Giblets… Brown them on both sides in a 3 qt pan, adding a little oil. Add chunks of onions and celery, poultry seasoning, sage, and water to cover all. Simmer while turkey or chicken roasts. Now you have the base to your gravy. Strain broth and return to pan. Add roaster drippings and thicken with water and corn starch or water and flour. Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as needed. Easy and delicious. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰

We use our turkey giblets for gravy and cornbread dressing. Cook on stove with enough water to cover all. When completely cooked, de-bone & dice up, add to gravy (similar to Debi’s) and to cornbread dressing with additional turkey diced pieces, celery, onion, herbs, etc. 😋😋

Giblet gravy is superb. Just put them in with the bird with some broth then when the meat is done strain the broth and thicken it for gravy. Or boil egg noodles in the broth. So flavorful

I love the pumpkin shaped rolls. How clever! The whole meal is inspirational. We often fall into the rut of saving our “good” dinnerware for best. I say use it at least once a week: Saturday brunch, Sunday breakfast, Sunday dinner, Meatless Mondays or Taco Tuesdays. Make it a habit to luxuriate through a meal. Thanks for all the Thanksgiving recipes! 🦃🦃🦃

Everything looks delicious. I cook / boil in water or chicken broth the giblets to make my gravy . Also ,I always, always cut off the (but) part of the chicken or turkey. I just can't see baking the part of bird where they get rid of their body waste. Thank you for sharing your ideas.

I use giblets minus liver to make broth. Sauté giblets until browned, add water, bones, vegetable scraps (saved in freezer) and simmer for hours or use instapot.

Fantastic job making a delicious holiday meal! You could have added a bit of your cranberry sauce to the Brie and cinnamon apple appetizer. It would have added a pop of color and another layer of flavor. I love the cute pumpkin dinner rolls! I bet your boys were excited to see them on their plates.

I cook giblets minus the liver (refrigerate till needed)covered in water with a small onion, bay leaf, salt and pepper. Bring to boil then simmer for 1-1 1/2 hour depending on size. Add liver and contine to simmer for another half hour. Chop meat as small as possible and I add to my stuffing mix. You can also add to gravy for giblet gravy.

So many people tell me that they have a hard time cooking a moist bird and they don't like the taste of the dark meat. I have always cooked my birds the way my grandparents showed me to not have either of those problems and I am always asked how I did it. So I'll share, just in case. Slice up a apple and toss it inside the bird. If you don't have a extra apple, use your peels and core (without the seeds) instead. You don't need to remove the skin if using a whole apple. It keeps the meat moist and sweetens the dark. You can also use a orange or a combination of both for a larger turkey. Just remove the fruit before serving. The extra moisture will help the gravy taste great as well.

This meal looks amazing and the chicken looked so juicy and tender. Well done! The only thing I want to add is that you do not need to throw away the fat from the drippings. I use the fat to make a roux as the base for my gravy. Then I add the liquid part of the drippings to the roux and thicken. You can add water if it is too thick. It makes a delicious and rich gravy that does not separate when left to stand. It just gives extra flavour without having to use butter. In fact, it taste better than using butter in the roux.

Maria! Maria, Maria, Maria! That French bread recipe is wonderful! Please do a video just on bread. Showing us within this video seemed to leave some gaps in the process. I am an experienced bread maker so I was able to make do. The issue we have is that we us Einkorn wheat flour almost exclusively. This flour behaves very differently from modern wheat flour so we have to adapt a little. We have tried MANY bread recipes looking for that simple everyday sandwich bread. Some recipes have come close just not close enough. Along with being the right texture, etc, it also has to be fairly easy to produce a loaf. Your recipe seems to be fairly predictable as well which is great! Mix it, knead it, put in the covered bowl for one hour. Put it in the loaf pan for 30 mins while the oven preheats, bake covered with foil for 30 mins, remove foil, bake another 15-20mins. Two things. I do not have a stand mixer so I use a stiff spatula in a downward slicing? motion round and round the bowl for 7 mins. Since I wanted a sandwich loaf I used a two pound Pullman loaf pan. Turns out great. Thank you SO much!
