's not a slight against you. What you should know is that the AVP is an amalgamation of the Meta Quest and the Microsoft HoloLens; with better tech years later, and of course prettier with an apple logo. Apple, has never invented anything. Nice comparison of the what may be of a product to what a product is now. Lol one could say Elon Musk is the manifestation of Apple in human form, all I'm saying is re-watch your video and realize you're comparing the Quest 3 to the AVP and it's potential as though the Quest 3 is static, thank you if you've read this far.

@@11.Pierre I dearly hope so, remember, the only reason the App Store exists today is because users like you and I (I once owned an iPhone) demanded Apple give the community the ability to create system apps. No one wanted to code webapps when Apple was about to popularize system apps downloadable from an "app store". It will do fine overtime I agree will you.
