My father, who trained as a carpenter in Germany, always told me growing up " If you don't care about the quality of your workmanship, DON'T do the job". Mark you work with excellence. Well done, great job!!!👍👍👍
So nice of you to help the guy out with his boots. It’s a shame that another cobbler would let those boots out of their shop looking like they did. Great work fixing them!

I quit resoleing my cowboy boots because the last 3-4 folks I used didn't know what they were doing. Definitely a dying art. When I was younger, the local boot guys could rebuild boots better than new.

Your going to laugh at this but my basement flooded (long story),I have a great two floor attached apartment. I took my tenants beautiful shoes to our best shoe cobbler in Colorado Dardano's shoes. I pleaded to them to help me restore the guys shoes... I said I've watched these two guys Trenton and Heath on KZread restore absolute messes to their original glory! He laughed and said Oh my God we are all watching the same thing on You Tube! There were 6 people in line 4 people raised their hands and said I watch them too we all laughed!

I wonder if that makes any noticeable difference than a sheet of cork cut to shape? It certainly seems easier to apply for them as cobblers though.
This is exactly why I sent my shoes to you earlier this year. It’s clear that you guys care a lot about the work you put out and reputation is important to you. As a customer, it feels great to support people who are passionate about their craft. I can honestly say I was blown away by the attentive professionalism of your customer support and the quality of the work done by Heath on my shoes.

I swear, I was repeating "Oh My God" the ENTIRE time watching this. I am so very confused. I know the two of you are EXCELLENT cobblers. Not everyone is, and we shouldn't expect everyone to have your level of skill, its just not realistic. That said, HOW did this cobbler pass this off as his job? Me, as a person who doesn't even own any really nice shoes, would NEVER accept that level of shotty workmanship. He (previous cobbler) actually charged a customer for this? He allowed this product of his labor to leave his establishment? Im dumbfounded. Damn. He actually charged someone for this. Stunned. Absolutely stunned.
@maxnoerenberg6370

I can also believe it also depends what the customer wanted, how much he was willing to pay or when the job should be finished. A cobbler in a big city has lots of customers and has to spread his time wisely...and when the customer wanted the shoes back real fast or wanted to pay a certain price ...then the cobbler cant do a real thorough job. And then of course there are those cobblers that are just crooks!

Thank you very much! We believe that if you’re working on a cheap pair of shoes or expensive pair, your work should be excellent and not shoddy. If a craftsman of ant trade turns out an inferior job, they are telling the world what they’re made of.

I don’t know why I enjoy watching this, I don’t wear dress shoes unless I have to, I guess it’s the craftsmanship and something you don’t see much anymore.
I don’t know anything about shoes nor do I possess the desire to own high quality shoes. I do really enjoy your videos and your craft. It’s entertaining to watch someone be great at something.
Amazing transformation. It’s unbelievable some people take no pride in their work. Awesome job guys, you have certainly gained my future business.
You guys are some humble people. Love the work
Master craftsman. Very talented brothers who take time and know how to revitalize the shoes. Beautiful finish.
I hope he didn't pay for that bad job. He is a butcher not a cobbler. Awesome save 👍🏻
The best cobblers. I would also say best shoe prom on the net. Love the old school corking and great artistic attention to detail. When I lived in Villanova, I used to use a boot maker in Ardmore, little old Italian guy, who has since passed, but you guys would have put even him to shame. I have had many similar bad experiences in poor workmanship here in TN for 25 years, you two have restored my long standing quest for quality workmanship.
Longer videos don't usually grab my attention, but watching this repair was extremely satisfying. I haven't worn my black Thursday Duke pair much because of the pandemic, but I'd also be going crazy after a bad job! Nicely done!

Beautiful and a pleasure to see how these Chelsea boots are fixed so professional. That is old fashioned quality work! So hard to find these days. I have a pair of Santana waterproof booties, that I had for years and loved so much, but they recently came apart. I kept them them in a box, as I just could not throw them out. I have been trying to find a replacement, but They don’t have this boot anymore. I also have been hoping they could be fixed.
Have you ever considered doing a video with advice on how folks needing shoe repair and restoration can locate a competent cobbler?

Finding a competent cobbler is tricky. Generally look at the Goggle ratings or ask a friend. When in doubt, send to an online cobbler. 😉
Thanks again for dealing with this terrible cobbling job with grace and class. Some other cobblers spew so much hate in their efforts to appear humble. You guys are real class acts.

Love watching people with talented hands ,
Love it! I took my 6 year old Redwing Iron Ranger boots to a local "shoe hospital" the stitching looks okay not great to my standards and the sole came off from the boot from only light wear in about 4 weeks. I mentioned the "frayed" look of the front top stitching and they said without replacing the welt it is what it is.
I've learnt a lot about shoes from this channel Keep up the good work 👍

Craftsmanship! when I was a kid there was a shoemaker shop next to a fixit shop. (toasters radios tv's etc) in every neighbourhood. Now I know of only one cobbler and no fixit shops. thanks for posting and I just wish I still had some nice boots to fix. I'd send them to you in a flash. good honest work.
I once had a pair of size 11.5 black toe cap Bostonians. I had them re-soled. When I got them back they were size 10 and I couldn't fit my feet into them. The welts looked similar to the boots at the start of the video with the thread all over the place. I don't understand why they are still in business. I wish they had as much respect for their craft and their customers as these two gentlemen have for theirs. Thanks for once again showing us how it should be done!
Good on you! Love the orange thread. It does pop!
