    At first: its cool that you still talk about the Kungsleden cause its a super-duper wonderful video! I follow your videos now for a whole time. Most impression for me was your hike of the west highland way. I always looking for an adventure, just grab a backpack and live from what you have in your bag. I also love the highlands, but i have only see them on pictures or videos. Until April last year! I felt like I need a break of the usual days and so i decided to walk the WHW. I wanted to hike it alone like you did, but then a friend of mine mentioned he would join me and so we hiked together. Positive thing! Cause it was my first long distance hike and we helpede each other when we were in a bad mood (you know, slippy and stony trails and so on :D) To resume: it was such an experience, i dont have words for it! Next goal will be the Kungsleden in September ! Spending time with watching your kungsleden video and hoping that corona will pass. So, take care of you on your hikes and stay calm. 😁✌️

    Hey Erik! So nice that you want to hike the Kungsleden. You can recharge at every mountain station and every ‘village’ you cross on the way. That means roughly: Ammarnäs, Jäkvikk, Kvikkjokk, Saltoluokta (and of course Hemavan and Abisko). Have fun!! Glad you like my videos :).

    Very nice vidéo! Already hiked the Abisko-Nikkaluokta section last September, but now planning to do all of the Kungsleden to get ready for the PCT (that I am so looking forward to hike). Do you know if there is a book about the Kungsleden? Showing maps and advice about it ? I found myself stuck a lot of my time with my tent because I was going through swamps (so couldn't pitch it anywhere), I think having a book and more precise maps could help me avoid that :)

    Ciao Floor, thanks for your suggestions, really useful. I would like to try Kungsleden next August ... What temperatures did you find on the various routes? colder in the north or south? morning? at night? And what is the comfort temperature of your quilt? Thanks in advance. Marco

  • @floordenil

    @floordenil

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hey Marco! Generally speaking, the temperatures in the South are warmer than in the North. On top of that, temperatures in higher elevations are lower than in lower elevations. For example: Kvikkjokk is the lowest point of the Kungsleden, so the hottest (with most mosquitos!) and Tjäktja Pass is the coldest (especially because it's located in the Northern part of the Kungsleden). From Singi on I had a couple of freezing nights. The coldest one I encountered was at the end of my hike at the end of August just after Singi; it was -8°C that night. Other nights are mostly between 0°C and 5°C (at the end of August).

It really works! Next morning at the ferry pont i was so impressed by the surrounding mountains and lake, tears came and i couldn’t hold them. Hope to return there one day.

    gabriel kas to be able to see the northern lights it has to get pretty dark outside, and you won’t get that if you’re hiking in June-July (because midnight sun). You’re way more likely to spot the northern lights during winter, but might get lucky enough to experience it during the shoulder seasons.
