I would send the video to the pool manufacturer with a congratulating letter on the quality of their product, so they could advertise it as bear resistant.

the children cared more about possibly losing their material things than the awsome miracle of nature and seeing real bears in their backyard . when i was a kid i would have thought that seeing the bears was way cooler than not losing one of my toys . their mom should have immediately used that moment as an opportunity to teach her kids that their toys are just material things that can be replaced but seeing the bears up close like that was something that they would rarely see in their life .

А вдруг маме-медведице понравится и она начнёт приводить своих малышей ещё? И тогда дети хозяйки в любой момент подвергнутся опасности! Мне кажется, что очень не хочется прогонять медведей, но ц них обязательно надо оставить неприятные воспоминания, чтобы они больше не пришли внезапно

I'm so glad that momma human pulled rank to ensure that momma bear and her cubs got to enjoy a super fun pool party!

Whoever the lady is that's talking behind the camera is an amazing person..she seen that her stuff was getting ruined and was still more captivated by letting a momma and her babies have a moment together. More people should be like her and understand and respect that we intruded on their land. Thank you for letting a momma make a memory with her babies...and the way you explain it to your own kids is what money can't buy. You're a great person!!!

@@douggief1367 She more than compensated for that by being 99% positive about the uniqueness of the opportunity. I didn't hear the Dad offer to step up and do anything but point out possible negative repurcussuons. Calling animal control at that point was probably a wise idea if the Mama bear was getting too comfortable, as they get very aggressive when they have cubs. She was looking out for everyone. From her deep sigh I bet she does a lot of damage control by softening Dad's negativity.

Suzy It makes me wonder how the mum and dad ever hooked up. If it’s their home and not a vacation spot, they he should EXPECT bears there and take precaution. He should have made the child stay quiet and restrain/ remove the dog. Then weigh up the losses vs pros. Either he make the bests go from the outset or stay quiet. There is no danger. He should tell his family how cute this is but explain that moma bears are vicious if anyone approached the cubs.

Anything that gets punctured can be patched. They can laugh about Goldilocks story. The parents can use this as a lesson about ‘Sharon’. At the same time I listen to that child complain and demonstrate selfishness, claiming that is '' his '' pool. He is not enjoying the unique spectacle, funny and beautiful, to see the bears play. I worry. The human race from an early age shows selfishness and negativity. That's because the materialistic and consumerist life we live today. Children grow detached from nature and love and respect for animals. It is very sad.

Teacup and Roses It is "his" pool, just as his home is "his" house, and when he's unhappy with sharing with a friend he takes back "his" toy. It's part of growing, learning, and normal childhood development. Nothing about kids' reactions to bears in their new pool says anything about the human race as a whole. The kids had a new toy with which to cool off in the summer, and now they don't. It makes sense that they're bummed and confused. If they were a couple years older they could probably see it for what it is. You're expecting adult (or at least higher-level) processing from a 3 and 5 year old. Don't be obtuse.

Momma bears keep cubs with them often for over a year. That was most probably two sets of cubs with her - last year's and this year's.

Bears getting use to and feeling comfortable with spending their time where your small children play and hang out is not beautiful. They should have scared the bears off immediately with loud sounds. Bears eat children.

Catherine S. Todd It’s not everyday you see tons of bear cubs in a pool with their momma, many black bears are going extinct because of hunting and they are the most docile and friendly bears. So incredible? Maybe if you see from a different point of view. Not everyone gets to see this.

Well sir, I totally appreciated the video, but having the ability to use my vision, my hearing and my brain I am able to not only be like the mother and enjoy the sight of the beautiful creatures enjoy the pool but understand how the Dad puts a negative spin on the event. The pool may or may not be damaged but a critical thinker would know that it’s too late to worry about any possible damage to the pool and see the opportunity to help the children make it a memorable and positive experience. Which is exactly what the mother was doing. I am glad the dad stopped and mom continued to point out the joy.

The father was a cry baby worried about a cheap pool you buy at Walmart . Like the mother said we will buy another one ,you herd dad say we won't get one until next year.hes a kind of guy who will see a stray dog dieing and just ignore it.

The mum was smart enough to know that filming this is gold. And it is unlikely that the bears would collapse the pool or puncture it.

Just now saw this and it has got to be one of the cutest and most adorable videos! Thanks Mom for letting this wonderful fur family have a magical day..

UPDATE: ALL 6 bears have been seen in the neighborhood, along with another family of 5. They all made it through the winter and the hunting season. :)

The bears are super duper cute, what a treat. Conversely not scaring them away is inviting trouble.

This was a great opportunity to educate your children about bears, looks like they need it.

Human mom is so into the spirit of the moment. Enchantingly beautiful.

My first thought was that the kids were scared of the bears, and that's why they were whining. Which is perfectly reasonable, but then I heard a kid whine: "They took my floaty!". Oh for fucks sake.

lordSeaworth this thread is about the children whining & then we've gone into why. The Mum is chill & a good role model but the Dad appears to be anxious & whiny. Therefore the children are going to learn these behaviours off their parents but lets not be too harsh on Dad for being whiny because he probably learnt it off his parents or significant role models in his life.

A Olsson That WalMart pool, & plastic toys can’t compare to what I just saw on that video. What a treasure. Ppl are way too materialistic, & the children could learn a lot from seeing this as well. The Dad who didn’t appreciate the bear family, doesn’t seem to realize how very special this was. That in itself is sad.

That dad is the type that tells you you're life's over while the mom winks at you to let you know it's all gonna be fine.

Wow, the kids and dad don't appreciate life at all, Watching bears play and have fun in a pool is a once in a lifetime opportunity! It doesn't matter if they wreck things, they're easily replaceable but watching the bears are not! Take your family out on a camping holiday out in countryside somewhere away from city and electronic life! That's whats best! Seeing wildlife for what it really is!
