Shoutout to the wifey for not being afraid to lift and get her hands dirty. Also while this 100" TV looks amazing, I still can't justify the price over my 120" projector. Can't wait for the price of these to drop to reasonable prices in the near future, I may actually switch back. The main reason is my family is sick of having our family room darkened all the time lol and the ambient light washes out the picture for me too much.

True, and this is still why most people will only use projectors in the basement of their homes or in dedicated media rooms located in the center of the house with no outside walls (or windows). Projectors are wonderful and I've owned several of them myself but you really do have to have strict control over the lighting of the room they will be used in to get the best out of them. That means that they certainly aren't for everyone.

Tell them if it fits on the wall with ventilation/cooling clearance, it's not too big. They seem to get smaller every hour after you install them. my eyeballs are 9 feet from a 85" Sony, and I'm thinking about one of their 98" or similar if this one ever goes South. Movies, sports, bigger is better.

Wonder if they increased the dimming zones for the 65” model. The x90k had 60 for the 65”. Looking at the 98” one today it looks like they didn’t do much to reduce bloom or even add dimming zones. Sony most likely fixed the black light panel problems where if they set the tv’s to high the black lights would go out. I hope this is fixed and isn’t the case anymore.

@@michaelbeckerman7532 They said 'up to 60% more', which is just marketing talk. But even if not... 60% more than nothing is still nothing. The total amount of zones is like 80 according to HDTVtest. Which is just a pitiful amount since every other high-end TV has hundreds of zones these days, even if they aren't miniLED. And especially for a TV this size it's simply not adequate enough to achieve proper dimming. No matter how good their algorhythm is, there's still going to be quite a hefty amount of noticable blooming. It's a shame, really. At least their 95 series TV's do have enough zones these days since they're miniLED.

Can u mount this tv with a extended arm or do they even make them for 98” tv? Would it be too heavy to have it mounted to wall with a extended wall mount? Thx

Does this TV suffer from the hiss issue coming from the tv speakers whrn paired with Sony soundbar? I had the main board replaced on my a90k which didnt fix the issue. Replaced that tv with an A90J which has the same issue as well... Sounds like Sony has this fault on all their TVs since 2021. Pretty inforgivable tbh.
