I remember when this song came out. It was so touching...so beautiful. I just found out I was pregnant. The very last words ... "Merry Christmas little Zachary, Merry Christmas everyone".... just brought tears to my eyes! I knew at that moment if I had a boy, his name had to be be Zachary. And it is. Thank you to John Denver for this beautiful song and my son's beautiful name.

Like you, Nan, I was overcome when I heard the song for the very first time in my late teens (I remember replying to something my elder brother - by a year - had asked me just after the song had played, and my throat being all choked up; horribly embarrassing for a dude that age who's supposed to not be moved by such "sissy sentimental stuff.") Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 Nan!!, and give Zachary a huge Christmas hug for all of us!

For 17 years I have ended Christmas Day listening to this song. I am forever grateful for the little Zachary God gave me. Many people do not know that John Denver wrote this for his adopted infant Zachary.

I remember this beautiful song from John Denver's Christmas album with The Muppets. What a very touching song, that brings back so many comforting memories of childhood. I get goosebumps listening to it. Heaven must certainly be enjoying his beautiful voice.

What a gem this man is. So incredibly special.

Oh ok, this song was a big part of my childhood. Every holiday season my mom and dad played John Denver and Muppets on the record player. My name happens to be Zachary. And I thought the song was about me. 😁

My parents divorced when I was 10. By dad just took off after that and was never in my life again. John Denver and The Muppets TV show was the last thing I remember my Dad and I hanging out and watching together. He was simply gone a month later. This song in particular is bitter sweet to me because of this.
