We’re constantly in that battle of public vs private and more money towards public is exactly what many of the upper class actively work against through such arguments as it being a “behavioral” problem - as if someone in an underfunded position wouldn’t experience what would be labeled as problem behaviors. This obviously isn’t a fully socialist society, so even within our public sector money is king.

As i grew up, the american public education system got worse and worse and due to social media/internet. For any parents, if you want to raise your kids right, restrict their time on the internet, games, find a good school to send your kid public or private, and spend time with your kids. We pay taxes for public schools. Why cant we chose what school we want our money going to. My kids go to a private catholic school and that is our biggest expense, but our kids are worth it. Why should i pay taxes for public schools if im not using those public resources. Stupid politicians that's why.

My family's been in Massachusetts from 1620, and 1630's. In time , the state "legislature" so to say, would issue colony then state laws about what towns were obligated to publicly provide re education/school. Each town to pay for its own system. As a result, towns tried hard to get good teachers and facilities. TO ATTRACT settlers, and workmen and families, and business and businesses. That sense of foundational strength and gravitational pull. It did well.

Uprooting your kids isn't good either. Kids who are uprooted once are more likely to attempt suicide. Kids who are uprooted multiple times are more likely to commit suicide. Psychiatrists says Kids who are uprooted and lose their sense of community don't give a darn about anything or anybody, and it makes them incapable of forming relationships with other people, especially older people. Psychiatrists also say those people are extremely difficult or impossible to "fix."

honestly… my boyfriend and his siblings been to private schools. Their parents weren’t rich and they put all their money into their kids eductions. I went to good old public school, it was awful. When he talks about his time, it sounds like a different universe. They all are highly educated today with very well paying jobs. I have done okay for myself given where i came from, but the difference it makes is just so extreme. I want to be able to provide the same for my children too.

Well, rich kids already have a better chance at winning in life. Unfortunately, this argument that going to a better school with high value peers will increase your chance at life is very faulty. I have seen middle class people struggle really hard to gather tuition money to send their kids to high end private schools. It didn’t yield much success. In fact, I have seen those kids underperforming compared to those that went to government schools. I am not talking about the US, but my own country but I think the rules still apply.

That depends a lot on the area you live, if you live in an area where there is only religious private schools * no. Secular science and history, then it's probably not going to be better. If you live in an area where the public schools are better at testing scores, then your private schools then that's a stupid argument. He's not saying that private schools are better. He's saying that because he went to Maine the public schools were not very good so he went to a private school because they were better. You can't even actually listen to what he actually said and only highlight that only private schools are better. Oh my goodness, at least listen to what the dude said. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♂️🤦
