The orange bit on the nock is so that the archer can find it, usually the entire nock is a bright color instead of just a small bit though. So the real problem is how little of the orange there is on the arrows

@@dante_0962 the feathers are too dark. As an actual archer myself I can tell you practically speaking the the nock and the feathers should both be brighter

To answer the question at 18:30, that part of the arrow is the knock, and its used to hold the arrow in place. People color them orange in real life so they can see the arrow better as its flying. Its orange in the game for no reason.

I think it would be cooler if the nock was a bright purple or pink, so it would match better with Hawkeye in general and still kinda serve its purpose of standing out in real life.

This series has had my interest for longer than the actual game did. This thing really is the gift that keeps giving

I'm disappointed that Kate Bishop didn't get her "Hawk Kate" look from that part in West Coast Avengers where she gets turned into a giant hawk kaiju. There are other "furry" skins, so her not getting hawk kaiju Kate is a bit disappointing. Edit: They even put Werehawk in! They skipped Kate's bird form yet put in Clint's!

They could do what injustice did with green arrow and have Hawkeye use his bow as a melee weapon sometimes that way it would stand out much less that the bow guy has a sword that way they could've made the sword an exclusive for specific skins so that it would make more sense

I think the reason the gloves in Ronin's suit are yellow is because they are trying to resemble the Japanese Archery glove, which is yellow. There are black and gray gloves, but those are used for training purposes. The reason for the yellow color is that the gloves are made of thick leather to protect the user's hand from the arrow. However, the glove only has three fingers, leaving the palm area exposed. But, just as the video mentioned, there's no need to prioritize realism over aesthetics. Personally, I like the Ronin outfit, but I still have some issues with it (and I think the MCU suit is better, tbh).

The reason of why Kate Bishop is in this game, i think is because these guys thought they was gonna add more characters, they thought the game was gonna have more success, and characters, and dlc seasons

To be honest, I feel the same way. I can't stand kate. Especially after that garbage, that was the Hawkeye tv show.

As someone who really likes both the more classic and Matt Fraction Hawkeye (and Kate) I respectfully disagree But I also accept you have your opinion and I'm ok with that ^^

26:02 They do make a nod to it in the game. Old Hawkeye has a voice line where he says “I’m not quite blind yet” implying that his vision is failing him a bit but not all the way. I think it was a cute reference. I’ll be honest I actually really liked Hawkeye in this game. I think his DLC was my favorite and I really got into the Future Imperfect story. I found him really fun to play and make OP as well. I think that kind of helped some of his outfits grow on me.

I haven’t read much of Kate, but I did really love her from reading the Fraction run (I totally get that that run annoys you, I’m not a big Avengers fan so I wasn’t particularly attached to the Hawkeyes before reading it but I sympathize) but yeah her costumes are so underwhelming. Her costumes look their best in David Aja’s beautiful art style, but man they just do not translate well at all to an artstyle this dead set on trying to look “realistic.” I feel like since that run no one has really been able to define a particular, interesting costume style to Kate, and they don’t really show much characterization for her other than ‘she’s practical.’ Honestly the only memorable one they gave her in the game is the circus look because at least that one has a slightly more interesting silhouette. I’d love for her to get more costumes influenced by interesting streetwear styles instead of just looking like she got her superhero costume at old navy.

I believe the reason they were so hesitant to change things like Captain America's sheild, Clint's arrows, etc, is because they are not always part of the characters model, they emit from them aswell. Cap throws his sheild, clint shoots the arrows, my guess is changing the model for emitted assets as well was more of a challenge. That being said, its incredibly stupid

When I saw the vampire bite mark subconsciously I saw it was like “wait how would you do that” then you immediately pointed it out lol. Yeah that’s an issue . Developers just clearly made a few bite marks and just added it to the model with little care

It’s pretty reasonable to assume Marvel gave the developers a list of characters that would be showing up in later MCU project. Like, Rocket Raccoon is in Marvel vs Capcom 3. While Capcom does have a history of selecting some oddballs that even Marvel fans didn’t really know at the time, Marvel was gearing up for the already known of (although I don’t think officially announced) Guardians of the Galaxy movie by having the characters show up in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and MvC3. I do think it’s kind of funny someone made an Avengers game (with the actual Avengers name, as opposed to the Marvel Ultimate Alliance which are also Avengers games) with 12 playable characters and it’s not basically just the core ‘60s team. No Ant-Man. No Wasp. No Black Knight. (which would’ve been an excuse to get a Lightsaber in there) No Scarlet Witch. No Quicksilver. No Vision. Ant-Man is the funniest one since they gave the impression he’d be playable before the game came out, and already have a model made for him. Scarlet Witch is probably the weirdest one since she’d been a fairly large character in the MCU for 7 year.

