    Aramaic, Hebrew and Arabic are all Semitic languages - which means they all have a great deal in common, such as shared vocabulary, shared letters and pronunciation, trilateral roots, very similar grammar, a similar writing system, and lots more. If you learn one Semitic language, you will find it easy to learn another. When I learned Hebrew in Israel at Ulpan Akiva, the Arabs who were learning Hebrew learned it MUCH faster than anyone else. It was amazing!

But seeing Aramaic scriptures I can truly believe in myself that I am not the only thing that happened with you GOD truly bless you with good work in your powerful intercession and the identity of your Divine day of birth. I was dating a woman from N. Iraq when Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" was released. She and her mother went to see it (a few times) and she reported that both she and her mother were able to understand the spoken Aramaic. There are regional differences (even town to town in Iraq) but with some exposure the dialects are usually mutually intelligible.

    The Sogdian, Uyghar and Mongolian languages are TOTALLY different from Aramaic. Only their writing systems are inspired by Aramaic, and those writing systems are hugely removed from the Aramaic alphabet. Hebrew and Aramaic share the same alphabet. They merely have differing fonts.

  • @KosherCrooner

    @KosherCrooner

    Жыл бұрын

    Dear Bernard, I've only just seen this question, and I understand that the original, correct name of Messiah would have been, and is "YESHUA". Why? Because it means "HE SAVES".[as the LORD GOD said through the Angel Gabriel to his mother, Miriam - [Mary]. If it was "YAH Shua", or any version including "Yah" it would mean "GOD saves". That is NOT the same meaning of Yeshua. Although Salvation does come from God, according to Christianity it is JESUS / Yeshua who saves, and His name is given because of His saving work.

    If Aramaic and Hebrew remained unchanged because it was the language of the Holy Scriptures.... then Koine Greek also should have remained unchanged. But today modern Greek speakers can understand but struggle with Koine Greek. (to study one is not to study the other). I am a christian, so not being skeptical but feel there is a logical fallacy going on here, unless I am missing something?

    There is evidence that shows the gospels were originally written in Aramaic and later translated into Greek. Not necessarily the whole New Testament, just the gospels. I’m still looking into it and find it very interesting. Andrew Gabriel Roth has some research into it. Also, this video is not saying any language in the Bible has remained unchanged. He is stated that Aramaic has remained unchanged since the days of Jesus and therefore these translations may be of interest since koine Greek has morphed into modern greek just like the English language has morphed over time. So translators of Aramaic will have the best representation of a translation of an old document in their own language. Now the issue would be is the Peshitta text superior to the greek texts if there is a discrepancy. 🤔

    You should have explained HOW Aramaic replaced Akkadian in Mesopotamia. Since the Babylonian exile, Aramaic has become inseperable from Hebrew, including Israeli Hebrew. Islam did not "spread." Islam CONQUERED Christians by military force and bullied them into converting to Islam. Once they were Muslim, they gradually expanded Arabic from prayer to conversation. Arabic displaced Aramaic during the Middle Ages, but Aramaic influence can still be seen in modern, spoken Arabic. Modern Aramaic is unintellegible to one who knows only ancient Aramaic.

    @@BlueOcean696 It would seem that, Aramean tribesmen infiltrated the Assyrian homeland and and intermarried with Akkadian speaking farmers, and for a time, the people were speaking both languages together. But Aramaic speakers seemed more manly, and their speach became more popular among the younger generation. Also, Aramaic can be written 500 times more easily than Akkadian, so Arameans kept their language pretty pure from Akkadian influence. The funny thing is, spoken Aramaic is a lot harder to learn than Akkadian. That's why I wonder just how people put themselves out learn Aramaic? Maybe Aramean men murdered masses of Akkadian speaking men, and took the dead men's farms, wives and children. So those children learned Aramaic from their step fathers and step siblings, and when they went into town, they spoke Aramaic, and everyone picked up on it. That is a nasty guess, but I can easily imagine it in the wild Middle East.
