    I quit resoleing my cowboy boots because the last 3-4 folks I used didn't know what they were doing. Definitely a dying art. When I was younger, the local boot guys could rebuild boots better than new.

    Your going to laugh at this but my basement flooded (long story),I have a great two floor attached apartment. I took my tenants beautiful shoes to our best shoe cobbler in Colorado Dardano's shoes. I pleaded to them to help me restore the guys shoes... I said I've watched these two guys Trenton and Heath on KZread restore absolute messes to their original glory! He laughed and said Oh my God we are all watching the same thing on You Tube! There were 6 people in line 4 people raised their hands and said I watch them too we all laughed!

    I swear, I was repeating "Oh My God" the ENTIRE time watching this. I am so very confused. I know the two of you are EXCELLENT cobblers. Not everyone is, and we shouldn't expect everyone to have your level of skill, its just not realistic. That said, HOW did this cobbler pass this off as his job? Me, as a person who doesn't even own any really nice shoes, would NEVER accept that level of shotty workmanship. He (previous cobbler) actually charged a customer for this? He allowed this product of his labor to leave his establishment? Im dumbfounded. Damn. He actually charged someone for this. Stunned. Absolutely stunned.

  • @maxnoerenberg6370

    @maxnoerenberg6370

    I can also believe it also depends what the customer wanted, how much he was willing to pay or when the job should be finished. A cobbler in a big city has lots of customers and has to spread his time wisely...and when the customer wanted the shoes back real fast or wanted to pay a certain price ...then the cobbler cant do a real thorough job. And then of course there are those cobblers that are just crooks!

    I have a pair of Liverpool’s in the same color that will need a resole soon. Mine have similar creasing on the uppers from walking in the rain. I wish you would have refurbished the uppers so I can see what I should expect from my local cobbler. Keep up the good work. Watching these videos is so satisfying.

    Love it! I took my 6 year old Redwing Iron Ranger boots to a local "shoe hospital" the stitching looks okay not great to my standards and the sole came off from the boot from only light wear in about 4 weeks. I mentioned the "frayed" look of the front top stitching and they said without replacing the welt it is what it is.

    Craftsmanship! when I was a kid there was a shoemaker shop next to a fixit shop. (toasters radios tv's etc) in every neighbourhood. Now I know of only one cobbler and no fixit shops. thanks for posting and I just wish I still had some nice boots to fix. I'd send them to you in a flash. good honest work.

    I once had a pair of size 11.5 black toe cap Bostonians. I had them re-soled. When I got them back they were size 10 and I couldn't fit my feet into them. The welts looked similar to the boots at the start of the video with the thread all over the place. I don't understand why they are still in business. I wish they had as much respect for their craft and their customers as these two gentlemen have for theirs. Thanks for once again showing us how it should be done!

    Wow, they look great - night v. day and the orange stitches really make these stand out. The craftsmanship, quality, and customer care that go into all of the work you do is the best around. The work here is better than you can get straight from AE - keep up the great work!

    Y'all always do such high quality work. I lived in Atlanta all my life but moved to South Carolina a few years ago and haven't been able to find a good cobbler here. So I was taking my shoes to Bennies in Atlanta when I needed work done. I will be mailing my next pair to Nashville.
