Oh my goodness what a treat..,Marie, Maria and Kat are back...happiness.

Being 8 hours behind the UK and wanting to watch the coronation live (broadcasting started at 1am Sat local time) I opted to pull an all nighter and baked a pie to stay awake 😂 Seeing the balcony scene on your phone in the background made me think about how many people worldwide were connected by this historic event. ❤️🇨🇦

@Larissa P my workplace is a 300 year old tavern on the east coast of the USA. I had Coronation Fever so badly that, even though I started out solo, by the time Coronation Day came I had spread the fever to all the staff and a ton of our guests lol. We ended up serving Coronation Chicken and "The Crown Jewel" cocktail. We all wore crowns. We sold out of the chicken twice. Today a guest who had been here yesterday said he could not understand what on earth the (expletive) fuss was about. Ridiculous. What crazy people celebrate that? I said quietly "me" and he (liking me) backpedalled in a hurry. Then I took him off guard by explaining that the main reason I liked it was, if ANY country happens to be in the position to unite people world round in celebration, and a lot(not all) of fighting and disagreements end for one day for people to celebrate, then I don't care a hoot what country it is, I'm just celebrating the unity of people world round for that moment. He was much struck by my main reason for celebrating, and said it was actually a beautiful way of looking at it. Anyway, when I looked at all the people eating the Coronation Chicken yesterday and thought of all the people world round eating it, the unity of humankind in that moment, that we were joining in on, was such an inspirational moment. You're comment on how we were all watching the celebration at the same time no matter what time zone we were in(I got up at 4am to watch and had a 10 hour work day looking at me afterwards), plus everyone eating all the same dishes, well, those were memorable memories of togetherness that will last a lifetime.

I was moved by the service as well 🥹. The music was perfect. My favorite was the ancient chanting, when the King was brought the items to touch. I felt like I had gone back in time at that moment. It actually made me weep a little because of my deep passion for history.

@@beciaaus2811 The styles I've had in the past were felt lined on one side, quite heavy and folded for storage. One set was inherited with the antique furniture and another set was custom made - years ago. Sorry, I don't have a referral for you.

I am so happy that you celebrated the coronation Stephanie. As an 🇦🇺 & a republican, I can still appreciate the history and importance of the royal family to the Brits. I was in the UK when the Queen died and the emotional energy was palpable. I have only just left England and, whilst missing the coronation, the energy surrounding this was immense.

My kids (who are excellent chefs) would agree that The Coronation Chicken is not good. It was the best that could be done in the awful post war rationing period, but no one needs to eat that sort of thing now. The historical recipes and history are interesting, thank you for that information ! The whole video cheered me up today, the 8th of May. It was so good to hear everyone so happy and cheerful. We were meant to be in France at our little home in France Profonde, but sadly my husband had some health problems and we could not go. It was refreshing to see you all so happy. (i think the copper kitchen tools are wonderful ! I would have bought them too. Thanks for a few moments of light relief!
