The best part about winning the Super Bowl is coming here and seeing other teams' reactions when they lose to us in the playoffs.

Tom is great at this. He convinced me that he is a hardcore 49ers fan and I know how much he hates them given what they have done to his Packers.

As a Niners fan, accurate. Lol. The moment we said we were starting with the ball in OT I knew it was over. Our offense hadn't been dynamic or dominant enough to secure a TD and ensure the Chiefs were playing under pressure. And when we settled for a FG instead of going for it on 4th down I just looked to my family and said "game." Sure enough, Mahomes delivered. Another SB loss for us. But hey, we got there. Brock played really well given the circumstances. So I'm not worried about him moving forward. He's only going to get better. But we need a better O Line to protect him. Especially on the right side. We've continued to focus too much on our Defense which was already stacked, and it really didn't improve from last season to this one. We've got the Defense already. We just need that O Line.

I'm really interested to see how Purdy develops through his career. The Chiefs secondary was no joke and he threw some damn pretty passes into very tight coverage. He's got a mind for recognizing coverage schemes and quickly working through progressions, which should only get better with more experience.

If they can't score a TD it doesn't matter when they get the ball in OT. Chiefs get the ball first they're almost certainly scoring a TD so the 49ers have to match anyways. And then afterwards the Chiefs win when they kick a field goal. Receiving the ball was the right call, just had to go for it aggressively on 4th down. 3rd and 4 in the RZ should be 2-down territory

​@@calvin7330Receiving the ball also allowed their defense to rest and regroup for a bit after just being on the field...and had they gotten the stop on that 3rd and long or that 4th and 1, the fg would've been enough to win them the game I do agree that Niners final 3rd down should've been better in both playcalling and pass pro tho afaik Kyle doesn't really have go-to plays in his bag unlike Andy Reid

@@calvin7330The Chiefs went for it in 4th down in their own territory. They wouldn’t have done that if they didn’t know how many points they need to score to tie. The sheet that goes first will always take less risks because they want to give their defense the best chance possible to bail them out. That’s the real advantage of going second. Sure, if both teams score field-goal, or a touchdown, the team that gets the ball first has the advantage now in sudden death, you know exactly how many points you need to score to tie or win, you can have total playcalling freedom

@@MrDavidknigge It's the system. Shanahan's system is so reliant on those skill positions. Then there was Wilkes who clashed with the style of the team. But the Niners didn't seem to be great on depth compared to some other teams like the Ravens and Bills. But at the same time, Niners are still very strong and will be back next year.

Why did it have to be the Chiefs again? Come on man. Is this because of Madison Bumgarner going God Mode in the World Series nearly a decade ago?

I've been a 49er fan since I can remember which includes the ridiculous glory years of the 80s and 90s, and yeah that means I also saw the blackout bowl, the loss to the chiefs in 19/20 and now this one. I really feel way better about this game than I did about the last two. And I feel way better about our chances for next season to get back to the Super Bowl. I know it's painful to lose the big game but think about how teams like Dallas and The Eagles feel like what do they have to look forward to? We've got clear marching orders for our off season and while not everything will necessarily go the way we need it to, we've got a huge runway to take challenge for supremacy in 24/25. Looking forward to seeing what offseason moves we make including the draft! And clearly the 49ers and the Packers are gonna be back as rivals and it's great we get to play each other in the regular season. Let's gooooooo

I’ve only watched them lose 2 superbowls (Band wagoned when we’re 9-0 in 2019) and the 2019 one hurt more immediately but the long term pain of this one is worst because our team is older now and we only have 1 more year of cheap qb play

I have an honest question. Why is it when teams dont make the playoffs the fan bases say they would rather not go to the playoffs than lose in the SB? Yet when their team loses in the SB they say that at least they made it to the SB. If your team made the SB it is still a good season. People need to quit pretending that they are glad their team didnt make it. You just want to celebrate one of the teams losing (and thats fine) but you dont actually believe its better to not play in the SB than lose the SB.

