@@alejandrodeleon9330 Unfortunately mods require everyone connecting to the server to have them installed. Otherwise it won't let you join. So generally speaking you'll only see mods on servers specifically catering to said mods, not any of the big servers like GS or GAW/PGAW.

Just so everyone knows, with the new EFM for the Skyhawk will come the working ( correction EDIT :CP-741 bombing computer, not the LABS radar bombing system) and proper payload weight effect on the vehicle as well. In my humble opinion this is the best free Mod for DCS. These guys poured their hear and soul into this project and it shows. For anyone who hasnt tried it yet and maybe is new to DCS this plane plays AMAINGLY in VR. Its the only plane where I fly with a VR controller for flipping the switches in the cockpit. The Skyhawk also has a unique bomblet dispenser that is absolutely devastating. You can essentially use it like a crop duster, setting the length of each salvo and the time between bomblets. You can use short bursts to cover a small area, or set it to dump all at once and run in low on an airfield or convoy. Genuinely some of the most fun you have have in DCS. Thanks for showcasing this GS!

I guess I need to try out more of the things I don't know yet in its armament list XD Agree it is the best mod and it's going to be even better. The other great one I have in mind is the MB-339 which also is very well done and also becoming an official module. Anyone trying out DCS should definately get those two ASAP. And use the free trial that's going at the moment.

@@CakePrincessCelestia YA I got the SKyhawk and the Mb-339 around the same time. I would say that the M-339 is maybe even a better looking model than the skyhawk but I just dont have the historical draw to the mb-339 that I do to the Skyhawk.. As a trainer the Mb-339 is a wonderful aircraft though and super well done mod.. The F-22 raptor mod is actually coming along too, theyve done alot of work since last time I saw it

It's doesn't have LABs, its on the LAB's switch as a placeholder until we can update the function selector animation. The computer modeled is the CP-741/A which was also present in the A7E. The CP-741/A id for conventional and nuclear weapons delivery and is much much more accurate than the Labs system.

I love this MoD. I have FC3, Huey, F16 but this is my favourite. It does everything, the module has Nav kit, fuel management, terrain radar, it is the absolute business. I just wish it was easier to get into in multiplayer cold war servers.

The Royal New Zealand Air Force 1987 "Kahu upgrade" A4K Skyhawk would be a good one for DCS it has a APG-66 Radar type used in the first block F-16s and a full Head up Display as well as sidewinders, mavericks and laser guided bombs.

Gotta love Heinemann's Hotrod! I swear, the day I get a good rig AND DCS, this is the first baby I'm hitting up..

It would be cool if they had an Essex class carrier to operate from.

I downloaded dcs yesterday, and first thing I did was A4, and c130.

@@allent555 It's FSX Freeware quality in terms of how it looks, but it's a functional C-130 Super Herc that you can use to transport cargo, drop paratroopers, LAPSE drop, and configure as a gunship. And it's free. Hats off to the guys who developed it.

Im digging the more complete mission sets . A Target and a dogfight is really entertaining (obviously its got to be a multirole). Would love a Hornet "Smash and Fight" vid.

agreed. the full mission was just satisfying to watch. especially since it was pretty realistic that hes pitted against a Fishbed and all the challenges that throws at ya!

Spectacular A 4 Skywalk, Wonderfull Navy Sensors, Incredible Inteligent Missiles, Fantastic Radar System, Absolutely Fantastic.

I work as an Aerospace Engineer and we have 2 of these in the shop right now. One is completely taken apart with the aft fuselage dethatched from the fwd section (for inspection and modifications). Cool video though!! Love all your stuff, keep it up man!!

Honestly, I think the A-4 design could be viable even today were it updated. There is nothing to dislike about it, and the design could easily be made supersonic with a modern engine and other minor alterations. And yeah, an A-4 vs. a MiG-21 is going to be a bad day for the MiG-21. The MiG-21 is an interceptor and has very poor maneuverability, where as the A-4 is a small and nimble attack aircraft capable of tight turns.

It's pretty crazy when you get in this thing. I can honestly say the roll rate has gotten me killed in so far as in any other aircraft you would expect to roll left or right and crank away from a threat, in this thing you may just go inverted and pull into the ground.

