Who knew there is this and a selection of other similar ones for under $50. If you gotta go cheap. Or have a 'burner' disposable pair for travel or to Moms place etc .

Cool device but no dispay for album cover, so I will stay with my ipod nano 4th and my Sony Xperia E1 for non audiophile listening in pocket size form factor.

I got a Sony NWA45. I ripped all my CDs as .fllac files, and it takes up 109 GB. Sounds awesome. Now, I'm in the long, tedious process of ripping my CD into mp3 @ 320 for a portable CD player that plays mp3 from an SD Card.

I'm still in love with my old 30gb Microsoft Zune :) I've never really used it with headphones though. I have it loaded with music from the 20's to the 50's and old radio shows. I have it hooked up to a talking house AM transmitter and "broadcast" the shows and music to the vintage radios I've restored sitting around the house. A 1933 Philco 18H, a 1947 Hallicrafters S40-A, 1959-60 Magnavox Grand Classic, and soon a 1928 RCA Radiola 60. In the future there will also be a 1930's American Bosch and a 1947 FADA 790. I have both here, stored away for now.

I owned a white zoom 30 gig from 2008 to 2010, then I sold it to a guy at vocational tech school, fast forward six or seven years later I bought one in good condition a black 30 gig on eBay and I've had it ever since then I bought a never opened zoom dock with all the plugs on it those things are so universal you can plug them right into any old device with cassette player or a receiver from the 1970s or newer, and you can use the remote from the dock system to play music across the room, you can even plug in a modern-day Bluetooth receiver/transmitter dongel and play music wirelessly the possibilities are only limited to the amount of adapters you have whether it's a y-adapter or Bluetooth adapter or FM transmitter you can use your zone for anything and play it with headphones with an aux cord or wirelessly, plus the zune is close to 20 years old now and it still works you won't find a used iPod where that car drive didn't crash after 7 or 8 years my hard drive might freeze a little bit once in a while but it still works even though it was built in 2006 you can't say that for the older iPods unless you buy a video or iPod classic that is brand new in the box never used but even then you're going to have to replace the battery because Apple didn't mean for those batteries to last more than three or four years, and I found out when I was trying to have an older iPod classic I used to own repaired at a repair shop that they will not repair past 7 years so if your iPod or Apple product is over 7 years old they won't repair it any longer.

I was just about to say that this reminded me of the MS Zune. I never had one, but I did have a Creative Labs Zen, which had a 20GB hard drive in it (yep, an actual hard drive).

Except for the addition of Bluetooth capability, this MP3 player reminds me of my Coby MP3 players from the early 2000s LOL which isn't necessarily a bad thing. In fact I kind of enjoyed the nostalgia in watching a video about this outdated technology which brought so much happiness back in the day. Thanks for a great video!

Too bad it doesn't switch to the cable mic on the headphone cable when recording.

Yeah, but how dose it sound though through a good pair of Bluetooth/wired headphones, or direct RCA hookups. I don't mind the 2010's OS as long as the playback is not tinny, or distorted nor allows decent bass when needed. Like the KLM Discover CD player that I bought even though it sounds great playing CD/Radio the MP3 playback though is rather tinny on a good pair of wired headphones, or worse flat out garbled/distorted if you use bass boost (Bluetooth headphones ain't affected though). I'd rather want to know how the playback of digital audio sounds before investing into a unknown brand. As for the 64GB mSD card I don't trust them (I got a lot of dead no name mSD cards over the years) however a simple name brand under

Wow! That is a great MP3 player with a lot of excellent features and it's a very affordable unit too compared to Apple iPods in their day. :)

Is this the pinnacle of the format? Well, my trusty ol' Astell & Kern AK120 MK II says NO! Granted, it is nearly ten years old, but the thing has 128 gigs of built-in storage and I added a 256 gig micro SD card. It will play full lossless, high-definition FLAC files at up to 24 bits/192 kHz samples. It has dual Cirrus CS4398 DACs (one per channel). It also has WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities and can even act as a music server. It even came with a genuine alligator skin leather case (which, alone cost around $120). The thing sounds friggan incredible, even to this day (10 years later), and that is even through a high-end pair of headphones such as my B&W P9 Signatures and even my Sony WH-1000MX3 headphones that I use for travel. It has a pretty powerful headphone amp built in, so it can drive most good headphones. It has a full touchscreen as well as physical buttons for track advance/reverse/play/pause as well as a thumb-wheel for volume control. Now, with that all said, the thing did cost around $1,500 though. Even after the nearly ten years I've had this thing, it is still going strong and I have no intentions of replacing it. If it does die, I hope I can get it repaired, otherwise, it will be expensive to replace as Astell & Kern units are not cheap (SE300 which currently would be the closest replacement is $1,900).' Now, with that all being said, the unit featured here is actually looks pretty nice. As somebody else mentioned, would be curious how it sounds through a GOOD pair of headphones or earbuds instead of through those cheap AirPod knockoffs it came with. I guess if this Sandisk Sansa that I currently use to play white noise files in my bedroom through a spare audio system to drown out the racket on the nearby highway ever dies (what is up with these jackasses with the loud motorcycles or the annoying ricer cars with the fart-cannons?) , I know I could get something like this to replace it with. Also as an aside, I still have two fully working iPod classics each with 160 gigs of storage.

I have a little Fii0 M3 (I think) which I swear by. Cheap, uses a microSD card, so you can increase the storage capacity to yr taste, & very powerful & loud. Recently I looked into buying a 2nd one just for back-up & was gutted to find it's no longer on the market. I mgt check out one of these puppies instead.

pinnacle of the format? Why? I have over 20 MP3 players ranging from the cheapest to ~$2000 and there is a massive difference between them, the higher-end models sounding far superior.

Sony still makes digital Walkmans starting at $75. Better quality and interface. Fiio and Hiby are lesser known brands, but also make decent digital music players.

I'm going to listen to lits of Lorna Shore on that MP3 player,
