Ol’ Man here. I had nothing to do then I decided to watch this video 😉 If you’re wearing slimline boots (ie not ones with fat reinforced toes), then the cylinders don’t get in the way. There’s not room to lift your feet high obviously, but I’ve not found an issue. Build quality is exemplary! BMW have made a horrendous mistake discounting new bikes, devaluing used ones, however, that mistake now makes a tremendous deal if you’re buying used (or a massive loss to the seller!), so if it fits, get it! They’re very quirky and bold. I know you love the torque of the T120; the R18’s torque is massive from tickover! 👍🏼👍🏼

Hi Willie, I test rode the R18 Classic with screen, saddlebags and extra lights. I absolutely loved it. I'm 6'2" with UK size 12 cruiser boots. No issues at all with my feet. Mighty powerful torque machine. I ended up buying a used Indian Springfield however, as I couldn't bring myself to buy a bike with shorty mudguards and spoked wheels.

I have been dealing with Chinese engineered products for years in an industrial environment and as a result, I wouldn't give the MBP house room. (Mostly Broken Parts...My Bike's Plastic...I could go on...but I won't), plus your comment about after sales service and spares is probably very valid and it'll probably be worth about two and a half quid when the warranty runs out. It looks pretty cool I'll admit, but he only real upside I can see is that he could run around pretending to be Judge Dredd :) The beamer on the other hand is a work of art in my opinion and as bikes become ever smaller, which is inevitable, it'll be a collectors item one day. Mark my words. No contest mate. All the best.

I owned a T120 back in 2016, very nice bike. I currently own a R18FE. Had it nearly two years. Very different bikes. The Triumph is an all rounder, the R18 isn’t so don’t expect it to be. The R18 feels special and an occasion to ride. Size 15 feet I think you will struggle tbh. If you do test ride, don’t wear bulky stiff footwear for a start, ride in Rock, short shift it don’t rev it out. R18 is gorgeous I love mine.

Thanks for the comments Jon , I did actually sit on an R18 the other day (forgot to mention it on my video!) and with my size 15 bike boots it felt very tight so sadly its not the the bike for me but my mate loved it and I think will probably buy one

Bruce does a great job. I will disqualify myself from the big cruiser opinion as I don't like any of them. Never did, but as I get older they're too much to heft about. Hope the move goes well, the country life is great. At least where I live, very quiet and peaceful. I wish the same for you.

The R18 would be my choice. 10K would get you a decent used Harley, that would hold its value much better than the MBP.

Meds, eh… 😂 I do enjoy and have subscribed to Coastrider’s channel. Nice call-out for him. I’d say the Beemer is a safer bet with less risk to that amount of $ in the long haul. But the quality of the Chinese bikes is every growing. Knock-offs though many may be… guess it depends on what you can afford to play with. Love your channel, mate. (Multiple channels and all subscribed?? Hah! Guilty here as well! 😃)

I own a T120 and have ridden the R18 and would not swap the Bonnie for the R18 (and I'm speaking as a BMW fan-boy) Quite apart from the weight and riding position, I can't think of anything the R18 can do that the T120 can't.

Thanks for that John 👍 my Bonneville is definitely the best bike I've ever owned ...been through a load of bikes in the past few years and really think the Bonnie is the bike I've always been looking for! So however nice the R18 looks in reality it's never going to be an option

The C1000 is very thirsty if that's an issue. I'd like to see an 850 version of the BMW in the lower engine size for that style of bike like the 850 cc Moto Guzzis.

I love the R18! I’d have one if I had garage space. And over here, used ones with really low miles are very reasonably priced.

Ah didn't realise they came in other colours! Yep they do look really good but knowing how long I keep bikes for I'd be worried about deprecation and parts etc.....maybe in a few years time

The reason 2d hand r18's are so cheap is because they dont hold their value. Bmw struggles to sell them, recently they did a end of the year -5k discount in my country. Something u cant imagine on a GS. A GS holds its value really well because its popular, while an r18 loses half its value in the first year which is crazy.

Interestingly, I was trying to have a go on the MBP1000 press bike and it was fully booked by the big KZread Influencer channels. Would be an interesting ride for sure... I can see the appeal.

Absolute no brainer! The Chinese bike with rust away before his eyes! Depreciation will be like a black hole! He will struggle to get parts for it and will have problems selling it when the time comes. The BMW R18 is the exact opposite to that and it will be much cooler to ride and own! 😎

HE could get a decent second hand Harley Davidson a Fatbob 2015-2018 era or a Softail & new Indian 101 Scout range coming out later in year looks fantastic. I would of chosen the R18 myself cause of Resale value & parts & services after warranty is finished.Ride MPV for 3-5months & trade it for a used R18 through a Dealership when one comes up while there's still heaps of warranty left.

I really don't like the mbp c1000, just in terms of looks, it's not a classic, the "fairings" look tacky and very unnecessary. But to an extent this is just how things are made for the Chinese market. You might have noticed with cars, for the last ten years there's been more and more with silly oversized grills and future industrial aesthetic, this what the Chinese market likes, and personally I hate. But to each their own.

Bmw all day before Chinese got nothing against Chinese I love prawn fried rice but that’s as far as I would go but let’s face it look how much stuff like on eBay it’s mostly from china but bike wise never Chinese ride safe

Honestly I'd buy the BMW for several reasons. Firstly the quality is going to be so much better. Secondly, even though it is far from the most sought after BMW, the residual value is going to be streets in front of a pretty unproven Chinese make. Thirdly the BMW just looks so much better.

The R18 is ugly and I have always hated their fishtail type exhaust. I would never buy a Chinese bike. Resale would suck as I bet the depreciation is brutal on a brand I have never heard of. At least BMW has a global sales and parts network. Bloody PRC
