A 757 Across the Atlantic! UNITED AIRLINES 757-200 Economy Class Review! (6+ HOURS!)

Watch this video to get a sense of what it's like to fly aboard a near 30 YEAR old airliner, over 3000 MILES on an overnight Red Eye flight. We're flying with United Airlines aboard one of their veteran Boeing 757-200 between the capital cities of America and Ireland.
I was looking forward to getting the opportunity to fly onboard the Legendary Boeing 757 (which is becoming an increasingly rare sight in the skies worldwide). Sadly, my flight on the "Flying Pencil" was not the experience I hoped for. With its reduced legroom, limited storage space, and increased noise. The 757 is really not the best aircraft for Long Haul Red Eye Flights.

    757 is more than capable to make that flight and I'd argue has much more space than a 777 economy seat. I think it's a psychological thing flying an aircraft with a single isle transatlantic. Even the A321 neos provide more comfort IMHO.

    I took that exact plane to PBI not too long ago and was sitting right in the isle across from you so it was cool to see exactly where I sat again!

    I didn't see anything that made this flight terrible, to be honest. I may not be United's biggest fan but this didn't look so bad. The B757 "sardine can"...have you been stuck in the economy section of a B777 before? If you can't sleep in a B757 then I doubt you'd do any better in a bigger plane. Sure, the seat could have had more legroom - fair - but that's UA''s decision and they offer pretty much the same seat and room on their larger planes. And the food and IFE are pretty much standard across the airline on similar flights. The only real gripe of a Transatlantic narrowbody, in my opinion, is there can be a line for the lavatories as the ratio of passengers to lav can be worse than bigger planes. However, it can also take as much as 5-10 minutes less to get off the smaller plane when you arrive, by my unofficial estimation, which is a bonus that usually negates the lavatory experience to me. Others may feel differently.

    @@Jack_Rice Flown the 757 a few times transatlantic, back with American when they had them, and most recently 2 months ago on United. Economy was so crampt!

    @@Tpavra I've flown many times across the Atlantic on different airlines, different aircraft types. The A321neo narrowbody aircraft can be just as comfortable as some widebody aircraft...the B757 is older and slightly narrower than the A321s, in fact it has the same fuselage diameter as the B737 series (and B727/B707, if we want to go old school)...it's not terrible but it does give up a few important inches to the Airbus. However, except for legroom, which is the airline's choice, I don't find narrowbodies to be significantly less comfortable than some widebodies in coach/economy - I'm looking at you B777 and B787!
