that is a must... i´ve seen damaged engines by not doing so. Sand and debris accumulate and when the sparks are removed they fall in to the top of the cilinders. That´s why there are good mecanics and just curious guys messing with cars and doing big mistakes.

I replaced mine after 25000km, a lot of trackday, 2 years and were almost finished. Same procedure and I added a tip of copper grease on the thread. Good job mate we will wait you for the gearbox oil change.

This is as closest to Car ASMR. Totally enjoy it.

That’s a valid worry! I’m a professional German Technician with Audi and Mercedes Benz experience and starting out you should not but with experience you can do that and not strip threads 👍🏻

I’m currently working as a mechanic in Greece, friends have told me that in Germany every bolt has to be tighten with torque wrench and now I can believe them. And most important very organized.

Οι ζημιες που γινονται απο το σφιξιμο με το χερι ειναι πολλες. Σφιξιμο των μπουζι , ταπας καρτερ , πλαστικο καπακι φιλτρο λαδιου, επιβαλλεται να σφιγγονται με ροποκλειδο. Το οτι στην Ελλαδα σφιγγουν ακομη και κεφαλες με το χερι, δεν αλλαζουν βιδες με νεες οταν απαιτειται σφιξιμο σε μοιρες, ειναι μια απο τις αιτιες οτι πολλα αυτοκινητα καταστρεφονται στα συνεργεια.

You can use both oil specs for gasoline engines.

This is most complicated engine ever...

Far from it. Go look at any Bugatti engine, or a rotary aircraft engine, or a Honda CVCC engine from the 1970s, or the Volvo turbo-and-supercharged engine, or even a “basic” BMW twin turbo I6 from the last 5 years. There are hundreds more complicated engines out there.

Where did you get your gloves from?

Anti seize ? And silicone grease ?.... and an impact driver to tighten the spark plugs ? 🙂

Hi und danke :) Für das Video habe ich die GoPro Hero 8 verwendet und sie mit einer Kopfhalterung befestigt. Die Hero 8 ist eine tolle Cam aber die älteren Modelle ab der Hero 4 sind auch empfehlenswert.

Grüß Dich, du ich habe heute die Arbeiten erledigt die ich zu tun hatte: Ich habe einen 535i F10, und habe das Problem, dass der Wagen sich nach einem warmen aus- und wiedereinschalten sich stark schüttelt (sodass er manchmal sogar ausgeht) BMW-Diagnose sagt: P0172: Gemisch zu Fett Nach 4 Std. Arbeit, 6x Injektoren, 6xZündkerzen, 6x Zündspulen, LMM, 2xLambdas, 2 Saugdrucksensor, Luft- und Innenraum-Filter und Motorölwechsel mit dem Addinol, war vorerst ruhe! Jedoch schüttelt sich der Wagen extrem nach einem warmen aus- und wiedereinschalten wieder. Ich bin am verzweifeln Hast Du vielleicht ne Idee?

Usually 4 years or 60,000 km

The interval is 4years/75.000km for the pre-facelift model and 3years/60.000km for the facelift model. I change the spark plugs after 2 years.

I agree with you to change them every two years or every two maintenances (so every 40000 km). I find the usual interval too long. Especially for the pre-facelift model... why there is a difference between them ?

Hey ich hab eine Frage bezüglich dem ÖLWECHSEL beim W212 E350 CDI OM642 und zwar saugen manche das ÖL von der Ölwanne raus da sich noch 1,5 cm ÖL am Boden der Ölwanne befindet das nicht aus der Ölablassbohrung rausfließt da sie weiter oben sitzt und das alte Öl somit nicht rausfließen kann. Wäre mega wenn du mal ein Video davon machen Könntest ( Ölwechsel ) w212 350cdi

Naja, 1,5 cm ist übertrieben. Es sind vielleicht 5 mm. Aber Absaugen ist natürlich nicht schlecht zumal man das zurückbleibende Öl im Ölfiltergehäuse sowieso absaugen muss.

Die original Zündkerzen kommen schon geprüft. Ich schaue mir die Zündkerze nur noch kurz an bevor ich sie einbaue.

No need if using ngk. Comes already coated with anti seize

And it took like 2 minutes to change all 4 plugs on my old Golf mk2 hahaha.

Not going to happen. Engines are becoming ever more complex, due to the added systems to extract more power, and emission controls. Diesels are especially terrifying in this regard.

It's not easy to design the engine to be easily serviced or maintained. There are so many requirements for engine design and ease of maintenance/service is not at the the top of the list. It's actually better for the car manufacturers to make it difficult to service so the home mechanic is more likely to take it to the dealer.

So much stuff in the way. What happened to simple

The designer of that engine needs a kick in the balls. Spark plugs are a routine service item so access to them should be easy.

indian mechanics would have done this job in 10mins by tearing the wires apart,
