The way he refers to his son as "my boy." Even at 96 years old, his 63 year old son is still his baby. Bless him.

I’m bawling my eyes out here…..that dad is so sweet and kind. Love the judge here too!
We need more caring judges like this, and I don't mean the kind that let criminals go for lame excuses then end up doing more harm when released.
As someone who had a mother who died of cancer, this breaks me down a lot. Once a father, always a father.

In fact, your honor, this gentleman put pressure on all of us as a Father.
I wish more judges were as kind, understanding, fair, and humorous as Frank Caprio.
It hurts to see this man struggle with his sick lil'boy. I wasn't very old (about 7) when my grandfather died of brain-tumor in 2000. I remember my grand-grand mother (his mom) saying that no parents should have to feel the pain of burying their children. My grandfather was 1 out of 5 siblings. 3 brothers and 2 sisters. 1 brother died when he got caught in the net at 15 years old while the two others and their father was out fishing, they never found him. Then one of the sisters died of cancer when i was very young, then my grandfather died in 2000 and a couple years later his other brother died of brain tumor aswell. Poor parents got to see 4 out of their 5 children die :/
Your child is your child for life! And this gentleman proves it! God bless him 🙏 ❤️
That's exactly how I teach the law. It's true a law as been broken, but you MUST ALWAYS take into account the context, especially in small, not really dangerous situations. This judge is an absolute gem for the system.

Would you write the same thing if a child (perhaps yours?) had been injured? The police officer was simply doing his job and looking out for the safety of the school children!
I wish they were more judges like this guy. I’ve watched this guy he helps a lot of people people who don’t even have two nickels to rub together. What an awesome individual.
The fact US has trials because of speeding is the reason why US is 35 TRILION DOLLARS in debt.

This is made me tear up
What I don't understand here is why he was even brought to the judge in the first place. From what I understood, he was speeding in a school zone so he basically should have got a ticket only. No reason to bother him more than that.

So you want to justify himself for enforcing the law in front of a school? Nothing said about how fast he drove, but what if a kid is being run over? I mean, the old man was on a way to a standard appointment, no emergecy and need to speed. Fair enough that the case was dropped, but the cop didn't do something wrong
Speeding or not, a police officer's job is to teach people not to punish them. How can someone write a ticket to a 96 years old
What kind of pos does this to a 90 year old helping his son with cancer? Karma will come for him…
I'm not crying. You're crying.
I saw this ages ago
Unless it's an emergency, I don't think it is justified to speed through a school zone, which was most definitely created across the US because of real cases of kids being run over while crossing the street. I'm sure everyone who's hit a pedestrian generally thought "I'm a decent driver, it'll never happen to me."
He was only taking him for routine blood work every two weeks...No reason to be speeding..............Especially not in a school zone....
@colewilliams6623
Ай бұрын
Many would call me heartless agreeing, but agree I do! I have a LOT of health issues and need bloodwork all the time. Routine bloodwork is not a reason for speeding. Good on him for still being a dad at their age, but emotions are why the case was dismissed, not law.
Damn speedsters!

It is nice and heartwarming but still shows that US justice is broken. There was no doubt a violation and he had no reason for speeding. The bloodwork is done on a regular basis, so it is not an emergency on this day. So it only proofs that judges can dismiss a case whgen they like the guy but they won't do it when they dislike the other one. Justice should be done on the cause not if the suspect is likeable or not.
The law is the law. Speeding is never okay. We can’t give people passes for breaking the law.
Uhm. No? Being a wholesome and caring father does not excuse endangering other traffic participants, more so when the area in question is *a school* (which is arguably one of the best reasons to set up a speed limits). Repeat after me: Trying to be a good person does NOT excuse ENDANGERING OTHERS. You can absolutely commend a person for their motivation, and still condemn their actions for being reckless, at the same time.
@lemagicbaguette1917

Luckily, judge Caprio doesn't agree with you.
The justice system should listen to facts like this, speedsters who actually get caught should not be pardoned, they are not only dangerous to themselves, but to others too!
... now if he were black ....
Hope you're improving judge.
That is perfect example of speed limits. If you can exceed speed limits being 96... what the fuck is going on there? Too ridiculous to comment any longer.
