Federal HSTs are honestly the best from all the personal research I’ve done

In an HST world, I don't think that +P makes a whole lot of sense. The results are basically identical in this test and HSTs are pretty much the top hollow point design on the market... there really isn't a whole lot to improve upon with a +P, but you do have to contend with higher recoil, slower follow up shots, more wear and tear, etc. That being said, a standard versus +P comparison prolly makes a whole lot more sense with other hollow point designs out there.

Check tests in gelatin. It's more telling, the difference in cavitation and penetration will show better. If your life is on the line, the added cost does make a difference. Especially when it comes to over-penetration and the potential collateral damage that may ensue....

If you have a good comp the extra gas might run it better I believe. Would probably be more reliable at-least.

Very good the only reason I use +p in all my guns is it ensures enough velocity to punch through barriers deeper also helps with reliability in cycling

Well you might be in for a surprise. Usually plus P or fast hollow point rounds tend to penetrate less and expand more.

@@manuelmolina1124 And that's why I prefer +P loads. Stays in the target without over-penetration dumping all it's energy into the target and getting maximum expansion causing more trauma. In other words stopping power.

I have always carried +p. But due to a sale I got some standard pressure. Since both my home and carry are +p rated, I figured regular pressure will make for an easier life on the guns, and faster follow up shots since capacity isn't an issue.

prefer the regular simply due to the fact that I'm willing trade off the better penatration after auto glass, thats one of the main benifits of +P, However you lose in noise level, and recoil. +Ps are fucking loud. They are both permenantly damaging to the ears, but +Ps significantly more damage. I'm willing to trade off barrier penatration for auto glass for significantly less recoil.

True, but that's besides the point. Take the Sig P320 for instance. It is designed to run NATO spec ammo, since it is a military pistol. NATO runs hotter than SAAMI. +P is SAAMI. So if you want to ensure this pistol cycles every time you pull the trigger, you want to run the hotter round.

No need for these 9mm test. 9mm is not important. To much time and resources wasted that could be used to test real rounds.
