I know you’re slowly phasing out backpacking in favor of climbing, but I’d you ever want to do a backpacking trip, I’m always looking for friendly people! I also go up at least one or two big mountains every year: if you ever want to “climb” St Helen’s, Adams, or Hood, let me know.

Climbing footage is the reason I got into this channel! Me and my wife are around the same level and getting into trad so it's cool to see you guys do it!
I can only speak for myself when I say I love seeing the rock climbing videos. Probably because my husband and I have been climbing for about a year now and want to start climbing outside soon.

That's awesome! Climbing outside is a totally different experience. It's thought provoking and it's such a more intimate way to be in nature. I can't wait for you two to get out there together because it is seriously so much fun!🧗♀️ -V
I don’t know if you wanna this comment but I super love your climbing and editing, so nature.

Your climbing videos (and all videos) are the best and bring me so much joy! Never get tired of seeing a new climbing post!
As a fellow creative i totally understand how you feel. But as a viewer, i totally love watching your videos, climbing videos and all. It’s soooo peaceful and calm and that’s what i love about your videos now. It’s slow and relaxing and just appreciating the beauty of nature and outdoor activities and routines and hobbies
Love your videos so much, Cody and Victoria! Watching it before going to sleep, because it's super peaceful and satisfying! Also inspires me when creating content. And yes, the climbing footage is great. Doesn't matter what adventure you guys are filming. It's nice anyway!
Perfect timing to make some breakfast for the long day. Looking forward to the video.
Idk about anyone else, but I LOVE the climbing videos! As a very beginner climber, it’s so cool to see the things I could hopefully do some day!🫶🏻

I think my algorithm sent me your way because of the Joshua Tree climbing. Loved to see it. Such a magical place out there. But yes, filming climbing can be a pain sometimes! (Thanks for putting in the extra effort).

+1 Don't stress about needing to be creative with the climbing footage. It's just rad to see it and live vicariously through you both. Inspirational and motivational!
Definitely keep the climbing edits coming! Love seeing you guys climbing. Love the style of your edits as well, inspiring us to edit things a bit more patiently and use more VO rather than speaking to camera ❤

My wife and I took our first Van trip. I’m with you Cody. My anxiety and stress spiked with all the uncertainty of where to go and where to sleep. I couldn’t sleep when we first started because of it. So don’t feel alone!
One of the most beautiful places in SoCal. I remember my first time visit, it was few years ago, it was one of the hot winters, for 6 days I walked from Los Angeles to Joshua Tree, camped out on the side of the roads, met bunch of interesting people, got a private tour at the windmill site, spend new years with a totally random family, at their house, they showed me different spots at the desert where they search for old artifacts etc. There is so much history and beauty at the park itself, awesome place to do astrophotography and shrooms 😆 I'm happy you guys got to spend some time there as well!

I really appreciate and admire the creative work you guys share. It’s some of the best storytelling in both spoken and visual content in this subject areas I have discovered thus far. Motivational to get out and explore/expand one’s skills/appreciate the world around us. Fantastic Vibe! Yet at the same time, I understand it comes at a cost. Not only in $ but in the opportunity/obligation your committing to supply a steady stream of content to make the whole concept work. Not even to mention the idea of having “going free of the consequences in sponsorship” VS having products you either overtly or softly place in your content. Again, I appreciate what you’re doing / choosing
@codyandvictoria

Much appreciated and glad you’re noticing. It is a struggle to say the least. Constantly trying to feed some overlord “algorithm” and maintain a healthy mental state at the same time. Additionally talking to the camera has always been a bit awkward for us but the rewards are worth it. Really we just want to document the things that we find enjoyable, live a quality life, and hopefully encourage other people to do the same. All of that said, we do enjoy it and love this life we’re able to live.
I have the opposite problem when camping; I wake up at first light. In order to try and sleep in a little, one needs a lot of firewood then stay up as late as you can staring at the fire & talking.
@codyandvictoria
Жыл бұрын
That's a good problem to have in my opinion lol if we were sleeping in a tent every night, I would be waking up with the sun too! -V
my opinion, feel free to disregard bc i love any video u guys make, but ur climbing content is the best out there. captures exactly the vibe with no dramatics or extra fluff while still being fun and entertaining to watch. totally get if y’all are sick of filming it though! excited for the snow season for u guys

Killer video you guys 🤘 Personally I love your climbing footage, but am also a huge fan of every other type of outdoor sport you guys incorporate into your videos, especially mountain biking, snowboarding, and hiking. But even aside from that, I really feel like you bring so much value to your channel with even the simple/little things like setting up your camp, playing with Hazel, having breakfast, etc. It makes your videos so relatable and down to earth. I lived in Joshua Tree for 20 yrs until it got too busy with people coming to the National Park . I was a Park Ranger there and in 20 yrs I watched the park go from a million to 2 million to 3 million and then the Air B and B took over and housing became an issue . Funny how nice so nice can be wreaked by too much love . But you're seeing this in all the National Parks . Anyways it's nice to see Joshua Tree agin in the video , been following you guys since it was just Cody , love the videos I'm 58 and it reminds me of all my travels before I settled down .
To me, any videos you guys posted is always always an adventure and I look forward to it. Even if its as simple as Victoria’s van life cooking 😊 Keep on rockin 🤘🏽

Ha it’s coming back soon enough. After all, this “year” is almost over.
One part of this vídeo got my attention in particular, because I have a similar issue. When Cody talks about being burned out about filming rock climbing... I'm a professional filmmaker, and archery is my hobby. I rarely do a video about archery, because I just want to enjoy that. I don't want to think in anything but hitting those targets with my arrows. I guess you guys enjoy climbing a lot, and it's ok to let the cameras off for a while. Specially when this is activity demand full focus. If we see you guys heading to the mountain and later we see you at the top... we got it - and you can fully enjoy the climbing experience. But (there was a "but" coming, you knew it) if you want to try something different, I suggest using a drone using the "hero montage" while one of you is climbing. I guess it's a way of letting the machine doing it job while you are enjoying climbing with safety. And hey, 30 usd coffee package. I'll send you a great Brazilian coffee if you want to try something as good as African, waaayyy cheaper 😁
Your van is similar to an italian FIAT DUCATO🇮🇹. Cool😊

Climbing and filming with only two people is difficult. Luckily I got my kids to add enjoyment to filming climbing.
