when you play the recorder, you need better tounging and fingering to achieve the best sound

All I know about trombone tonguing is what my high school band director (a trombonist) would say. And that is that, unlike most other instruments, you actually have to tongue slurred notes. But it's a soft tongue instead of a hard tongue. One thing I notice just from listening is that I don't hear any difference in the different tonguing you do. If, for instance, you're saying "takataka" or something, I can't hear the difference between the ta and the ka.

When I saw the Arabesque short, I wanted to learn it. I got close but I couldn't figure out how to properly tongue the flurry of 16th notes without making it sound really sloppy. Any tips?

Use a lot of air to push your tounge, it helps a lot, and as always, practice and patience

I can’t play it either and I have triggers that could help me with that but it just makes it harder

I r,emember playing Four Scottish Dances in high school and that had a part that forced us to learn how to triple tongue. I'd be walking from class to class practicing the ta-ta-ka articulation and I'm sure I got some weird looks

As a tubist, I find it particularly hard to have articulations heard. For that section of Arabesque, I literally perform it sans slurs, just because the bass section is so hard to hear distinct notes.
