    I'm a metalworker. Magnets are a terrible idea for anything requiring tight tolerances, not to mention reciprocating actions. I dont want my pistol to attract the iron filings that are ubiquitous in the real world. The triangular barrel is a freaking amazing idea. I won't knock the work that he put into this, but I've noticed that people using magnets as a solution to something generally overlook the way they accumulate ferrous particles to them.

James: "Hey, that's a cool gun, I'm here with the creator, can you tell us about your gun?" *Guy speaks for 2min and it only says that the gun takes Shadow 2 mags* 🤦🏼‍♂️ So James has to be "okay, but can you talk about the gun, how that's better than the shadow 2? What's the difference between this and the shadow 2?" And the guy goes "first of all, the looks of the gun" lol 🤡 And from there, this guy starts talking about a complicated solution for a problem that doesn't exist (shadow 2 accuracy) and putting magnets on everything. James is a true professional! I wouldn't have all that patience.

It's deffinetly not a duty or carry gun so they should lean more into the art and collectors piece aspect of it. I mean he clearly stated that it's a limited run. Pro competition shooters run 2011s and Shadows anyway.

    Honestly, this feels like the gun equivalent of a concept car. Like, it's beautiful and weird in all the ways that grab attention, with a price tag that means it will be unprofitable as a product in of itself, but the ideas that are put forward in this gun (and most likely patented) like the triangularly locking barrel and the magnetically adjustable trigger are the real reason this exists and I could see this designer making it big by either incorporating them into a more economical/more mass producable package, or more likely by licensing out the feature set to other companies looking to make a handgun with these features

    @BigBear--

    3 ай бұрын

    @@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 To be honest there probably isn't much to it of you're talking about a high quality made circular barrel vs a triangular barrel. But in theory with a triangular barrel there might be some very slight advantages depending on how it's manufactured. In theory it could be a stiffer design if the thinnest wall thickness is comparable to a round barrel, which means that the rest of the edges are thicker, and a triangle is a very strong design, so it'll make a stiffer barrel as far as barrel harmonics. It might also allow for a more perfect bore cut during manufacturing. Finally depending on the action design, it might make for better slide to barrel fit, and more precise action. These are all just the "in theory" ideas of why it might be better. Though honestly with moden manufacturing techniques, it's hard to imagine there being any serious improvement or difference made in performance. At the end of the day it's not super difficult to design really accurate firearms, that are far more accurate than any human shooter. Most firearms are more than accurate enough, and more accurate than the user. The rest is more about feel and form... At the end of the day guns like these are not about function, but about exclusivity and form. To be an excuse for someone with extra money to buy something cool and exclusive. That gun won't do anything that a $1000-2000 CZ Shadow 2 won't do the same, or do better. Or that a custom gunsmith can't do for you for $10-25K.

But you don't get anywhere near the accuracy of a factory SIG P210, easily giving you the same spread at twice the distance. At least in my experience. The SIG is quite expensive, yes ... but at a third of the price of this Elysian, being among the most precise pieces of mechanical work ever made in the realm of handguns, I would rather have two of those and have them fitted specifically to me by the factory, or even reworked into taking 2011-mags, just to go overkill in customization. 😅🙈

Shockwaves travel threw the entire material, and just seeing the G forces with the mass of the optic, I know its constructed to weak to sustain longer periods of time. Its only aesthetically pleasing, not mechanically. Go check out slomos of AKs and Raceguns with side mounted rails. Even a junk of metal connected with 4 screws will flex. So, the least you need is an even bigger junk of metal that is connected on both sides of the receiver and not allow for any off angled momentum.

    Something similar to what I have been hoping someone would come up with in designing firearms. Not totally what I had in mind but getting close to it with this one. Magnets, yes. I mean if it were to me, I would like to see a firearm not necessarily a hand gun but any firearm that has the action working with magnets. The sear capabilities of magnets to attract and repel based on the poles is such a great way to utilise its pull and push energy in gun mechanism. The action in guns if uses magnets instead of springs for the bolt to go back and forth or even the gas piston, that would be very convenient with less wear and tear from friction and all the energy can be utilised without any waste. We can design a gun bolt being pushed forward with magnets opp poles and have less parts in the gun this less weight.