Well it depends, usually it would be better for a team to be really bad, rather than consistently average. Teams that win every single year just enough to flirt with playoff contention and lose first round, or just miss out on playoff contention in the final week usually neither have the best players to win the really important games, nor are they so bad that they get great draft picks the following season. Prime example are the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, or Minnesota Vikings. They end up in a sort of perpetual mid-tier state. In a sport without relegation, that's not really desirable. Sure their fans get to experience winning a lot, but ultimately its the continual hope that builds up over the course of the season, that this might be your year, only to lose again in the playoffs. If you're a fan of a terrible team, you instantly have hope that the next season will be better and you have the chance of drafting that next level elite talent that will rocket your team to the top.

If you look at the Bengals, Bills, and Chiefs. All of those fan bases went through really bad seasons right before they shot up to being at the top of contention. The Bengals went 2-14 (2019) and 4-11-1 (2020), which allowed them to get their hands on Jamar Chase, Tee Higgins, and Joe Burrow and they instantly went to the Super Bowl in 2021. The Bills went 6-10 in 2018, and it was that first round pick that they earned that, through a series of trades got them Josh Allen. They have since won the AFC East for the last four years. The Chiefs went 2-14 in 2013 and then proceeded to get Travis Kelce in the following draft year and started the next season 9-0.

Also gotta add in having a back office that is really forward thinking on how to manage the cap, otherwise you end up having to watch all your top talent walk. Bengals and Chiefs have been pretty good at walking that line, while it looks like the Bills are gonna get smacked.

It all depends on if there's hope that was lost. Like, the bills are heartbroken right now but the Lions have enough hope to shake off what happened and have a shot at being better next year.

Following the reaction, to their idea that the SB was a sure thing, the Niners fans are distraught and flat-screen destructive. It is proof of the fact that evaluating a team, by what the brain dead media says is problematic. Dolphins, Bills, Ravens, and 49ers fans were ALL told that KC was inferior. Guess what....they got it wrong. Always consider yourselves underdogs when Mahomes is on the field.

The silence after “bring it on, Baltimore” was so good I held in my laugh out of respect. Addendum: 6:01 needs to be released as a ringtone.

It was way less stressful being a Seahawks fan this year. Get into the playoffs as a wildcard and it's pure gravy. If not, well, it forces the team to finally shake things up. And the latter obviously happened. And it's even better next year because no one can really figure out what to expect from them, so any success is going to be bonus.

Being a 49er fan this video was an accurate ride.

As a Seattle fan, I would like to remind you that both the Rams and Seahawks have won superbowls this century and SF has not. Arizona thought about it but forgot to play defense on one last drive.

As a cowboys fan: YES SF YES scream in pain and terror at what happened to you in the OT superbowl. Honestly though, you guys did good congrats on making it to the bowl.

This is spot on. I laughed at how funny and accurate this is, just like all of the great videos this season. I dont know if I'm more excited next season for the actual games or more of Tom's great videos. I enjoyed these all season long. I'm 55 and have been a 9er fan my entire life. Born and raised in San Francisco. I remember hearing stories from my Dad about watching the 9ers play at Kezar Stadium when he was a kid and growing up. Our family had season tickets for almost 30 years from the mid 70's to the early 2000's. Been fortunate to see some pretty historic games.

Despite the L in the big game, this was one hell of a season to be from the Bay. Week in and week out seeing Brock throw dimes, McCaffrey run like hell and our defense have their moments, I was pleasantly entertained these past months. This season I fell in love with the 9ers and now I just want next season to come already😭

Why did the Niners want the ball first in OT? That still baffles me. That was a critical mistake by the Coaches not the players. The Niners’ entire Coaching staff should be mortified that this wasn’t brought up in any of their meetings and on top of that, so many of their players didn’t understand the new rule. Inexcusable. Yup... that pretty much summed up my year.

As a Packers fan, ever since THAT playoff game two years ago, I’ve hated 49ers more than the NFC north. And after beat the packers again 😒 this season I really wanted the chiefs to win. And they did! Take that niners! The packers fan in me gets the last laugh yet again! 😝 (PS fun fact, every time the 49ers beat the packers in the playoffs, they don’t end up winning the Super Bowl

Teams in the NFC after beating the packers at home in playoffs seem to lose in the SB. Falcons, Seahawks did that too.
