    Simply Michael Why not charge a fair hourly or day rate. Your heart surgeon does not get paid more when he or she has more experience. With that logic everything will be more expensive every year. Years of experience does not necessarily make you better at your trade. You should be better but not always.

  • @Jenuin

    For me that rate will depend the job. My experience, do I want the job? , the customer, how hard the job is ... do I need to walk up 8 flights of stairs with drywall or do you have a service elevator and other factors like how long have I known them and are they a referral. If I have known my customer since I started and they are fair. I’ll give them an awesome rate and job. If they are new they get awesome work and a fair rate based upon the factors listed above. Another factor is will they work with my schedule or is this a take the job now deal or I’ll find someone else. As you can see my equation for pricing is complicated. :/ most of the time I do amazing work for a decent or cheap price. I keep my overhead low and I don’t drive a fancy truck.

The engine parts are provided by Bisimoto, the chassi is still a 911 (with the balance of a real Porsche) and the bodywork is not overdone, in fact, is just right for the "rough world" that is the brand's motto. It's not like they are picking some aftermarket parts on ebay and stucking it on to a old civic, don't talk down on the work of a genius...

    Yeah, these are going to be hot sellers in 20 years. With even the final generation of the air cooled 911 turbo being worth as much as they are now, adding a pretty legendary aftermarket tuner kit is only going to make the collector value more out of control.

  • @pchwang

    @pchwang

    6 жыл бұрын

    +Mazokki the difference is that a lot of these cars are naturally going to the dump anyway and those well preserved originals will go up in value. The real effect that the RWB kits are having on the original cars is that they are making the process happen faster. Which, honestly, I can't imagine is a bad thing if you're hanging on to one of these cars as an investment.

  • @Linken200

    @Linken200

    6 жыл бұрын

    If any of you think a car gets more collectable or valuable from putting a over hyped "tuner kit" on it you've never seen a real car auction or really looked at what modified cars sell for compared to original ones. These will most likely be looked back on like we do now at a Koenig Ferrari or Mercedes from the 80's, but those were actually built properly. Still no one cares for them now compared to a original car

  • @pchwang

    @pchwang

    6 жыл бұрын

    +Linken200 I think you're looking at this wrong, but you have a point. How RWB is viewed in the future all depends on what happens to RWB when Nakai-san chooses to retire. If the company persists and just hires someone else to continue the mods, yes, RWB becomes Liberty Walk. But as things stand, I imagine RWB air cooled Porsches will be our generation's Yenko Camaros, not glorified tuner kits anybody can do.

    stancing cars is a culture, what the stance culture should be is people who respect each others work and style. If people don't like someone else's car feel free to dislike it, but at least respect their build style and choices they made on their car, after all it is theirs. The worst thing in the stance community, in fact the car community in general, is the people who discredit others work, style, art and lifestyle. It’s amazing the reputation these cars have. Even in the virtual world, like forza or need for speed, when I see it on the road or even build myself one can tell a lot of time has gone into the individual design and tunes for these Porsches. Edit: spelling

    this is such an idiotic comment. its the art and craftsmanship you pay for. Your not paying for card mods, youre paying for a product, and like any product, theres markup. You pay $900 for an iphone because of what it does for your life, you dont pay $900 for the raw materials and the 10 minutes of assembly time. you could say the same about the mona lisa which is worth $100 million, "what idiot would pay that?! its like $3 in paint and $5 in canvas!"