I can't stop seeing 2018 Tomb Raider Lara Croft in like, half of the Kate skins tbh. Edit: Glad you mentioned that the devs made the reboot. did not know that.

This game genuinely made me hate contemporary realism in my superhero stuff. I miss classic superhero aesthetic, and I miss the Crystal Dynamics that made the Gex series. Also, thank you for acknowledging Rick's importance. He gets the shaft way too often.

Ultimates 3 Hawkeye is a super cool suit. I feel like for all the comic based suits for every character I think people would have appreciated a 1:1 copy as well as Crystal Dynamics take on the design. To please both fans. Another great vod

Kate bishop is fucking awesome in the Matt fraction run. I’ve also heard good things about her as a character during her time as the leader of the west coast avengers but I haven’t read that run. She’s also pretty good in the Hawkeye show imo

Honestly I think the game’s version of the Civil War suit because the colors are slightly more saturated. In the movie it basically just looks all black.

Pretty sure that minifig you’re talking about is a mashup of the 2012 Avengers film suit and the Ultimates 2 suit haircut and glasses, but yeah, that minifig is still cooler looking than this game’s monstrosity.

I actually really like the Burgundy color. I think it invokes the classic pink without being tacky.

I never realized Hawkeye carried a gun in the movies. It’s especially funny considering the second movie he carried a gun in is civil war where he has to fight his friends lol.

To me, their take on the Ultimates 2 costume just makes Hawkeye look like a less muscular Riddick cosplayer.

Another thing about the midriff in Kate's Young Avengers suit is that the negative space is supposed to look like an arrow, because themeing. Whereas in the game it's just a midriff.

You're one of the only people I know who has such a fondness for the Ultimates, and I love that. Ultimates 1 and 2 are flawed but I love them dearly. And complete agree on Clint's Ultimates 3 look.

I’m just saying, imagine if there was a recolor of the retro suit with a yellow and blue color scheme. If they had most of the mask, be yellow, but then the little curves around his eyes be blue, it could be a pretty sneaky way to reference a wolverine without breaking any potential copyright issues.

18:11 I'm not an expert, but I have a bow and arrow that i use sometimes, just so that i would go outside and touch grass! (Kidding LoL) But no fr, some arrows have a bright color at the end because it makes it easier for the naked eye to find those arrows. But those have a dark color, so that's not it. Or it's just copper used for reinforcement. Or Maybe it's just Crystal Dynamics being Crystal Dynamics by adding more detail where it's not necessary.

EMH Hawkeye is the best version of the character and the reason I love him. He’s always been sorta nebulous and Marvel has never really known what to do with him but that show figured out what about him worked and dialed it up to 11. Did the same thing for most of the characters actually.

Kate could have been so cool if she had her ponytail. Imagine it flowing behind her as you do cool combos! Could have made her look a lot more dynamic

The orange at the end of Hawkeyes arrows on the knocks is I’m guessing a result of the devs doing some minimal research into archery. Usually you use bright knocks to differentiate your arrows from others and its surrounding. However, in game the orange isn’t bright enough and the fletchings (feathers) are also plenty bright to not require bright knocks. I’d also like to add that those arrows are awfully designed and wouldn’t function as arrows at all.

I never understood Kate's inclusion in this game In these types of games ("Play as the Avengers!" "Play as the Justice League!") people usually want the cast to be as varied as possible, so if you put Superman, you should't put Supergirl or Superboy, especially in this case, where roster size is limited This is why people clown on games like Dragon Ball FighterZ, where you can make two teams of Goku's with no repeats. Even though they all have unique gameplay, it's still very silly

5:25 I think the suit is meant to be a reference to the comics where Kate's mother is a vampire. Maybe this is sort of a what if style suit? Like, what if Kate was turned into a vampire? I mean it carries the vampire color scheme of black and red, but with touches of purple.

I would count a shirt and pants as character design.... Depending on the context. Tsukihime/Melty Blood has a character in literally just a white shirt and jeans. But the point was to make her look mundane despite being one of the strongest characters in the series. So there was thougth put into how boring the design was.

Honestly fractions run is my favorite version of Hawkeye and Ultimate is my least favorite. Specifically Clint. I prefer a happy go lucky super spy instead of an asshole who thinks he’s better then everyone, we already have that in modern Green Arrow.

Fair enough. But the modern Hawkeye is also very often potrayed as goofy idiot, who shouldn’t have gotten this far in life. Personally, I prefer the Ultimate Hawkeye, as well as his MCU counterpart. (Before the Black Widow movie and the Hawkeye show ruined that of course.)
