A Brief History of Lungbarrow

Комедия

What's up with that one Doctor Who book that keeps going for $700 on eBay? What am I doing with all that construction paper and glue? And most importantly: is there a Doctor in the House?!

One thing I love about Lungbarrow is that they actually spent 60 books setting it up. Like there are multiple references and clues in those books (too bad that when those books miss they are some of the worst Doctor Who stories ever, yeah even worse than Chibnall) that made Lungbarrow feel actually earned and well thought out? While I am personally against the Doctor having an origin (although the Other isn't really the Doctor and we still don't know anything about the Doctor pre-Unearthly Child and thank god for that) this is, in hindsight, as good an origin as the Doctor can and probably will ever get. At least it led to a bunch of people going from "Wow Lungbarrow sucks" to "Well at least it ain't the Timeless Child"

I recently started reading Lungbarrow on internet archive! I got curious about reading it after Diamanda Hagan talked about it in some of her videos on Doctor Who. The only other Doctor Who book I’ve read in full so far has been Scratchman by Tom Baker, but Lungbarrow has been really interesting to read so far! Maybe I’ll check out that book where the Doctor gets high and fights the color blue.

I have a question regarding the Other...Seven seems to be aware of his past as a founder of Time Lord Society as in Part of Remembrance, when he explains the Hand of Omega and accidentally says "And didn't WE have trouble with the prototype" and then corrects himself when Ace notices. Also the Hand of Omega is on Earth, because the first doctor and Susan brought it there. So has the Doctor always remembered being the Other?

Open to interpretation, but my read on the situation has always been that Seven doesn't necessarily know that he's the Other/Timeless Child/other plot-relevant historical character, but he DOES enjoy being mysterious and implying he knows things that other people don't, and occasionally that mysterious cryptic talk occasionally seeps into him saying something unintentionally true.

I wanna make a witty comment about how good this is but anything I type would fail to do it justice. So Uh Who wants a see a sequel where the Doctor's various semi-canonical mothers fight to the death over who gets to knit the Lungbarrow sweater? Leela vs Tecteun should be a selling point by itself.

Ah shit I forgot to comment on this at first. Everything I've said about how much I love this and you, you've already heard, but I'll say it again - I am so incredibly proud of you for finishing this amazing project, and I cannot wait to see it in person. Where I will absolutely not harm it in any way (least of all because the ferret thing would require smuggling it to America and I think you'd notice if I started yarnifying your book). I would never, because the amount of work you put into this is genuinely staggering and I am in awe

The company Virgin also had a cameo in the Transformers comic story Salvage, dredging up robot corpses from the Thames in the name of environmental cleanup. Make of this what you will, but only a matter of issues prior side character Death's Head jumped through a time portal and crashed into the seventh Doctor's TARDIS.
