Can't go wrong with a 124 gr Gold dot in 9mm. IMO the Gold dot and the HST are the best 124 gr performers in 9mm

I am no fan of the 9mm but we can all be thankful for Underwood ammo!

it's the only 9x19 ammo i would really carry...used to be that HST and GD +Ps were coming in over 1200 from a 4". but with all the tests i've seen recently they are falling well short of that. i'm not looking to carry ammo with 370fpe or something where i would have to make all these mythical "followup shots"

Really good results. +P+ bigger recovered bullet was nice. But both wound channels are good.

Gold dots are just fantastic projectiles , underwood makes them even better. When it comes too ammo, ive always like the saying "speed kills". In the 90's CorBon was king, then came underwood. Its been my EDC ammo for several years. Done many tests with it before I retired, everything they load is very good. My EDC is .357 sig, but when i do carry 9mm i really like underwoods 147gr +P+. I would love to see you test that, to see how it reacts . Best wishes to you and your family.

While I am not a 9mm fan (and no, I would not voluntarily stand in front of one) that +p+ was not bad. The primary concern I have with +p+ is the damage that it can do to a weapon not rated for it. As I have said before, since I want that (and more) performance, I will roll with the .357SIG. Either the P-229 (which I own) or the USP were built from the ground up for the higher pressures of the .357SIG/.40, so all things considered, while impressive, I will stick with the .357SIG. As usual, outstanding work, Az.

@@AzAirgunner. No, thank you, bromigo. YOU are the only tester who does significant work with .357SIG. It seems as if every other one drinks from the "9mm is the best and only viable self defense" fountain. I'm glad to have found your channel. Please keep up the great work.

That’s all well and good but the Full-size USP was never chambered in .357 Sig and standard pressure 9x19 is still higher pressure than .40S&W

those GDs are supposed to be rated at 1225? the comp shouldn't have lost 80fps. 9x19 rounds are getting weakened out...probably the "FBI" saying that their agents can't qualify even on 9mm so they need them watered down. Agents who never, ever get into gunfights are deciding what is "effective" for everyone else

A comp will cost you 50fps minimum, regardless of barrel length. The gas is bled off before the projectile is out of the muzzle.

Don’t want to get hit with either of those!