The developers have a former A4 pilot giving them feedback on the flight characteristics. Apperently... this is real. But if you go full stick you pass out after one rotation :)

Looks like the SAM site switched off their radar - they had a second missile in the air that stopped tracking and your Shrike just kept turning downwards when it lost contact

VMA-124, my old squadron! Quebec Papa tailcode. We flew the upgraded A-4E in the '70s. Had the J52-P8B engines, 9,300 lbs. of thrust. Basically a Foxtrot. Glad to see it! Too bad no squadron insignia (Whistling Death/the flying skull).Now let's see what it can do.....

Great presentation. Glad to see it fly the way it does. Comes to show effective it can be despite limitations. Just look at Argentina in the Falklands.

Brilliant thanks, the undercarriage looks so fragile compared to the F14 and F/A18. Makes me wonder if they had an issue with damaged aircraft on recoveries. Thanks for another great video. Have tried to sort the A5 several times but each time there has been an issue. This has definitely given me the kick to try again.

Another great vid, Sidewinder! The interior is pitch perfect. My uncle serviced these during the Vietnam War...you're right they called "scooters" or something like that. I think Sen. John McCaine was an A4 pilot and shot down in one.

What an incredible time in aviation. The A-4 start date on its design as early 1952... Chance Vought had not long completed the F-2G Corsair that took the diminutive Navy fighter past 430 mph at 16000 ft. with a whopping range of 2000 miles using drop tanks! 6 years late Douglas delivered the A-4 that could fly 674 mph at sea level and had a ferry range of 2000 miles! I love prop aircraft. The A-1 Skyraider and corsairs went on to fight in Korea and of course the Skyraider fought throughout Vietnam. However, the A-4 was the workhorse of several nations until the early 2000’s. Today the A-4 is highly prized by wealthy private owners. It’s still one of the most economical fighter jet aircraft to own and operate. Fun video

I think Brazil's navy still operate modernized versions of the A4

It has been a long time since I fired a Shrike but if the mod includes the operation of the APG-52 Radar and if the AJB-3 AAI is reading the missile seeker head and displaying the needles, it is a lot easier to find and hit a Fan Song search radar. With the radar on and air to ground selected, SIDS will display any emitter it sees as a yellowish small oval on the radar as a ground position. Read range from the face of the scope as a relative position. You have two options, loft the weapon or go high and shoot it down the throat. Firing at low altitude and level as you did puts a target out of range, and even if the missile sees the emitter it won't lock on.

Great vid Saw Kiwi A4s in Malaysia in the mid 80s. Boy they flew low and hard. They fought hard im told against our Mirages. Its great to hear its going to be more complete. :)

Wish you would’ve shown with labels so we could see the angles these 2 were pulling. The A4 is absolutely a good dog fighter. Like you said it was the adversary aircraft at Top Gun. And for a long time. They were stripped down but already very lightweight. They also had the upgraded engines. The thrust to weight ratio was on par with the Mig-21 I believe but even before that this thing was very nimble.

In Vietnam the US SEAD escorts were fine with how inaccurate the Shrike was, and that the SAMs would turn off their radar to avoid it. The Vietnamese SA-2 operators knew to what to do when a shrike was launched, but turning off their radar gave a window for the strike aircraft to do their mission, which is really the point of SEAD, creating that window. Eventually the US pilots figured out that they could just fire an unguided Zuni rocket, and the SA-2 operators would think it was an ARM and shut off their radars

I recall stories of my great uncle flying one of these when he was in the navy. I can't remember if he was in this or the A6 when his was engine blasted out of the back over the Mediterranean.

The A-4’s intake noise is probably the loudest thing I have ever been around

From the son of a Wild Weasel Air Division Commander....SEAD is pronounced SEE-ADD. The correct call for a Shrike launch is SHOTGUN. MAGNUM is used for HARM only. Nice maneuvers in the A-4 though. The MIG-21 made the right choice to fight you in the vertical. I think he had poor energy management. He had the power advantage and didn't try to force you to bleed all of your energy. Judging by the way the missiles just vanished in Tacview, I was inclined to believe they responded to the Shrike threat by turning the Radar off, like you had mentioned before, rather than you having notched the missiles. But that's just a guess.

Shrikes job was to mark the site... So it could be finished with a dispenser. If it happened to hit the dish, bonus. AGM-78 the follow on, could go memory point if they turned the radar off.

The fact that people are out there putting together flight models for free is just wild. That shit's complicated.

Usually those Sa-sites are protected by a few manpads or AAA. That would make those missions more challanging.
