Yeah I got 2 S9’s & did the same thing a year ago, set 1 for solo & 1 for Braiins pool, I turn them on from time to time just to tinker around, going to grab a S19 when price is right 🦾🦾

i have the adapter for the 140MM Noctua fans on it and it runs almost silent . Even when i run it wide open 16TH fans 100% its still about as loud as a box fan on high

i picked up two s9 13th about 6 months ago, i could not figure out how to reset the hive os the previous owner had on them and gave up, do you have a solution to this?

There is a video on Braiins I believe on the website but should be one on KZread, if I can remember I think you have to leave the sd card in when you flash it 🤔

Did you ever hit a block on solo/lottery mining ?

I have three comps with 3090s in them that have been shut down since Eth POW stopped. Should I fire them up again to mine something, if so what do you recommend?

You can get 4Th at 290w just disable 2 hashboards in Brains and use only 1 hashboard you can tune it for 4Th and should get around 290w

have you ever switched out the control board and combined two s9s together and used the s10 firmware

@@TheHobbyistMiner you can either solder the new connectors onto your current board as it looks like it has space for more or pick up one that already has the connections for 6 hashboards i think the s17 control boards already have the connections but the 2 s9s combined uses less power than the 2 seperate

I love Bitcoin! The OG Crypto! Started mining it with my gaming PC when I wasn't using it to game. Looking into buying a small lottery miner like this or the Canaan.

I did this and lost 40$ monthly, all KZread fail to tell right off the bat that you will lose money. You're better off with An L3+ at 660W you'll actually make some $$ with it, unlike with an S9.

You can still put in orders with Canaan, but they are having trouble ramping up production. So there's an order backlog and that's why resellers don't have them yet.

Yeah I was thinking of mining SOL that way but have hearing that UnMinable has been stealing a little hashrate from users, I was thinking about doing a solar setup outside those S9’s are like tanks so shouldn’t be a problem in a shed or carport as long as it’s dry 🤷🏾

your fan speeds said zero at the 300w setting. did you set it there intentionally?

I modded my S9 for solo bitcoin mining changed the stock fans out for noctua fans. Getting 3.4TH at 265W from the wall!

for the hash and power, this isn't good for those paying for power. The nano3 is around 100W, but its has a 65w power supply??? ( just going by what I read). I've solar, so running a L3+ with a hash board removed, which means the power is free and met by the solar (i have a big battery too). That loses money or rather it is not a good investment, as the power cost put else where represents better value! Im looking for seriously low power or a good (reasonable) return, and that's not easy to find.

I Love Bitcoin because it gives me the governance of my own currency!

Personally would rather have a Canaan Avalon nano 3 over running a S9. They can be loud and the nano 3 has way better efficiency (I think)

This thing sucks 1320w which is insanely high. For only 14th/s … much more efficient to get three nano 3 to get 12th and use 300w. Cost to run this is $350 per month in Australia!
